Review of Book:
David Santos writes a wonderful story about a High School boy named Das and it begins in January when a new girl attends his school. The main character is Das is a church going Christian. Das has a dream to meet and date only a Christian girl and learns many teenage lessons about life as he has friends in school that can tests his patience. Kristen is the new girl and she is a nice looking good whom every man dreams to date.
The pastor of the church invites Das to “preach” a sermon to the youth group and he does an amazing job. He shows that the youth have access to the iPhone, ipad, internet and that technology does allow them to bring the Bible with them everywhere they go. He mentions that atleast this is a good option and a positive impact to this generation. I agree that adults have no problems carrying around a Bible, but the younger age groups usually do not wish to do that. This is especially true in high school as peer pressure is so inviting.
In the end of this book you will learn who Das did find to date as a Christian and all the fun things life brings during his high school days. I would recommend this easy to read book to anyone who is a Christian but to the younger generation. It really was a nice story as I have had to feel like the “odd ball” with Christianity and all of its daily challenges. In the end, it is about putting God first in our lives and not trusting manmade rules. Just try it yourself, read the Bible and the answers to your questions will be there.

I enjoyed the story and the inclusion of sermons etc, though as a Christian who doesn't know much about the Seventh Day Adventist church the a-few-sermons-a-week element confused me; I'd just decided to view the Wednesday sermon as a type of home group when there was another one, by which point I just resolved to accept that whenever there's a sermon it's because there is one that day in that church. The final pairing was predictable but I was still interested in reaching that ending.

It's a really short story. On one hand, this doesn't allow for the author to create depth or subplots, which I would have found interesting, but on the other hand it enables the reader to access the story and its messages quickly, and was perfect for me at the moment as the size enabled me to read it now without significantly delaying me getting back to the other books I'm reading.

While the story was interesting, though, I found that grammatical errors and repetition of particular words and phrases, such as the use of 'jokingly' whenever a character joked about something, and the development of ideas, such as when in one chapter Das knows that he wants to talk about technology and then in the next he realises that he wants to talk about technology due to a comment by his parents, really hampered my enjoyment of it. The novel would have benefited from an objective editor picking out issues with expression and repetition. Some elements of the depiction of elements of high school also seemed false and events such as the order of sermons and debates seemed to be only there to advance the plot, rather than having a specific, believable in-story reason.

The book's content seems to be aimed at people in their mid teens but the way it was expressed at those in their early teens, so I'm not sure whether part of my problem with the writing style is just that I'm out of the target age group or due to my own reading background - most of my friends are readers and might find this to be young or simplistic, but my non-reader friend, although she wouldn't be interested in the story itself (she's more of a Home and Away/Neighbours/Packed to the Rafters-watching girl), would probably find the length and style of this book make it one of the few ones she could actually make herself get through.

I feel like the subplot/depth issue is a personal thing - I would prefer other things going on and more depth in the main plotline but many other people may not - but the editing is something simple that would have improved the book in general; I find that grammatical and spelling errors, etc, while minor individually, influence how I view other aspects of a work too. For example, a close relative of mine has been applying for a job recently and a family friend in that field told us to advise him to make sure his cover letter and resume is perfect in terms of grammar and spelling because otherwise it won't make the first cut and the resume might not even be read. It's a different situation here, simultaneously because this is a writing-based job and so written expression is important and because it's not as if grammatical errors will stop everybody from reading it, especially considering its length and the fact that by the time it starts becoming an issue you're far enough through that you may as well keep going and finish the story, but they do affect your impressions either consciously or subconsciously.(less)

The book is self published and a sin all self published or "amature" work. You will find mistakes. Nothing extreme. if you can get past the errors you will enjoy it.

The book is basically a romance. A typical romance with an ugly duckling, but it's the personality of Jessica and all the humor that made this book fun. There was also a lot of drama. For a beginner I think David did a great job. A few negatives, but I'm a reviewer not a critic.

Excellent. I'm not much of a reader, but the fact that the book is doubles spaced helped me get through it quickly! For the authors first book. A high school "dropout" Unemployed 27 year old single guy. I think he did a fantastic job with his first book. You have to really know the guy to appreciate this book more. Cant wait to read his other books.

This book was very good it has two sides to it it's funny and the sad especially when the princess announces who she would like to be her prince and the nasty things she said about Das. An excellent story for the authors first book.definitely a highly recommended read.

Oh boy, did I liked this book!!! I finished it in 4 hrs. I can't wait for the 2nd part. David A. really has a talent. May the Lord keep helping him. I really recommend this book.
