The thing that surprised me was that instead of it being a fix all right away kind of book, it flat out tells you not to try to do it all at once. I had a little bit of a hard time with that since I want answers, and results right away. (I just had a baby a few months ago and am still waiting for those last stubborn pounds to disappear) I know I know, I need to do the work and exercise to get it off, but I still want immediate results. This book is a must-read if you're looking for motivation to super charge your life! It is meant to be read one section at a time over the course of eight weeks. Each week you do something that will help you personally, as a mother, as a wife, etc. Connie has great ideas, and she is so down-to-earth and real. The book is only 130 pages, so it really is an easy and fun was to get a kick start.

From the first pages I was hooked, as Connie reassured me that this plan was simple, but life-changing. I'm working on the steps right now and implementing a daily devotional into my life is something that I've found very rewarding. I've always tried to make time for prayer and scripture study and it's difficult with four young kids who constantly need my attention. I like the approach Connie suggests of weaving in a variety of scriptures, articles, and talks to help me feel the spirit.

This is a very nice book that targets Mormon women, however, it certainly can be used by women of all faiths. Using real life experiences and humor, this book tells how to transform one's life in all areas: fitness, motherhood, organization, finances, faith, marriage and community.

This was a wonderful book packed full of great information. The sections were long enough to be useful but not overly long. The author's tone was uplifting and her personal stories embedded within were fun to read. I have to confess that I did read the whole book instead of taking it a week at a time. However, I am now going to go back through and highlight my favorite "Back to Basic" exercises and then I will take them one at a time. I like to take the whole picture in first. Love this book, the humor, and the approach! Such an inspiring book without being "heavy" or one size fits all. I love her method of making goals and transforming your life. I've been following this approach for the past five months and I love the changes that have happened in my life.

I've read most of this book and it has been misplaced, but I definitely plan on finishing it. I really loved her simple way of setting weekly goals and changing your life one step at a time (rather than the "New Year Resolutions" which never work). It would probably help anyone who feels overwhelmed with all they need/want to do.
