This anthology of short stories benefits the breast cancer research organization Save the Ta-tas. Its sister anthology, Heat Wave, cranks up the steam, but these short stories are more like a warm ocean breeze.
The first story is The Summer Prince by Carol Oates. Her lyrical writing sets the scene of the Beltaine celebration in a small Irish town years ago. Niamh is a 15 year-old sneaking around a party meant only for those 16 and older. A handsome stranger, a friend's unexpected cruelty, and the...more

Summer Lovin' Anthology: Summer Breeze
My Rating: 4 of 5
I read Summer Breeze after Heat Wave. I'll be honest, I saved this one to read second because I knew it would be, well, I'll be honest, mostly sexless. I know! I know!
Now that the confession is out of the way... I LOVED IT. I loved every single one of the stories included here. I did a lot of cheesy girly swoony sighing. I'm surprised a glove didn't appear on my hand while I waved my face to circulate air. I had the vapors! I needed smelli...more
My short story is in this anthology. Here's the blurb:
Full Speed Ahead
When Teagan's Navy linguist boyfriend pulls extra duties a thousand miles away at the Great Lakes Naval Station, she suspects he's stepping out on her. Or worse, the Navy is acting like a demanding mistress again, something she can't compete with. But when a charity fashion show turns her suspicions upside down, she has to face whether she's cut out to be a Navy wife.

I normally don't comment on anything containing my writing, in the case of this anthology I think it would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to share my enjoyment of the other stories. I'm not much of a short story reader. I don't know why since I've read some really wonderful stories in the past.
Having said that I thoroughly enjoyed Summer Breeze. In some cases it was my first experience of reading the authors and I will certainly be trying more of their writing. To top it off, proceed...more

This was a collection of sweet love stories, some YA, some adult, that was put together to benefit Save the Ta-tas. All of the seven stories in it were a light as a summer breeze, but the two that stood out the most were Jennifer Lane's "Swim Recruit" and Nicki Elson's "Sway". "Swim Recruit" was an excellent YA contemporary (and the only story that did not take place in summer) that with some tough topics in a short amount of time, but never felt overburdened. "Sway" could almost be put on the o...more
