The story begins with a man named Judeus finding a strange woman washed up on the beach who he later finds out is called Miranda. I was simply blown away by this book. I've never read anything like it before. It takes the ideas of evolution, genetics, alternate universes, religion and many other things and expands and develops them in a way you would never have imagined. It takes you on a journey from Miami in the United States through the wilderness of Africa to Rome and then creates a realistic and creative dystopian world from an ancient virus at the bottom of the sea.
