Orphaned twin sisters, half vampires and half mages, were separated at birth. One was raised by the vampires, the other by the mages, one treated like a weapon and the other like a princess. They grew up unaware of each other’s existence, but they’ve recently been reunited and forced to fight their mortal enemy… and family. Tsk tsk my dear Sabina Kane, what the hell happened to you??
I was excited about this one. Nah, ok, you’re right. I wasn’t THAT excited. Just a little bit. However, I wanted a nice story especially since the previous book was pretty awesome. But this?? 40% boredom, 60% bullsh*t. I ended up skimming most of it.
Yes, this means that the next one won’t even be on my “to-read” shelf.
No, I won’t change my mind.

Ok, so in case this is the first review of mine that you have come across let me warn you about something. I am not the most polished writer, and I tend to write more on how I felt during a story versus being able to adequately break down devises and such. When I rate books as five stars it is because I have been affected somehow by the book, or series, and know that I will read it again and again, or even have a hard time moving onto the next on my TBR list.

slow and uneventful start but towards the middle and the end....love it! gotta sleep first review to follow....=)

Now now don't get me wrong, I love this series. Sabina Kane is one of my favorite kick-ass chic out there. But why only four stars? Well, as I said earlier it started out slow not much was happening and even Giguhl (my favorite demon minion) just lost his spark on being funny as always. What can I say.. I've gobbled up the last three books in this series over the last couple of days and have thoroughly the enjoyed the adventure the Author has taken me on!
Sabina's character has 'evolved' from a 'broken, insecure, selfish, childlike being' into a force to be reckoned with.
She now has family and friends she cares for and trusts, and is willing to do anything to protect what she considers 'hers'.
Giguhl is probably my 'all time' favorite Minion/Familiar/Sidekick/Best-friend/Demon.....more

In Silver-Tongued Devil by Jaye Wells, we find our heroine, Sabina Kane, in a bit of a rut. The immediate threat of war is no longer hanging over her head. She’s living happily with her loved ones in an apartment in New York City. Life should be good right? As a former vampire assassin living on bagged blood and afterglow, things are getting a bit stagnant for Sabina, not to mention the guilt she feels about what happened to Maisie in New Orleans. Luckily for her, a murder investigation gives he...more
It was great to be back with Sabina and her pals in this, the fourth instalment of the Sabina Kane series. I very much enjoyed the first three books and was desperately wishing good things on Sabina and Adam in the previous book so that they might finally get it together. ('cause, you know, if you wish for something hard enough, it will happen). And how good was the end of Green-eyed Demon? So good, is the answer to that. Sabina finally stopped being a Fraidy Cat and admitted she loved Adam afte...more

Silver-Tongued Devil, the 4th book in the Sabina Kane series, has alot of important issues for Sabina to resolve. Sabina is really forced to dig down deep and find out who she really is. Is she the so-called Chosen one, or another version of Lilith? Or, is she the dark vampire assassin she was before she realized that her own race betrayed her and why is Cain so obsessed with her?
Her relationship with Adam is severely tested at times because of an earlier...more

Okay, what can I say about this book series that I haven't already said. It is the kind of series that not only grows on you over time, but you begin to feel closer to the characters as the story progresses. I have to say, without a doubt, this book in the series is the best one thus far. Can't wait for the final culmination and showdown.
Without giving anything away, this book has several what I like to call "holy crap" moments in it - some good and some, well... you know. You can see where the...more

So, Sabina and Maisie are finally reunited after a terrible trial and battle but their relationship is seriously damaged. Maisie is suffering PTSD, consequences of her kidnapping, and Sabina's having a very hard time adjusting to her now-relatively boring life.
This book is slower-paced than the previous in the series mostly because everyone is trying to rebuild their lives, return to some semblance of normalcy. It's also a set-up for another bump in the story arc, getting all the pieces into pl...more

If I had only one word to describe this book, I would have to EPIC. Okay fair warning folks, I am a huge Jaye Wells fanpoodle.
For the first time in her life things seem to be okay for Sabina. Her relationship with Adam is going great and she is happy. The treaty to unite the dark races is only days away from being signed, when on her way to Slade's vampire club, Sabina comes across a dead human body completely drained of blood. Sabina sees this as vampire business and since she now sees herself...more

In this series Sabina has given up her old life as a vampire assian to live her new live as a mage. being half vamp and half mage this isn't an easy thing for her to do. She finds the more she tries to ignore her darker vampire side the more she wants to come out and play. which starts to crate problems for her. Being half mage has brought its own problems lately as well, in the last book we see Sabina's sister taken by there evil grandmother and Sabina and the gang have to set out to rescue her...more
On the brink of the eve of a peace treaty between the three dark races, a series of brutal murders look to be a move to stir up distrust and to block the signing of the pact. And it is ironic that Sabina who has spent her life feeling like an abomination since she is the product of a forbidden union between a mage and a vamp, will be the one that the leaders choose to lead the investigation.

Alrighty, this book was slower than previous installments up until the end. Man, that Cain is something else.
There was a lot of emotional conflict in this volume. Sabina had a fight with just about everyone. I'm with Giguhl on Pussy Willow needing to get her act together. The Mac and Georgia thing was sad. I wonder if Sabina has that letter she promised to deliver. Just about everyone yelled their lungs out at Sabina at some point. The fights with Adam made me want to cry. Hopefully, this two wi...more

First and foremost, there will follow a few tiny spoilers. Silver-Tongued Devil had me in TEARS through the last third of this edition with our Heroine "The Red-Headed Stepchild", Sabina Kane. After rescuing her blood crazed identical twin Sister from their insane power hungry Grandmother, Sabina brings her sister Maisie home to recover. But with a powerful Peace Treaty signing fast approaching, the Heads of State for the Dark races want an Oracle reading from Maisie to ensure Peace is a viable...more
This was a book I had been waiting for and it was well worth my anticipation. What's not to love about a series where a six foot mischief demon who turns into a hairless pussycat, a sexy mage, a transvestite named Pussy Willow, and a half mage/half vampire ( who also was an assassin and can use the dead) joins together to take on evil.
Believe me you won't be able to help

The first three books in the Sabina Kane series (Red-Headed Stepchild, The Mage in Black, and Green-Eyed Demon) wound up being an exciting trilogy, but the series as a whole is set out as five books--what is that, a quintology? Anyway, with two more books in the series, I had an idea of what the big showdown was going to look like, but no idea how it would be get there.

Three stars, because I spent a lot of this book annoyed with a lot of people. It just seemed that everyone was looking for drama, everyone wanted to fight. A lot of the drama in this book, is personal and relationship drama. Sure, they're hunting a killer early on, but that fizzles out somewhere in the middle. Lots of problems from earlier books came to the forefront in climactic proportions which was fine, but it was so much of it. Mac/Georgia, Giguhl/PW and of course Sabina/Adam. There was als...more
When I started this book I was thinking maybe it would have been best to end the series at book 3 which did resolve some plot lines, but since I did enjoy the characters I figured I would keep going. Well, let it be said that the storyline is not done and what happened in book 3 continues to impact events in this book and will no doubt be an issue in the conclusion in book 5. This volume in the series allows the characters to more fully develop and explore other sides of their personalities. The...more

Okay Sabina (and J. Wells) - this book didn't quite live up to the previous three in theis series. It seemed like it wanted to go somewhere and it eventually got somewhere, but it sort of had a hard time getting there. Make sense? It felt like the story wasn't fully worked through before it was written. Sabina is back, now living and learning with/from the Mages. She's trying to be a team player both with her Team Awesome and with others around her. She is forced to participate in politics when...more

I just have one question, how does Jaye Wells manage to keep me totally engrossed, bewildered and entertained time after time? The woman is a genius. "Silver-Tongued Devil" finds Sabina questioning who she is. After non stop changes in her life including her first true love relationship, she is not sure she recognizes who she is anymore. What is so interesting for me is that Sabina has never been more of herself. Yes, she has changed and she is in love; however, that only makes her stronger not...more
So I've had a huge change of mind since I read Green-Eyed Demon, I don't like Brooks anymore ..... or rather I don't like his new alter ego Pussy Willow. She's a bitch! And she's changed Giguhl and I'm NOT a fan of anything that changes Giguhl.
PW is a huge dampener but thankfully she's not a major character so she's not in the book all that much. Sabina is trying to settle into her new mage life, which means no feeding off humans. It's bagged blood only for this magepire. But, as usually happens...more

-_--_- I have to say that this is the most disappointing book of the series so far. WHAT THE HELL is up with Sabina getting pussy whipped left, right and center from everyone especially MINOR characters. I was so frustrated to see the hot-tempered trigger finger ex assassin get a verbal beat down from Alexsis and Pussy Willow, not to mention Giguhl's traitorous behavior was getting on my last nerve. Sabina's woe is me behavior and inappropriate temper flare ups wasn't making the situation better...more
Everyone knows how much I adore Jaye Wells as a person and as a writer, so I want you to know how hard it is for me to say that I think Silver-tongued Devil is her weakest book in the series. Yes, it had lots of action (and Gighul and PW), but it also had too much drama. Sabina is thinking too much about her life and problems and not enough about what is going on around her. I miss her sharpness. Much like Laurell K. Hamilton's character Anita Blake, Sabina may ultimately flame out, and this wor...more
After recovering her sister and having Lavinia killed, Sabina, Adam and giguhl are living together in NY and hoping the peace treaty goes through without a hitch. Of course that isn't meant to be, partially because of Maisie and her inability to get past the trauma she went through at the hands of her grandmother. A human and a mage are killed shortly after the arrival of the new vampire leader and Sabina and Adam are recruited along with the vampire enforcer Alexis to find the perpetrator. Whil...more

So Um, WOW! This book had me on such an emotional roller coaster that I can't even come up with a good coherent first sentence.
I honestly didn't like Adam this go around. Not that I liked Sabina better with anyone else, I just thought he was incredibly petty. Yea I said it.
