I've always loved short stories, the snapshot glimpse of a character feels so much more focused than a novel. This anthology is based around the theme of the "soul's road" and there's a great variety in the stories. From post-apocalyptic, to stories exploring relationships between lovers or between parents and children, to the road of a fugitive: all the stories examine the idea of the road in different and interesting ways. This is a delightful collection of short fiction by recent master's degree graduates of Goddard College's creative writing program. It is amazing how fourteen writers and their editor took me down their wonderfully different roads. Lovely writing.
