"Her beloved lunatic needed her--whether he knew it or not. Whatever it took, she was not leaving without him."

It is so satisfying to finally read this book after all this time. Out of all the Inferno club books, this has to be the most anticipated (Gaelen Foley was driving me crazy with all her tantalising glimpses of their future romance in the earlier books in the series!) and the most satisfying. Besides the fact that I adore Gaelen Foley's writing style, the characters she created in this b

Years ago, if you had said to me, "Rachel, the day will come when you rate books higher because they're violent and bloody with some smexy times on the side," I would have scoffed and replied, "Bitch, don't be talking crazy!" Alas, as I age, I grow infinitely creepier. My Ruthless Prince went there so many times that I was utterly captivated by the sheer ballsiness of it.

At times, it seemed that Gaelen Foley was writing directly to my spirit animal, the velociraptor. Nobody enjoys death and may
Why oh why do I always get suckered into reading Gaelen Foley's new books and end up regretting it! It started off so good, but by 20% in I knew I was in trouble! The plot overshadowed the romance. Devil worship horse play abound from a group of old evil men and a hero that was TSTL had me skimming pages so fast, I think I gave my self Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. The subplot with the devil worshipers was rather stupid. The hero was even more stupider, letting the heroine walk around the devil worshi ...more

Second half was better than the first. Considering I have not been much of a fan of this series, I still, somehow, hold out hope every time that the Gaelen Foley of old will shine through. While that wasn't necessarily the case in this instance, there were flickers of the author I once loved. This entry in the series was better than the ones that have come before it. Still, it could have been amazing. Once upon a time it would have been. For what it was, it wasn't bad. Drake and Emily are a beau ...more

Book four in the Inferno Club, best enjoyed read in order but could be read as a standalone.

~~Drake, Earl of Westwood was captured by the evil Promethean group and tortured beyond reason but never gave up his fellow members of the Inferno Club. Now he is on a dangerous mission all on his own and has no time for his childhood friend appearing and causing havoc with him and his plans. Drake is dark and mysterious but generous and not afraid to admit his feelings but has to hide so much behind a ma

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was worried that I wasn’t going to connect with the characters since this is part of an ongoing series, but I was immediately drawn into the plot from very beginning. Their love was forbidden, Drake being the earl’s heir and Emily, the woodman’s untamed daughter. I loved the tenacity of Emily, she loved her man and she would do anything to bring him back from the dark side. I was moved b
Really good book. I've been waiting for Drake's book and it was just as good as I had expected. In previous books he had been captured, tortured, lost his memory, and apparently gone over to the bad guys. Emily doesn't believe it. She grew up with Drake and knows that it would be impossible for him to do so. She is determined to save him and uses her skills to track him to Germany, intent on getting him away.

Drake is such a tortured hero. His hatred for the Prometheans has driven him to seek rev

What a delicious tortured hero. Drake has spent his entire adult life, fighting on the side of good, as part of the Order. But the evil cult of Prometheus took him captive and tortured him senseless. He was released and nursed back to health by his childhood best-friend Emily. But once he was well, he ran... back into the clutches of Prometheus. Now, his brethren at the Order think he is a traitor. But Emily knows better. She follows Drake to the Prometheus stronghold, on a mission to bring him
Lover of Romance
Emily Harper, has always loved Drake, ever since she was a little girl, even though their stations should have kept them apart, it only drew them together. Emily has always known of Drake's secret, being a spy and working for the government or also known as the "Inferno Club" When he is suspected of being a traitor, even to his brothers from the club, she knows only she still believes in him, and she must save him. So she travels on her own through Europe, to find him, and when she finds him... ...more
I fell in love with Gaelen Foley back with The Duke and have enjoyed her historical romances since then. She has always written such smart and engaging heroines who are so different from the "typical" historical romance heroine that you are always rooting for them and everything they are going through. My Ruthless Prince is no different. Emily is the daughter of the woodsman on the Earl of Westwood's estate but that never stopped Emily and Drake (the Earl of Westwood) from becoming best friends, ...more

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I have to say it's one if not my favorite from this series and big improvement from the first three. Drake and Emily were quite a refreshing pair in the Inferno Club gang. Emily Harper is the first heroine in this series I actually liked and enjoyed. Pigs must be flying. :P I found her endless devotion, love and faith in Drake endearing and her bravery and strength and resourcefulness admirable and charming. She's described as everything pure and innocent but has ...more
What would you do for the one you love? Would you follow them to the ends of the earth? Would you die in their place? Would you kill to protect them? Think about it for a moment.

Emily Harper didn't have to think about it she just reacted. When Drake escaped the Order and ended up in the midst of the enemy, she knew she could talk him into coming home. She had faith she could help him remember his true self, which the torture the Prometheans' had inflicted upon him had wiped from his memory. She

3.5 stars!

I always had the most peculiar bad luck while picking historical romance books that I want to try. I dreaded the spy romance novel because I love the lightness of romance novel.

After unfortunately, having bad luck with strings of spy romance novels, I am glad that I read this one on impulse.

Drake is a double cross agent. Emily is the girl who loves her since childhood. She followed him to the enemy's lair because she wanted to save him.

The romance did not even overshadow the plot. It w

Take Note: This book is not a stand alone novels like what other reviewers stated. There were a lot of references that happened in earlier novels. Albeit, short explanations are narrated but still it would be clear if you read the series in order.

I'm sharing my thoughts on my first ever Gaelen Foley novel. It was suggested before but I always gave it up because no story caught my interest. I gave this a shot because it's a brooding hero-Drake and a fearless heroine-Emily. What spices it up for m

Finally! Finally we get Drake's book, although I have to admit I'm disappointed. It's so difficult when your expectations are high, for the book to actually live up to the hype. While this wasn't terrible, I certainly didn't expect what happened in this book, and I don't mean that in a good or bad way.

First, I'm sure it happened occasionally in real life, but I have a hard time believing that an English lord had anything to do with the servant's daughter, much less spend
I'd been waiting for Drake's story from the first book in the series and it was so worth the wait. Read this in one sitting and I'd advise other readers not to start reading unless they're sure they've got time to finish because they won't want to put it down. Absolutely loved it.
Oye! This one was hard for me to read. The story is supposed to be a 'Regency' Romance, and I think I had an easier time getting thru some of the story build up, once I let that go, in my head. I also discovered, once I started this, that it was part of a series. So the few chapters in the middle were especially hard for me to get, since I didn't read the previous stories. Ive read books from a series before, and not in order. I think the author usually does something with a bit of a 'review' or ...more
I like Emily and Drake much more in their own story rather than showing up in other people's. Emily has loved Drake since they were children on his father's estate where her father was the gamekeeper. They were inseparable even though their stations in life were very different.

Drake never took advantage of Emily but killed a neighboring land owner in a duel who tried to force himself on Emily. When Drake is taken prisoner enduring torture and brainwashing, it is only the memory of Emily that sus

This is one of those books that does not really stand alone, it is intricately plotted and if you wish to get the full impact of the narrative, reading the previous books might be needed. However, if you do enjoy a little action mixed in with your historical read, then this book passes muster and then some.

My Ruthless Prince is book 4 in the Inferno Club series. Drake the hero is the Earl of Westwood and labeled a traitor and on the run. His tortured self was seen in previous books, of which I h

This is the 4th installment of Gaelen Foley's Inferno Club series. Unlike the other 3 books that could be read as stand-alone novels, this one isn't. It has a lot of references to the previous ones.

This is Drake's book and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! If you love a broken hero, Drake is the epitome of a broken hero. I feel like he tops the cake, because he went through utter Hell and back. He was tortured by the Inferno Club's enemies, the Promethians and then is saved and "turned" in

This was the story I've been waiting for since I read the first book in this series. Since I have no idea how to do that cool click thingy for the spoiler, I'm going to give my review first then the last paragraph will be a spoiler with a warning. Be aware!

Most of this book was fantastic. Well, fantastic in that "I'm overlooking all of these major coincidences because I want them to win, too" sort of way. It wasn't so unbelievable that I couldn't enjoy the story, but it was very "Rambo"ish. You
I enjoyed the previous book in this series, My Irresistible Earl, though I did have some moments when I thought WTF??? And I really liked seeing the characters I had met in the that book again in My Ruthless Prince.

While I was reading this book I was considering DNF-ing it a lot of the time, cause for some reason, the story just didn't grab me. I wasn't really excited for Emily and Drake and their romance. And I think what bothered me the most that in all reality both of them would probably hav

My Ruthless Prince is my fourth Gaelen Foley romance novel after Prince Charming, My Dangerous Duke and Lord of Ice, which I have utterly adored. Yet, I am afraid this one didn’t live up to the high standards set by my previous readings, all rated 5 stars and rightly so.
If on one hand MRP fulfills my expectations in terms of clever plot, always intriguing and at times even breathtaking (the final chapters will k

I am so glad that I kept going with this series and picked up this book, because I could not put it down. Drake and Emily's story turned out to be everything I was wanting and more.

When Drake, Earl of Westwood is labeled a traitor by his fellow Order brothers Emily doesn't believe it. The Drake that she grew up with is in no way a traitor and she is determined to prove it. She sets off to bring Drake back and remind him of everything he once b
Love GF, she is my favorite historical romance author. I thought this was not one of her best books. The first half of the book dragged along and not much happened with the plot. I also wanted to know more about Emily and Drake's past. The one flashback that Emily had was great, but I wish it would have explained more about their forbidden love and explained more about how they fell in love with one another. I also didn't like how Drake got to lead an exciting life away from Emily for all those ...more

I have found a new author to read with breathless anticipation. Gaelen Foley writes wonderful historical romantic fiction. My Ruthless Prince thrust me into Germany with a mystery of good versus evil. The main characters Emily and Drake were in danger for much of the book. Drake an Earl and Emily the games keeper's daughter were not allowed to be any more than friends. However, when Emily is afraid that Drake has become a traitor by force, she rushes in to help him. Events become even more dang
