In my third return to Ms. Karpiel's alternate universe/steampunk world on the brink of war, I was introduced to new characters, locations and, my personal favorite, uniquely crafted and imagined steampunk machinery. At only 20,000 words and 141 pages on my Nook, this was fun, superfast read. Karpiel certainly excels at setting up and executing her novels; each one so far has had a different feel, with original characters and excitingly
Nathan Lanchard and Gilda Sinclair virtually grew up together. Their relationship has never been easy. Not since their one night together and certainly not since Gilda's father willed the controlling interest of his company, Sinclair Airship, to Nathan instead of his only child, Gilda. All the airship talk had my eyes glazing over and I was very close to DNF'ing or skimming. I did neither though. I did like the characters and the writing was decent. Although it could have used an additional read through, as there were many spelling/grammatical errors.

I loved the smexy times, which were extremely hot! The end
Great short in the Steampunk style.
