This time, Riley might really have bitten off more than she’s ready for. After practically begging the Council for a more challenging Soul Catch, she is assigned an actual Roman gladiator—Theocoles, the Pillar of Doom. How is Riley, a skinny twelve-year-old, supposed to get through to him? Then she meets the beautiful Messalina, who convinces her that her only chance is t

This is the first book I read on my new Nook.

The Riley Bloom series is one of my favorites out there, because it's such a good escape. Riley is spunky and totally out-there, and it makes for a really fun reading experience. Whisper is the fourth in the series about Riley Bloom, a twelve-year-old girl who is constantly burdened by the not-quite-reaching of her teens. In Whisper, Riley is given a difficult Soul Catch: a Roman warrior named Theocoles. During her trip to try to cross Theocoles over,

Finally, some action going. I like what Alyson portrays in this book about the magic in whisper and silence... But I think the cover would've been better if it shows Riley as a grown-up in the mirror instead.

I just KNNOOWW Bodhi might like Riley in the end, so it's really hilarious when a third person bumps in. You get what you deserve Bodhi, you've got the three-books-advantage (if you get what I mean) to realise how good Riley is but you didn't notice until Riley appears to be the beautiful ad

This series covers are gorgeous.

This series a really good series for children. I mean the girl, Riley is likable and she gets such interesting stories and adventures in the world of the dead. She is independent and very opinionated in a way that is appealing from a girl her age.

In Whisper, Riley travels back in time to the Roman Empire to help a fighter un-stuck and move on to the light, so to speak. There she meets Theocolse's love, Messalina and the two struck a friendship cord. But there is m

Whisper is the fourth and final book in the Riley Bloom series. This book is where Riley goes to Rome to try to get the undefeated gladiator Theocoles to cross over and come to Here and Now.
The theme was good versus evil. "Theocoles was the champion gladiator back in his day. Feared by all - defeated by none." (Noel, 5) One of the themes is beauty. "Gazing into the full-length mirror she'd propped up before me , I gasped in delight at a vision of me that looked a lot like my beautiful, older si
A sweet, well paced book for Tweens, WHISPER is perfectly written for young readers. Noel handles fundamentally heavy subjects with humor and grace, allowing her heroine to come of age in the afterlife. Riley struggles with crushes, forgiveness, body image, and romance, all while trying to rescue the long tormented ghost of a Roman gladiator.

Though I appreciated the morality tales woven into Riley’s story, it was only the parts regarding forgiveness and lost love that resonated more than intell

The first Riley Bloom book, Radiance was enjoyable but, as is often the case for the first book in a series, the amount of setting-up that was needed detracted a little from the book-specific plot. With Whisper there is no such issue, which meant that it could dive straight into the book's storyline. It's a fun plot, too, with Riley heading to ancient Rome to catch the soul of a gladiator caught in an endless repetition of his own downfall and learning a lot about herself in the process.

The fourth and final novel in the Riley Bloom series. Riley has been assigned to a soul catching case in Rome to help a gladiator move on. It’s her toughest challenge yet, and as she finds out she’s stuck in a constant loop, almost forgetting who she is. Will Riley be able to help this misguided ghost, and will she ever turn thirteen like she’s always hoped, all those answers and more are in this novel. The plot in this novel is quite different from the past three novels, which made it fun and e ...more
This book was fantastic. It was full of action, love, and fun. Riley Bloom was portrayed as a bratty twelve-year-old girl who was trying to achieve her one main goal, to turn thirteen! However, her selfish attitude caused her to be set back. It wasn't until she was assigned to a Roman gladiator, Theocoles, as well as his woman to be, Messalina. They both taught her patients and how not be selfish. In the end this benefited her. She's very close to obtaining her goal to be thirteen.

Having read the first three books, the first two being funny and enjoyable but then i was let down by the third book so i was hoping that the fourth book would be better.AND THANK THEE LORD it was, i love the story line was just brilliant and there is like a couple of spoilers in this so look away now.

I'm so sad to see the series end! I was the biggest fan since the first time the book was recommended to me. I admire Riley's perseverance, and I like that she can see when she is wrong and tries to correct her behaviour. I was looking forward to her and Bodhi's romance, and I'm slightly confused as to who she is going to end up with. Considering the series is over, I guess I'll never really know, but I hope it's Dacian. At least he appreciates the way she looks. I did like the series, but there ...more

As always, I love Alyson Noel's covers. This is no exception. I love the soft, pastel hues and the simplistic style.
I have been a fan of Alyson Noel's books since I read EVERMORE (The Immortals Series)
I like her style of writing and the ease with which I can sink into her stories. I think The Immortals Series was classified as for Older Teens, whereas the Riley Bloom series is YA. But either way, her stories are fast-paced, fun-packed, enjoyable reads.

This middle grade series tells the afterlife story of Riley Bloom, a spunky, yet sometimes whiney, 12-year-old Soul Catcher who helps ghosts cross over. Riley desperately wants to turn 13 and have her angelic glow brighten so she begs the Council for a more challenging assignment and receives Theocoles, a.k.a. The Pillar of Doom, a huge Roman Gladiator. Theocoles is so deeply entrenched in reliving his days in the Colosseum that he is unable to even see or hear Riley.

OMGOSH -- so good -- Ground hog day for Riley!

Riley Bloom is still in the Here and Now and on a new journey to help a soul move on. In this latest installment, Riley's inner most desire almost comes true. After she dies at age twelve, she thinks she will never, ever become a teenager and reach the magical age of thirteen. After Bodhi, leads her to her next challenge, he leaves her and tells her this will be her most challenging case yet. She travels back to ancient
Riley Bloom is a soul catcher, and her latest assignment is her most challenging one. I’ve been following Riley Bloom and her journeys since the start of the series. Poor Riley has missed out on so many ‘Firsts’ since dying right before becoming a teen; there’s one thing she wants and that is to turn 13. Her mentor, Bodhi tells her that it isn’t impossible for her to turn 13 in the Never that she has to change her way of thinking.
One thing I like about the Riley Bloom series is that it’s always upbeat with a somewhat happily ever after but it’s sad, too. Riley does
The Riley Bloom series is one of my favourite series because its a fun, quick and fascinating read. Whisper is the fourth and final book in the series and although I am sad that it is finished I am happy with the ending we got.

In Whisper Riley is sent to Rome on an assignment to cross over the Soul of Theocoles a Roman warrior who is stuck in a time loop created by a spirit girl who doesn't want to let go.

Whisper deals with the notion of growing up and falling in love. Riley tries really hard to

I liked this novel, especially as Riley actually learns from her mistakes this time. Riley tends to have a chip on her shoulder and an extremely low self-esteem, but refuses to listen to anyone around her when they try to help. This time, she learns to trust others and actually listen to them, and I liked that she grew up a little—her bratty attitude is toned down a lot in the novel, which was a major plus, making me enjoy her character a whole lot more than in previous novels.

This is another series that I have been following since the beginning. I really each new adventure that Riley goes on. This times she flashes way back to the time of the coliseum.

What I loved most about this book is Riley's own self-discovery. For the past few books. Riley has dealt with issues within herself. I really enjoyed that Riley got honest with herself and came into who she is meant to be.

I like her new adventure into the past. Ms. Noel captured the coliseum times well. I enjoyed the d
SJH (A Dream of Books)
Riley Bloom is growing up in this fourth book in the popular series by Alyson Noel. She faces yet another challenge as a soul catcher when she is sent to the Colosseum in Ancient Rome to convince Theocoles, a dead gladiator, to move on.

Riley is such a great character. She's bright and intelligent, funny and endearing. Although she may not always make the right choices and decisions, which is realistic considering she is only twelve, she has a habit of learning valuable lessons along the way whic

Erster Satz

I am going to start by saying I was silly by just reading the fourth book without having read the previous three. I got this book from Pan Macmillan for review purposes.
However, having said that, I really wish I had read the first three, because this one was absolutely amazing and I wish I had started from the beginning first. Alas, I didn't, but I will definitely be going back to read the other three as soon as I can!
