This story follows two couples, although you only get to see the one couple from the perspective of the main pair which was interesting. Zane wants to be a director but as taken the job of personal assistant to one of the stars Elliot in order to get his foot in the door. They seem to hang out with Davey, a costume assistant and Cristiano the costume designer. Zane is straight (he doesn't count those men he was in bed with), Elliot is in the closet as many actors are, Davey and Cristiano are out ...more
This was really a gorgeous book -- rate it a 4.5 -- I loved the characters, especially the struggle Zane had to try and balance his desire to be with Davey with his fear of everything just disappearing with the whole Hollywood constant-travel lifestyle thing, further complicated by his internalized feelings about homosexuality because of his father's abuse when he was a child. He seems to have dealt with that much differently from his older brother, Ian, who is openly gay.

got this on a whim, not expecting too much b/c:
1) many books written w/the film industry as a backdrop are pure crap
2) id never read any of her other books, and after multiple disappointments with new-to-me authors (and some who arent new), ive learned not to get excited until finished with a book
3) after reading the blurb, i figured the book would be on one end of the good/bad scale but, in following with points 1 & 2, wasn't sure which.

im glad i gave it a try, as it was rather enjoyable:
I'm teetering between and 3 and a 4 on this one. I'm going to have to think about this some more. Part I of the book made me a bit irked with one of the MCs. Part II made me downright mad one of the MCs. Part III made me think I was really harsh with one of the MCs. Now I need to re-evaluate my reaction to said MC and tomorrow I'll write a review.
Lots and lots of sex, but not too intrusive. Good character development.

Author of gay romance and erotica, urban fantasy, and horror. Fond of things that go bump in the night and thump-thump in the bed.
