This omnibus collects the first four volumes (chapters 1-17). of the manga Highschool of the Dead, with completely colored art. I'll talk a bit about the contents but will be focusing just as much on the format in this review. For detailed thoughts on each volume please see my individual reviews.

Highschool of the Dead is contains a lot of things I don't normally care for in my reading habits. Gore, zombies, and absurd levels of ecchi fanservice are not usually my cup of tea. It all comes togethe

If the title's not a giveaway, this is a zombipocalypse. I burned out on the genre about the time Romero started making all those crappy sequels to the original Dead trilogy, but I'm still interested if someone does something interesting with it, such as Zombieland. HotD isn't the most original take on zombies -- to a large degree it's just Dawn in Japan -- but it's well done with characters who are interesting and intelligent (at least those who survive the initial onslaught). The walking dead descend on aJapanesehigh school in the manga Highschool of the Dead, written byDaisuke Satō and illustrated byShōji Satō. The story follows a ragtag group of students who band together in an attempt to survive the zombieapocalypse.Takashi Komuro is our hero, whose best friend has just stolen his girl.Rei Miyamoto is the girl in question, who finds herself suddenly single again after zombies take a bite out of her new boyfriend. This throws a wrench into the prototypical manga lov

Collects the first 17 acts of the Highschool of the Dead series in vibrant, beautifully remastered artwork. I will warn that this omnibus is graphic. While not the best manga I've read, the story is compelling and fast paced. The story focuses on how people respond to the outbreak from forming groups of religious zealots, to going it solo in the hopes of finding ones family.

Zombie apocalypse plot, Japan manga style, Amazing art by Shouji Sato ( does sexy hentai and non-hentai artwork), FULL COLOR. what is not to like ?!? This Omnibus book is also reasonably priced, with a hidden dust cover jacket art.

This is truly the epitome of all English translated manga. If they continue to produce this sort of quality of books, I am gonna feel sorry for my wallet. Thank god there is Book 2 ! ENJOY !!!

Dear YENPRESS, I would like to PREORDER Triage X and FIRE FIRE FIRE Omnibus
Covering the first four volumes of HOTD, this edition is massive and features bonus material throughout. The full-color illustrations add a lively touch to this dark zombie series. In spite of the name, I do not recommend this for younger readers, particularly due to the fanservice. It is definitely for mature readers, preferably those who are already familiar with the common tropes of zombie lore (or fans of the anime). This does go beyond what is covered in the anime series, so those wondering ...more
