Picking up the remote with one hand and the coffee mug with the other, she alternated between surfing channels and sipping wine. She stopped at two naked females passionately exploring each other’s body. Blankly staring at the screen she finished the bottle of red wine, consumed her precooked, fast-frozen meal in a container and had changed to white wine, without noticing ...more

Daryl Devore’s A KEPT WOMAN explores the dynamics of power exchange. What starts out as a sexy business proposition turns into a surprisingly tense relationship. When Derek and Adrienne are unable to define to themselves exactly what the boundaries and rules for their relationship are it provokes nervous worry in both of them.
There is a very satisfying HEA at the end. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by the talented Ms Devore. Her style of writing is multi-layered, mak
I loved it loved it loved it. whew! Be prepared to have a fan handed to cool off and something to drink this one is one hot read. Unforgettable in my books. Arianne really know how to treat her man and make him fall in love with her. Its a must read.
This book was not what I expected (a story where a woman finds herself in a situation she can't escape), which is not a bad thing. The first half had a lovely - if somewhat cliched - fairy tale feel to it. Everyday woman meets and falls in love with unattainable, grossly rich, ridiculously handsome man. I felt sure I knew how it would play out. Then things shifted in the middle and became - for lack of a better word - odd. I really don't know if this was good odd, or just odd. I continually felt ...more

Ok well this one was a bit bizarre for me. The first half started out awesome! I loved it. It seemed like could have been the precursor to FSoG and B2U. It was mysterious, erotic and so good. I couldn't wait to keep reading.
But then somewhere around the 1/2 to 3/4 way mark it got bizarre! I mean, weird! I was rolling my eyes and literally saying "What the f**k?". And "What the hell just happened there?!". It seemed like the book just split into a different personality and turned into a complete

This book would have been a DNF if I didn't have to finish it for a challenge. The dialogue was awful. The use of the word "Gawd" was only the beginning of the decline of my interest in this book.

I really wanted to like this book because it started off kinda funny and light but I just could not get into this.

This was all over the place, never really sure what it should be. And I'm not sure how someone didn't catch that in one paragraph, Arianne's dad recognized Derek from the cover of financial magazines, and the next he was jetting off so Derek can prove he is who he says he is. What?

Would have given it 5 stars if the ending/epilogue was longer, it was ended far too quick.

All starts with an add at the newspaper, a few drinks and a daring proposition. Let the games begin!

Arianne is a bit drunk and a lot broke. Derek is a lot drunk and a bit bored. He wants to keep his sexual life simple. He finds out there is nothing simple a
Book was interesting enough, it's like pretty woman, but differnet. No one ever found out how they met ;) All though there was always reference to how people in his circles would react to them as a couple, it was never really explored. No running into catty biatches, just a whole bunch of warning. What I think I like most about Araianne is that regardless of his mother and him, she never let it get her down. The reason for the 3 stars though, was mainly due how and what I felt I was reading thei ...more

An okay read. Arianne has likeable qualities: honest, graceful and pragmatic. Derek is a little hesitant in terms of admitting/realising his love. But once he is "in", there's no stopping him.

Too bad I am not a big fan of BDSM--really dislike the pain-inflicting aspect of sex--otherwise this could have been a 4-star read. (Cannot understand the appeal, but respect it as a choice, mutually consensual across the parties of course.) For instance, I didn't "get" that part about her returning to th
I quite liked this book. It has similar elements that I have come across in other stories but there were some unique parts that I enjoyed reading too.

I would have rated this book 5 stars however I found reading some parts disappointing. I didn’t like any of the Randolph scenes. At all. And I personally don’t think there was a need for an epilogue as the story seemed to conclude for me after he proposed, met her parents and got approvals from both their parents. In my opinion there was no need fo
This was an okay book, a quick read, but not something I will re-read.

There was something totally far-fetched, yet totally convincing about this story, for the most part. Just when I'd begun to make sense of the whole modern day "courtesian" plot and the H/h are falling in love, the author throws us a curve ball (view spoiler) of out left field...then just as fast, it's resolved and the H/h move on to HEA. Otherwise, it would have been a 4 star rating for me, but that subplot really wasnt necessary. I was left con ...more
this was way too short to even be called a book
A 'Pretty Woman' feel with a BDSM slant. Synopsis blurb sounded interesting and I did enjoy the beginning of the read and beginning stage of their 'agreement' scenes.

The storyline did veer into a confusing jumble of adventure/erotica scenes for me that just didn't have a natural flow or logical progression.

Not really sure if I didn't appreciate the book as I should have or just couldn't get into it to.

this book is definitely exceed my expectation. it started of as a little so-so, builds up to be better and got to be great around the middle of the book. but than the ending.. it's a little so-so again . it got me a little dissapointed, cause i'm sure the author can pump it up to be better.

This was a decent read. It wasn't one of those books that you can't put down. But it is a great book to read when you are recovering from a terrible book hang over. there was lots of sex in this book which is nice. there are several spots where you go, WTF did I just read. Decent but not OMG.
Not a bad read just a bit all over the place. The story line tried to have a BDSM theme but none of the characters had a real connection to the lifestyle. The story has potential but it felt like it was rushed and it never built any real angst. I enjoyed it okay but never really connected.
Every girls fairy tale is to find a hot sexy considerate, did I mention HOT lover billionaire boyfriend then husband. The relationship development was steamy and the ending made me smile. After reading A Kept Woman, I will look for this author again! I highly recommend!
What a lovely book! It reminded me a lot of His Sugar Baby, especially in the beginning, So if you liked that one, you'll love this one too!!

This book had me at the very first page.It is fille with love, understanding, acceptance and so much more.It was amazing.I was telling my boss about it at work today.Wonderful book.
This started out interesting, then it got stupid at the island, and then it was just long (when was it going to end?).

Read it after reading readers' reviews - the quality of the book/story is exaggerated.
