Bear, Diamonds and Crane is a worthy successor to the award winning Shadow Mountain. Both the books published by Four Way Books in Tribeca, NYC have great production values. The writing in Bear, Diamonds and Crane deals mainly with Claire Kageyama-Ramakrishnan's mother, Elsie, and her family's experiences. In contrast, Shadow Mountain ( see its review for more) dealt with the experience of the author's father, Hideo, and his experiences in the internment camps as a young boy. A little stilted and self indulgent at the beginning but it eased into something really beautiful later on. It's a decent collection of poetry. Most anthologies are very hit or miss with me but there were more poems here that I liked than I disliked. :)
