En este libro hay dos relatos excelentes, para la antología: uno es el que da título al libro y otro es Cuestión de Principios, que fue llevado al cine con éxito. En el humor de estos dos cuentos se esconden pensamientos filosóficos profundos que demuestran la genialidad del autor. Después hay un par de cuentos buenos, ingeniosos, como por ejemplo "Ernesto Esteban Echenique..." y la gran mayoría (el resto) son todos cuentos mediocres y pasatistas.
