Where did most of the design influences from the movie come from? What does the floor plan of Bag End look like? How were digital techniques used to increase the scale of Middle-Earth on screen? Who made the Orcs look so fearsome?

Just because I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to all things 'fellowship', I loved this book. It has some really nice insights into how the designs were implemented throughout the movie and it's good fun to watch the movie back after reading this so you notice all the little details you probably missed the first time.

Awesome!!! I really really enjoyed this book. A very good look into all the hard work that went into creating this spectacular movie. I was really taken by all the drawings that were done before production even started...all the time and effort that went into getting the look that we finally saw on the big screen.

I never really thought I could get into the Lord of the Rings but this has become a must read for everyone in my book. The world created is so vivid and the characters so real...

For the hardcore fans of the books and movies, a wonderful book about all the lovely art behind the movies.

I'm always so inspired by the art contained in this series of books. The writing is lacking mainly due to the fact there is none. But the pictures tell a thousands stories. Absolutely awe inspiring and a tribute to the efforts in those gorgeous films, even with the work that didn't make it to the film.

This book has lots of interesting things to look at. It's got a boatload conceptual drawings and paintings, and lots of information from the artists and wardrobe people.
