Superb history of East Totem West, accompanied by all of their psychedelic posters with the stories behind them that many "sixties people" remember quite well. My favorite poster is still "Awakening," by Irene McHugh, which I bought in the spring of 1967 at a head shop on Wells Street in Chicago's Old Town. That was my first psychedelic poster, soon to be followed by about two dozen more, and its classical Indian art references still resonate with me today. If you never read anything else about ...more
