The Lemon Man

Author: Natasha Ferrill
Illustrated by Jose Pou

“ I am the Lemonman and I want to tell you about my day. It started out as any ordinary day. I called my two friends Miss Strawberry and Professor Celery and invited them to have a cool picnic in the park. But, alas my plans went astray, as I was lead astray too. Please listen carefully and learn from me the true meaning of friendship, forgiveness and kindness as I tell you about one cunning Toad and o

This is the first book in The Lemonman Series by Natasha Ferrill and illustrated by Jose Pou. The entire premise of the Lemonman is based on a The Story of Applenook. This is about an odd couple who tended a garden in Applenook. One morning their magic floated beyond their reach and then sprinkled all the fruits and vegetables in the garden. The magic turned the fruits and veggies into living beings, including the Lemonman.

The story is simple enough. The Lemonman calls a couple of friends and in

Dahlia Bookworm’s Thoughts: There was an introduction at the beginning of the book, but the end did not go back and talk about the beginning at all to tie it in together. Overall, I liked the story though. I really liked the illustrations. I could read 98% of the words by myself.

Daisy Bookworm’s Thoughts: I liked the book. I liked that the Lemonman was nice to the toad even though the toad was mean to him at first. I like the illustrations. I would recommend this book to other kids. I thought th

I have to admit Sanctuary was a spellbinding story. It captivated this reader completely. Just when I thought it could not get any better, Ms. Hanson throws in a curve with the ex-wife. This remarkable read was extremely hard to put down. The refreshing characters of Mallie and Hooper really connect with the reader. They indeed are unforgettable, as well as the secondary players in this marvelous story. It felt like being surrounded by a huge loving family. This extraordinary read is one that I ...more

Oh my goodness, Ms. Hanson has done it again. She's created such wonderful characters that just toyed with my heartstrings. She had me laughing and crying and wanting to reach out and hug them all.

She draws you into her story so you feel like you're a part of it, like you're right there with them sharing a trail ride, looking at the beautiful scenery all around you - at God's canvas...or looking into someone's eyes - into the windows to their soul and wanting to dive in. This is what romance is

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The subject matter is important, and it's something that doesn't get addressed as much as it should. It's full of hope and faith, and the story is made even stronger by the characters' realistic approach to the future. I liked it a lot!

FUN book. Great titles for chapters. Period illustrations and authentic recipes, and enough grossness to keep everyone engaged.

It was an interesting book on Pilgrim life that is different from anything we have read before. My kids liked the pictures, the interesting facts, and the recipes in the last chapter.
