Originally.....Collide was way WAY longer, almost 500 pages when I finished. So I cut it shorter and added it to the beginning of Uprising (Hence the part 1 and part 2) I loved writing this book as much as the first because I got to add some different POV's and you really get into the meat of the story behind the Lighters and what may come to help aid Sherry's little family in ending them. The addition of one person in particular was a blast to write (If you've read it I think you know who I'm r...more

Lighters are still in charge, Keepers are still the enemy and Specials are still coming to terms with their gifts. The world is going to hell in a hand basket and Sherry and her family are just trying to survive. At the beginning things get moving right away, bringing in new characters and new problems. With the new additions to the family, relationships will be tested, and lives forever changed.

Of course I am still in love with Merrick...my favorite Keeper! And you won't beable to resist new boy...more

I'm not particularly fond of the other two POV's, but I guess it's okay. I really appreciate it cause they add more dimension and perspectives to the story. However I still enjoyed reading it. I love their growing family with their different personalities and the bond that they share (well except of few hateful characters), with the Specials power and all; also I'm excited to get to know more about Daniel and the whole new idea about the enforcers with their system and sorts. I especially love S...more

Sherry,Merrick and co are still hiding and building up their "good people" family. Piper is tilllusting after Merrick which provides a lot of attention as well as stuff to do with Cain... kinda vague but i dont want to spoil it.
Lily is still really sweet and adorable, ditto with Calvin. Still not much on the alien-y side of things which is good i think because the romances, bonds and friendships which accompany it are fabulous.
Quite a few characters now though quite a few have died :o( i really a...more

Uprising continues with Shelly and Merrick's love story that began in the apocolypic Collide. The chemistry is explosive and draws the reader into the relationships that build among the rebels. This book opens as the resistance has built an expanding underground bunker under a convenience store. It is the perfect hideout outside of town and provides much needed shelter for the group. Throughout the book, the group continues to grow in numbers as they seek out other Keepers and Specials who need...more

Seriously, this book was great. Words can't explain how outstanding this book was. With most series you read it seems that the farther into the books they become uninteresting and not as intriguing as the first books but this is complete opposite. There were moments that I started screaming at the book and wanted one character to get killed off *cough* Piper *cough*. Honestly, I think this book is better than the first because there was more ac...more

It pains me that I absolutely hated this book. I FORCED myself to finish this...and many times I was going to just give up on it. The only reason why I did not is that I read not one, but THREE of Alyson Noel's books. And this one was no where near as bad as those.
But I'm sorry but the love star, as I am calling it, was just too much for me. Why is everyone in love with Sherry? It is terrible. Not interesting, but actually extremely annoying. And she cries ALL THE TIME! Then Merrick. So unreali...more

Alright so I just finished book 2 of this series and I don't really know what to say. On one hand, I really like this story. On the other, similar to book 1, there were details that distracted me from the story. As usual I'll start with the positives. The story itself did get better like I'd hoped. There is more action, we get to see some darker sides of the characters, and there are some pretty unpredictable twists. We get to see the story from some new perspectives and that made Cain my new fa...more

Well, I am hooked on this series! I couldn't stop reading these books if I wanted to ....I need resolution!! In a world that is in chaos due to the Lighters compelling Humans to believe their story that keepers and rebellious humans are the problem and the Lighters are the salvation of the planet, our growing band of Keepers and their charges, continue to survive with minimal loss of life. In the first book, Collide, a baby was born in their midst and a three year old girl was rescued from abusi...more

The survival of the human race is still being threatened by the existence of the Lighters and the Keepers are still cast as the evil doers. Sherry and Merrick are still hopelessly in love. Life in the bunker has become it's own little soap opera, with all the blossoming romances, flirting, relationship spats, and mix ups. There was a bit of drama in the book that totally spiced things up, sadly it was at the expense of Sherry and Merrick it had me doing a double take and re-reading some pages, I...more

Warning: This book is CALIENTE! Hot... Hot... Hot...

My Cover Thoughts: I love the new cover! Congrats Shelly for the new art work. Four hearts representing the four people she loves the most. You’ll have to read the book in order to find out who they are.

My Thoughts/Review: This book picks up where the last one left off. Sherry and Merrick are now a couple. Danny is safe for now but there is so much that has happened. They have had to move around just to survive and some of the people they are w...more

Oh no! At the end of this book, the second in the Significance Collide series, we find protagonist Maggie Sherry captured by the enemy. No joke, I honestly feel that this book mirrors the Significance series just as much as the first one. However, this time we got to see in multiple points of view which was definitely a nice change of pace. The first half was just like the first...Shelly and Merrick alternating their insecurities and obsession with each other. The latter half was much more inter...more

All great things come in twos……

Yet again Shelly Crane has written a sequel that is enthralling and excellent to the point at which I cannot wait another second to pick up the next book. Of course, I’m in the car while I am writing this so I can’t. The introduction and reappearance of new characters adds to the growth and excitement of the Collide series. Shelly Crane gets you emotionally invested the characters, making Uprising anot...more

There are some spoilers in this review.

As we move on to book two in the Collide series we start to learn more about the Keepers and the Lighters. Merrick and Sherry are getting a long great until Piper returns and starts trouble again. She has help causing Merrick to see a vision a Sherry cheating on him with Cain. They have a argument and it gets really bad and Sherry could tell something was wrong but what it was she was not sure. Then Merrick woke up and he is his normal self and Sherry ask...more

Uprising continues right where Collide ended. The Lighters are still in charge, Keepers are still the enemy and Specials are still coming to terms with their gifts. The "family" is getting bigger with the edition of some new people. We get different point of views in Uprising and I love that, so we can see what other characters feel and what their stories are. My favourite character is still Merrick, of course. I also really like Jeff, and Cain is nice but the fact that he's in love with Sherry...more

This book picks up right were we left off in "Collide". I found that the main point of this book for me was getting to know the characters more personally as each chapter has a different person's point of view. Most of this revolve around Sherry, Merrick, Cain, and Lillian. At first I wasn't sure how much I liked bobbing back and forth in these people's heads, but I really ended up liking how I felt like I got to know these characters a bit more deeply. There is a lot of stuff going on in that b...more

seriously you do not understand how good this book is! (Well if you've read it you do and should so come talk to me) but the rest of you! Gah you are missing the awesomeness! The amazing epic awesomeness!
I dont even like apocalyptic books and I am in love! No one but Shelly Crane could pull this off in such a way that I could be so thoroughly in love with a book in a genre I usually dislike! So if you're a fan of apocalyp...more

Yeah, completely sucked in to this series... I think I know why people may have found it boring (or the first book or whatever)....it's b/c you actually get to read some happy time stuff...I LOVE that. It's not just conflict and craziness, but the occasional chapter of feel good love stuff. It was very satisfying.... Only thing that made me want to dock it a half star was the explanation for the loss of the light of the moon....that was terrible. Seriously. I don't know why it bothered me, but l...more

I truly do not know where I stand with this book and series. On one hand the concept and character development is great but on the other hand the plot falls flat and everything is a bit too "lovey-dovey". I kept hoping for more while at the same time hoping nothing would change. I have never read a book and not had a strong opinion on it, either I liked it or I didn't, which is a shame because I want to like this book and just can't. I think this book is definitely overrated but is worth a shot...more

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the character of Cain. I also loved getting more character development with all the supporting characters(Jeff,Ryan,Lillian,etc...). The character of Lily was a welcome addition. The love story was great and even better than the first book in this series. I'm a sucker for romance and this one gives you loads of it with several different couples. The editing was also a LOT better. There were still some mistakes but not nearly as distracting as the ones in Colli...more

I wanted to give this 4 stars, but I just can't. The story is good and is even better in this book. Loved a lot of the characters and their interactions, and there was a lot of action. The problem is there are some editing problems in the book. The sentence structure was very awkward at times, as well as the grammar. The ages of the children were changed in the middle, and one of the kids seemed to have been forgotten in the first 1/4 of the book. No mention of Franklin, and it was at a very sig...more

Uprising starts right where Collide finished. It kept the pace of the book and the fluid writing style. We are immediately introduced to more new characters - these novels have an insane amount of characters. I finished Collide, immediately started Uprising and had already forgotten or got confused with some of the names. You never know if the characters are on the bad side, the good side or just plain nuts. But even though there are a lot of them, in this book I got a better glimpse of some of...more

I read the first book in this series last year and I always said to myself that I was eventually going to read the rest of the series so I sat down one weekend and did just that! I loved Collide so I was really looking forward to reading the next book! The plot of this book was similar to Collide in a way as it continues on from where it left off so they sort of face the same problem and have the same dilemmas but I was sort of proven wrong at times in the book as the characters faced some new c...more

Uprising is the second book in the Collide series by Shelly Crane, following Collide. I started this series because I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the Significance series (set to release this month! YAY!), which I just really love. The Collide series is not holding the same draw for me. There is something about the characters, especially the main character, Sherry, that I am just really not connecting with. I think the plot—or maybe the idea of the plot—is very unique and cool. There i...more

I enjoyed this sequel to Collide. There was drama, loss, new friends, and old ones brought in. Some of the questions you may have had in Collide are answered in Uprising. I think the book could have been a little shorter and still conveyed the story well. I liked that there was more drama in this installment. The first book seemed to be all lovey dovey and constant peace. Some characters in Uprising shake up that harmony, and I love it. I enjoyed seeing things play out in other characters' persp...more

review to follow....=) better than the first one!

FOR THE REVIEW:

This one was better than the first one, though it started out slow at first (well being stuck underground can be boring....) some action did happen towards the middle of the book. Basically, the main reason for me to keep reading on....well, there's CAIN! I know most of the readers would be rooting for Merrick but since having Cain's POV on this one really made me happy! Too bad he's in love with Sherry which I think is pointless si...more

An uprising is coming, it was bound to happen. While many are falling, who everyone really is begins to show. While the group of people living underground begins to grow, there is no way of really knowing who's side everyone is on. It's all a matter of who you trust.

Even while Sherry and Merrick gather people to join them, the Lighters' army is growing- and any idea of hope is dwindling down. Should they fight, or live the best they can quietly? Can they live though either?

While I am usually n...more
