Paul promises he won't do anything to Jesse, as long as Suze will go out with him. Suze doesn't want to lose Jesse forever, so she agrees. But now she's having grave doubts: can a girl real

I thought that Young Blood was a pretty meh sequel, but Grave Doubts was just boring. There was barely any plot in this story. It was quite short and seemed to consist of nothing more than Paul harassing Suze & Jesse. I finished this book last night (so less then ten hours ago) and I can barely remember a single significant event in the story. It was a 100% filler sequel, and I'm now pretty scared of where this series is headed. I don't want a a paranormal romance, I want ghost-busting and t ...more

I have really enjoyed this series and I have every intention of finishing the last book, however, this book just didn't do it for me. I know a lot was revealed about 'what' Suze is and what all she can do that she was unaware of, that part was great. I just got sick of hearing about Jesse. Good gracious me, that was ALL she thought, talked, whined, moped and pondered over. Jesse, Jesse, Jesse, ect. Why doesn't he like me? What did I do? How could I kiss someone else and like it when I love Jesse ...more

I loved this one!! I was heartbroken when Jesse went to the rectory, but oh did my heart flutter at the end - woooo!!! Nice twist too with "Grandpa Slater".

I agree, the fight chapter was hillarious!!! I love that CeeCee realized finally who Jesse is. And I love how she is willing to let Suze explain it all in time. What a great friend!!

I'm a BIG fan of The Mediator series, no that there's this fifth book to the collection, I really needed to read this.

The realtionship between Suze and Jesse is one of a kind, mainly because he's a ghost. But, she thinks he doesn't feel the same way. He rarely speaks to her, nobody can see him except her and paul.

Paul's a mediator too (someone who can see and communicate with ghosts). He's one of the bad guys and yeah he likes Suze too! When he kisses her, she actually kisses him back! I was thi

In Grave Doubt the fifth book of the Mediator series Suzie is drawn to Paul, a fellow mediator who is a new student at her school. In the previous book Paul spent his time trying to win Suzie over but he has made it clear he has no interest in helping the recently deceased despite her protests. Suzie is weary of him but she can't help admire his good looks. Not only that but Paul has information Suzie needs and with his knowledge she might find out she isn't just your average mediator. The last book ended with a kiss between Suze and Jesse (YES!), but now Suze doesn't know where they stand. Are they dating? How can they even date? And after that kiss, Jesses has been keeping himself distant, so much so that Suze is questioning is he sees the kiss as a mistake. To make matters worse, Paul enrolled in Suze's school and he's intent on dating Suze and wants to teach her what it truly means to be a meditator. Tho

I swear, this series just get better and better. In this installment of Suze’s life in Carmel, California, the delectably dangerous Paul Slater reenters her life just when she thinks she will never see him again. Paul is the Devil in a hot bod—or so Suze believes as she recalls the past summer when Paul tried to kill her and make her ghostly sweetheart, Jesse, disappear forever.

Paul claims to know what, exactly, they are, why they communicate with ghosts and what else they can do. But Suze doesn

Paul Slater has enrolled himself at RLS and he's offering to tell Suze what he knows about Mediators that neither she nor Father Dominic knows. Suze's feelings are thrown into disarray when she struggles to fight her attraction to Paul (and his advances) and is hurting because Jesse has been avoiding her ever since the kiss they shared after she pulled him back from the other side. To make matters worse, Jesse is a ghost and Suze is starting to see that a live guy may be better for her...

I have to say, after all of the action and excitement in the fourth book of the Mediator series, I found Haunted to be kind of...meh.

There's a significant dip in pacing in this installment, that much is clear. There were so many big reveals and plot twists in the fourth book, and I was really eager to see if the fifth book was going to maintain that intensity. For me, it didn't. This book just seems like set up/groundwork for the sixth and final installment--which is fine, but just slightly disa

I have been living in Meg Cabot land for the past few weeks and it is similar to living under a rock .:P I was so engrossed in her mediator world that I pretty much forgot about the other books I was casually reading . I had to buy every book in this series that was available to right right away as soon as I finished the previous, the hour of the day/ night did not matter. I guess what I am trying to quantify is my love for these books. The book centers around our awesome, funny, stylish and coo ...more

Haunted leaves suze out of ghost hunting for a while. She comes to learn about her abilities and what she can do and what does that cahnge about her lofe, which is everything. Paul, the new guy previously introduced in earlier books, informs her that they are both shifters & tine travelers as well as mediators. Their spirit can change shapes and they can time travel. This introduced the dilemma of "can I do anything to stop bad things from happening?". It will be the foremost thought on Suze ...more

This is like a fangirling mess, so read at your own caution

I don't know if this one or the next one was my favorite, I always say it's this one but I think it's a tie. We've finally got a real main antagonist and we're learning more about what Suze is, and the romance! The romance is happening, it's been slowly bubbling up but it's coming!

pg. 32: LOL really Suze, you think precious, adorable, innocent David's throwing a hot tub party
pg. 33: really love Suze/Brad confrontations

Estimated time of 1st read 2008. I may have reread because I reread a lot of Meg Cabot books.

Reread 12/10/2015-12/11/2015
Rating after Reread: 4.5/5 stars.

I kind of love to hate Paul Slater, but in rereading this book I started to become more and more disgusted with his behavior, the expectations he has of Suze, and how his misogynistic behavior isn't really reprimanded in any way. Seeing how I'm going into my reread of Twilight basically blind, I'm HOPING that he gets punished for more than jus

First and foremost! What is Paul doing here? My ship was sailing so smoothly then he rears his ugly, almost-boyfriend vanquishing head.

Just let them be together!!!!

I don't like you, Paul!

Now that that's out of my system.
What do you mean, Jesse is moving out?!?!
He can't. He just can't. That can't happen. I'll tell you why that can't happen. Because it would be detrimental to my ship. That's why!
Luckily, for all of us here in Jesse-Suze-land, it didn't. He stayed. Just as he should. :)

2.5, but barely

Now that I've had time to settle my thoughts, I will still say I have mixed feelings about this book. It isn't as tightly plotted as the past books, but that might not be a bad thing. There were enjoyable parts to this book.

However, in the end, what really made it less enjoyable for me was that the book has the bad communication plot line to keep a romantic pairing apart. I despise plot lines that can easily be resolved with honest, open communication because so often, they are do

This wasn't my favorite in the series, but it still had me up late into the night. I really enjoyed it. I had a bad feeling about Paul the whole way through the book. I feel like it was encouraging us to change our minds about him, but I just couldn't do it. I was stuck with Suze and her opinion of him.
As always, I was rooting for Jesse (can I keep him?) and Suze. When I began the series I knew that somehow, Suze would get Jesse. And I was expecting it in this book. It didn't happen.

A case of insomnia made me finish this book from june 17th to june 18th (I read it up until 7 am) lol

Then I just rated it and finally went to sleep, because I was in no condition of reviewing at the time.

I actually didn't like this one too much. I still liked it because I like the series as a whole (and this wasn't too bad. Or, at least, not as "bad" as the sixth one), but it was definitely different from the past books.

This time, the book is a little less about ghosts-bothering-

Meine Meinung

I think that this was an interesting installment. There were very little mediator events, which I appreciated. The book mostly concentrated on Jesse, Suze and Paul's love triangle. I was expecting another cliche mediator event to happen, but Meg Cabot surprised me and didn't go down the lane. Instead, all we had in this book was a love triangle. Surprisingly, it was enough for me. I didn't find myself too bored. While trying to remember what was in the previous 200 pages of the book, I can't see ...more

I read this book a while back. It's great as a stand alone novel. In fact, I didn't even know there was a series until recently. I'm not terribly interested in reading the books prior to this one. This one has stood out in my mind as something fantastic for a while. The end does leave you wanting more, but I've been hesitant about finding out if there was more. I mean, how could it get better than this particular book?

I finally did a little research, low and behold, this is the fifth book. I'm g
I have such love-hate feelings about this series. I love Jesse, Father Dominic, and the family. Suze I like not at all. You'd think with everything she has encountered she would mature throughout the series or learn from mistakes - even a little bit. But this character does not evolve AT ALL. She is the same spoiled brat in book 5 that she was in book 1. I'd question Jesse's judgement, only he has no other options. I was hoping for more development with aforementioned loved characters, but they ...more
