Destiny Calls
by
Samantha Wayland (Goodreads Author)
Patrick didn't think it would be a big deal to kiss his best friend Brandon. Hell, they'd done crazier things to avoid a bar fight. He was totally unprepared to be wildly turned on, the kiss opening up new avenues of pleasure he'd never dreamt of-Patrick, after all, was straight, even if Brandon wasn't.

And another one bites the dust…DNF at 43 %

Destiny Calls has a very high average rating, therefore it's probably me and not the book, so don't mind my little Baba rant. I will refrain from writing a synopsis because I prefer to get down to business right away.
Plenty of things ticked me off. Here we go…
The repetitiveness of:
Oh fu@k. Oh my god.
Holy fu@king shit.
Jesus H. Christ.
Jesus
Sweet Jesus
Sweet fu@king Jesus
Holy Jesus
Sweet Jesus, Mary and Joseph
for being 'into freaky Jesus shit'

Looking for that story that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go? Look no further than Destiny Calls!
Some of the hottest M/M scenes come when one or both of the men don’t intend to go “that far” or when it’s so spontaneous the intensity of the moment stills your breath. Destiny Calls is that type of book. Patrick and Brandon are best friends and have been since they were kids watching each other’s backs, so there is a bond betw...more

I bought 'Destiny Calls' right after I finished 'With Grace', hoping that it was just as good. I was wrong, it was...So. Much. Better!! I loved this book and really hope to see more from the author soon.
First, what I really liked: the plot was realistic. That's a problem I have with most romances- the plot is either too perfect, contrived, or completely unrealistic. But in this book, the angst was natural to a new triad relationship. Each character felt, to an extent, as the third wheel or not...more

An emotional, erotic triad love story that presents the issue of friends becoming lovers – always a hit in my book! The 3 main characters deal with attraction to each other, bigotry, societal norms and the courage to live and love freely. All of this is wrapped around a suspense plotline dealing with the mafia and those who deem it their right to judge and pass sentence on others. I enjoyed the dynamics of Patrick learning to accept his love for Brandon that went deeper than best friend status....more
Whoa! That was honestly one of the hottest, most romantic books I have EVER read. Just wow! A full review to come, after I have had time to process my thoughts!

I like the characters, althought the only one that really seems to be almost fully developed was Patrick. Brandon seems a diluted version of Patrick and Destiny is only there to give the guys the "justification" for their self-discovery without having to fall completely in the gay-themed genre.
The caracters of Destiny and Brandon get a little more developed reaching the end of the novel. If all of that would have been done earlier in the book, it would have made them more complete characters to...more

The premise was good, the execution was lacking.
Too much inner dialogue and not enough actual character to character dialogue. The connection between the three MC's suffered because of it. The sex was clinical because of it.
I love a good menage, but in this book there just seemed to be a third wheel - either Destiny or Brandon should not have been in the book. It would have worked better as either a M/M or M/F.

I'm not usually a big fan of menage books. You either don't have a Happy Ending or it's a strange dynamic of men who grow up sharing women for some strange reason. Or it's a paranormal thing with packs and mates and 2 or 3 men who are destined to be with one woman. I've always felt like it's just an excuse to write threesomes. With that being said, I think Destiny Calls is one of the best menage books I've read. I like how all the relationships develop separately and the menage happens because e...more

Recently I was asked by a friend on Goodreads.com if I would be willing to review a book that had been written by one of her writing partners, as she knew I read menage quite often and I agreed. Its been a long time since I had read a menage story that I have enjoyed as I did this one.
Destiny, Brandon and Patrick have been friends for years, growing up in homes that nowadays would potentially be classified as emotionally abusive and have maintained that f...more

This is a great m/m/f story about three friends who come to realize they were meant to be together forever. You can feel the love drip off the pages. The road is not an easy one for them. They have to fight their feelings for each other and fight those who are out to cause them harm, but they overcome. I absolutely loved this story.
I have to admit that the woman in this story felt like the third wheel which is kind of perfect for me but probably not for the m/f lovers out there. Really well written and had me hooked from the first page. A bit of intrigue and mystery and, of course, the hot sex. Not as hot as I usually prefer but it was still satisfying. Loved these two guys, like really loved them. Funny that Patrick was more accepting of the situation and he was the "straight" one. Well worth the read.
This was a really good m/m/f menage with a friends to lovers theme that was filled with action as well as steam. The chemistry between the three was SMOKIN HOT and the sex scenes ever hotter. I did want to thump Patrick in the head a few times for being a clueless ass and pour Brandon goes through hell but it all worked out in the end.
Wow...such a wonderful love story. Not just sex, not just another book to forget. I'll be remembering this one and reading it again!!
I never got a chance to review this. It was one of my 1st M/M/F Triad books and it was amazing I have since read this book 3 times. I loved how the story flowed and came together. I love Patrick and the emotions he went through to get to where they ended up. The story was great dealing with being Boston Cops and being caught up in the mafia issues on their current case and the effects it has with all 3 of the characters. Just loved it. .

Samantha Wayland’s dream is to be a full time writer. Her reality (for now) is a full time job that involves a lot of deadlines, paperwork and computer geeks with questionable social skills. Fortunately for her, she loves geeks and hard work. She began writing her first romantic suspense when she was in college and years later was still working away on her second book when she joined a local chapt...more
