This is one of the most amazing books I have read! Claire is an eleven year old girl who lives in Lake George (upstate New York). Her life turns around when she realizes that she is invited to a royal wedding. Her cousin Belle is getting married to the prince of England. Claire thinks that he is a bad guy, and doesn’t love Belle. She thinks this because he used to go out with other girls, but never talked to them again. Aside from that, Claire is going to be a junior bridesmaid! She is being fol...more

My daughter and I both love royal weddings and yes, we enjoyed every minute of the pageantry as William and Kate walked down the aisle. So imagine our delight when we found this book. It gave us a glimpse into the tension and family/friend politics surrounding such an event.
My daughter, MundieTween, thought it was cool how a normal girl became the cousin of a princess and how she almost interrupted the wedding of the century. As a reader she didn't wa...more

This book is about a girl named Claire. Her cousin Belle is going to get married to the Prince of England! After a long wait, the time has come that she will go to England and attend her wedding. There is a downward point in this book when another junior bridesmaid is trying to sabotage the wedding. Claire suspects that Pandora is trying to ruin the wedding so her and her new friends investigate and find out what happens. The prince's ex-girlfriend crashes the bridal shower and Belle doesn't want...more
This book was really cute, it was like reading about William & Kate's wedding from the point of Kate's cousin. Don't get confused, this book isn't about Will & Kate, but there are many parallels. And if you really enjoyed the wedding fever last year, you will enjoy reading this book.
Claire is a honest protagonist, and a good role-model too. She only wants the best for Belle, her cousin (who is marrying the Prince of England.) A pesky bridesmaid is getting in the way of the wedding, and C...more

I liked the concept of this book but it could have been so much better! My biggest problem was that the entire wedding/British royal family was ripped off from the current British royal family. Everything from the wedding dress to the stepmother the prince has because his mother died in a car accident to the relationship history between Belle and the prince is taken from real life. It was incredibly distracting and the only reason that I can think of for doing this (besides the author being lazy...more
Claire can hardly wait! Her cousin Belle is FINALLY going to tie the knot with no other than the Prince of England! Claire even gets to be a junior bridesmaid! Sadly she is sworn to secrecy and can’t even tell her BFF anything about the wedding. Soon chaos reigns supreme as the media has discovered her relationship to Belle, she can tell her best friend and she gets to leave for London early! Claire is soon face to face with London’s answer to mean girls. Now Belle must find a way to subvert thi...more
What would you do if your cousin was getting married to a Prince, and you couldn't tell anyone? Claire Gross (I know, she hates it too) is experiencing exactly that. Her cousin, Belle, is getting married to the Prince of England! She got Belle's letter in from England telling her this and she is syched? Belle is going to be flying her and her mom in from a small town near Lake George in New York to London, England! She is also a junior bridesmaid in the royal wedding! What could be better than t...more

I have been looking forwards to Cordially Uninvited by Jennifer Roy for a very, very long time. I attended the Royal Wedding this time last year and I’m just in love with England and the customs and royalty and all of that! So Cordially Uninvited really appealed to me.
Luckily, I was not let down by Cordially Uninvited at all. Jennifer Roy wrote a hilarious and moving story set in one of my favourite cities, London. I loved experien...more

When eleven-year-old Claire is invited to serve as a junior bridesmaid at the wedding of her cousin, a commoner, to the Prince of England, she learns that another, social-climbing junior bridesmaid is trying to keep the wedding from happening and it is up to Claire to stop her from spoiling the big day.
I'll be honest, I didn't finish reading this book. I just couldn't get into it.

The prince of England has chosen a bride, and it's Claire's cousin, Belle! As a junior bridesmaid, Claire is full of nerves; snooty Pandora, another bridesmaid, makes things worse by trying to ruin the wedding. Claire's best friend, Evie, is a stalwart supporter whose wit via texting and Skype keeps Claire on an even keel. Comparisons with the recent royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton are inevitable. Some upper elementary and middle school girls will enjoy this light read for the...more

I was so excited to read this book at first because it actually appealed to me. But turns out, this book has been written for a 6 year old. This has little or no romance in it. I liked the suspense in the beginning but it all just fell apart. It was such kiddish book that I just couldn't read it anymore.
This was a very cute read, especially being about a royal wedding and having not long ago the festivities of the wedding of Prince William and Duchess Kate. Roy's novel is a great story for ages 8+, or anyone who wants a fun, carefree read. Roy has also written other books with her twin sister and fellow author Julia DeVillers. You can look for the first book in their co-written series, Trading Faces. Even though this is just an easy read, I would give it 3/5 stars because the story line is well...more
Perfect story for girls who love royalty. Claire's cousin is marrying the Prince of England, but Claire's cousin is a commoner. Someone is trying to sabotage the wedding, and Claire is determined to find out who. Plus, she wants to be sure that the Prince will make her cousin happy. The story is full of paparazzi, tabloids, and formal traditions that are customary for royalty. Appropriate for 3rd grade and up
