So yeah, best shit ever?! Do I really need to do a review of this? I still remember going to a stand (yes a wooden stand) downstairs in my home town and begging my mom to buy my sister and I a copy of the series. Each time we would buy 2 manga (one each) and I believe in my entire school, we (my sister and I) had the most Case Closed manga. LOL, we would compete with all the boys who have read the most. Gosh, those were the days. #NoShame #IRegretNothing Yeah...so this is less than a review and ...more

I've been meaning to read Case Closed for a long time now. I used to catch the show on TV when I was younger and I always liked it so I though this couldn't be a better option to enter the world of manga.

Shinichi Kudo is a brilliant teenager detective who has helped the police solving a lot of cases. He also has the tendency to put his nose where it's not wanted and it's going to cost him. While spying in some shady men dressed in black, he gets caught and the made him drink a strange potion tha

Okay, a quick walk down memory lane for me. I read this series when I was still living in China, which was a long time ago, just to put this into perspective. If you were hoping for a detailed review, thou shall not find it here.

So basically this series:
- Has a nice plot (neat concept)
- Has some awesome mysteries (This has to be my favourite thing about the series as I LOVE reading mysteries).
- Has some badass characters
- Has some hilarious characters
- IS TOO DAMN LONG! (This series has 76 vo

I love this series!

The art is beautiful. Each character is distinct and the horror of dead bodies and crime scenes are not glossed over CSI style.

The plot has the perfect elements of the over arcing story of Conan's "men in black" and their mysterious poison that has shrunk him down to half the size he used to be but still twice the detective. With individual cases we get to see Conan flex his unique problem solving mussels to catch the bad guy and save the day. All without people knowing a si

Begitu terpe

Oh god this thing is adorable.

It just so happens that I've been on a Sherlock Holmes streak, and look at this!

Jimmy is your average ordinary high school junior. He plays soccer--well, he used to, until he left the team--has a close childhood friend that he secretly has a crush on, and is one of the most prolific child detectives--scratch that--detectives period.

Okay, so maybe not that last part.

He goes around solving crimes and having all the girls swooning after him and is a total mystery novel

Detective Conan is something the makes me read all night long and it's just really intense that you just won't stop reading. This is only the first book out of hundreds more. This book is where Kudo Shinichi solved a case that happened during a roller coaster ride and he followed this two looking suspicious men in black. He followed them until 'Vodka' noticed that Kudo has been following him and his partner 'Gin' so he went around and smacked Kudo from behind that caused him to lose consciousne ...more

This manga has been translated to Indonesian since 1996. The latest volume in Indonesian is # 48. I've read all of them. Not only that I've been collecting them for the past 11 years.

Wow.
That didn't sound so pathetic in my head.

The murder mysteries are always good. They're also hard to crack, unless you take some time scrutinizing every sentence in every panel.

I never do that, of course.

SPOILER ALERT.

The biggest "holy s--t" mmoment is when I read # 42 - the showdown between Conan + Jodie - Chri

Where to start on this series... Besides that it will only end when the creator runs out of ways to kill people.

The story is of (at least in English, 'cause that's the only version I've read), is about a mystery-novel lover named Jimmy, who is an expert detective on the side. He sticks his nose where it doesn't belong and is given a deadly drug. But it would be boring if it ended that way, now wouldn't it?

It turns out, this drug has a 1/100 chance of, rather than killing, turning people into lit

I have read all of Gosho Aoyama's Case Closed Manga's from vol. 1 to his latest vol. 37.
I also just saw that there is a vol. 38 and I can't wait to read it. I have also seen some of the Case Closed episodes starring Conan Edogawa aka Jimmy Kudo but I lost track of which ones that I have seen and where I have left off. The Case Closed Manga's are full of excitement and a good (Canon aka Jimmy) vs. a very poor detective (Richard Moore). I say Good Luck to Jimmy Kudo. Coarse I am wondering when he

Manga are usually rather difficult for me to read, and I found this somewhat easier than most. A common difficulty for me is not being able to tell the characters apart, and that was no problem here at all. The protagonist, high-school-age Jimmy, is given some kind of poison which reduced him to the size and shape of a first-grader. He continues to help solve crimes, though it's more difficult now that everyone sees him as just a little kid. The mysteries are short and solved quickly. The real i ...more

Detective Conan, who looks like a 6 year old boy, is actually a teenager of 16 years-old. In one of his cases, he was attacked and forced to drink a drug that made him shrunk and take the appearance of a little boy. He owns the most charming outfits, and a little boy being clever and resolving murders is highly enjoyable. No one knows he is actually Shinichi, the teenager, except his old neighbor and friend, who happens to be an inventor too. He has a girl friend who can kick ass (she is an expe ...more

One of my all time favorite series, and one of the few that it's really a chore to wait the week for the next file to come out and be translated. Highly recommended, but don't bother with the English version, with the weird names and the fact that in one Heiji (one of my favorite ever characters) comes from Canada, and another where he comes from Osaka like he's supposed to. I mean, didn't the translators stop and think, "If we say Shinichi (I refuse to the the English name) is in New York, isn' ...more

When I first saw my friends reading this book, I couldn't understand why they were so into it. Now after I've read the book, I understand. This book has so interesting plot line. A high schooler detective took a strange drug that made him younger, so he's trying to find the solution to the problem. Jimmy Kudo had everything going for him - a junior in high school, a successful private detective, the attentions of a beautiful girl. But that all changed when he discovered a case that may be too big for even him, and was given a dose of a strange substance that shrinks him to the size of a six year old. Taking the name Conan Edogawa, Jimmy is determined to find the people who did this to him and create a cure. Meanwhile, he keeps trying to solve cases - but no one wants to listen to a little ...more

Jimmy Kudo is a high school student who was inspired by Sherlock Holomes to become a detective, and he has done a great job. To find the whereabout of the men in black he disguised himself under the name of Conan Edogawa to live with his childhood friend Ran and her dad a lousy detective Mouri. Case Closed, or Detective Conan as it is better known by, is a wonderful series that brings an interesting new spin to the detective story genre. It is fascinating to see the combination of two very different styles, Sherlock Holmes style detective as well as the classic Noir detective, that adds in the challenge of trying to solve crimes while in the body of a grade school kid. A classic of sequential art, both in Japan and all over the world, Case Closed is worth a read from anyone who likes a ...more

A teen detective is inadvertently shrunk to the size of a six-year-old, and must figure out how to get adults to take him seriously while continuing to solve crimes at the same time. I'm not much of a manga fan, but this wasn't too bad. One warning, however: while the main character looks six years old, he is emotionally more mature, and the crimes he solves can be pretty gory! I wouldn't recommend this series for kids under 12.

One out of the few manga series I follow. I love Aoyama's complex mystery storylines - I am always amazed at the tricks his criminals come up with, and how Conan always seems to decipher them. But with any series, if you stretch it out too long, the stories become repetitive and trite; I believe Detective Conan's volumes are numbering in the 50s now, and I don't feel like keeping up anymore. I think a lot of readers will agree that the series needs to end. Soon.

High school detective Shin'ichi is made to drink a strange chemical causing his body to shrink to that of a six year old, but, however, his mystery solving problems are retained... After assuming the title of Conan, he now realises that solving cases as a kid is a bit difficult, after all, who will listen to the whims of a kid?
In this first volume he solves a be-heading, a kidnapping, and a murder...

I've read the the first chapter until the latest English translation chapter (889) and fall for this series each time I read the end of the every chapter. Because the series is so damn long, there are times when I drop it but always return because, hell, it hasn't finished yet, how can I leave it?
