I'm afraid I was not a very big fan of this one. The book starts out with a great action scene, the beginnings of an intriguing mystery, and I really liked Deznee's punky look and sarcastic attitude. Unfortunately, I felt as though she believed everything she was told, asked far too few questions, ran away with Kale far too quickly, and she started to get a little too boy-crazy for my taste.

While some of the events are certainly fun and kept my interest at first, they seemed to be so loosely pl...more

My 8 reasons why you should read Touch

Touch is one of my favorite books of 2011. There I said it. So don’t be surprised in December when Touch shows up on those lists! I have pre-ordered a paperback copy and I bought it for my Kindle. CRAZY!

I’m writing this review with my heart beating out of my chest and my hands shaking. I have plans to re-read all of this awesomeness again as soon as I’m finished writing this gushing review!

His voice came in soft, cracked rasps. "No, I don't. But I would kill for you. Only you."

I'm fascinated with stories in which people can harm another person with a touch. I loved the way it was executed in Holly Black's Curseworkers series, so I was happy to see a similar concept introduced in this book as well. Even though the first half of Touch started sort of shaky, I felt like the second half really stepped it up on the action....more

I love it when you don't know what to expect from a book and it ends up being awesome. Touch was the perfect example. I picked this up thinking it would be just another passable YA paranormal, but it was fantastic. It reminded me a lot of the TV show Heroes - people with supernatural abilities get locked up by this agency who want to use them for testing or for their own purposes. The energy vibrating from the book, though, was very much like The Summoning series by Kelley Armstrong - and had a...more

Touch Review on K-Books

I didn't really know what I expected when I started this book but if definitely wasn't that. Wow. I really enjoyed this book. I definitely didn't expect it to be so action-packed and I was pleasantly surprised with this book.

Dez has always believed her father was a lawyer, since her mother died giving birth to her, her and her father have never been close and she will do anything to piss him off. But then Dez meets Kale, the strange boy who seems to know nothing of the wor...more

WOW, my adrenaline is pumping right now. You know how in books the character usually says, “I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding”? Well, I couldn’t breathe the last half of this book. My muscles were tense and my heart was pounding. I’m so impressed with TOUCH. I was hooked from chapter one. And the cover?! I can’t stop staring at it.

Dez is not your typical girl. She’s hardcore. She lives for moments of adrenaline rushes and freedom. Underneath her tough exterior though, is a big heart...more

I was intrigued by the idea of this book. It reminds me a bit of the X-Men and that’s cool with me. I found out about this book one day by stalking Net Galley and it sounded interesting so I requested it and was delighted to be approved.

On to my thoughts about this debut novel: I have to say that it was one of my favorites this year. The plot is fast moving and action-packed. The characters were likeable, some are loveable an...more

OH HOT DAMN!!!!!!! *wiping off sweat* That was some crazy intense shit there! Sorry, for the foul mouth. But, HOLY HELL! Okay so seriously, I had no idea what to expect when I bought this. I stumbled upon it on my nook and saw it was like 5 bucks. So I figured, hey what the hell. I will give it a try. Not to mention, the guy on the cover. DO YOU SEE HIM??? Yea, he is definitely some eye freakin candy alright. So I went for it. After seeing mostly all FIVE STARS, I figure what do I have to lose?...more

Seventeen-year-old Deznee Cross’ soul-purpose in life is to piss off her father any way she can. When a hot guy stumbles through the woods and falls at her feet as she is walking home from a party, she sees this as the perfect opportunity to annoy her father. She’ll take mister HotStuff home with her, let him use their shower and maybe let him stay the night. The guy’s name, she learns, is Kale, and to say he is odd is an understatement. He freaks out when she tries to touch him, and he is compl...more

If you are a fan of X-Men or Heroes, then you are going to love Touch by Jus Accardo!

Touch brought out so many emotions in me while reading it. I finished reading it in one sitting and loved everything about it. Putting it down was not an option for me. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next, and how it ended. The characters were super funny, especially Dez. Her life was completely turned upside down by bringing a stranger home as a joke to her father. By doing that she opened...more

The first time I heard about Touch was actually a post I came across about the changes in the cover. Of course, after seeing the new cover, I thought with a handsome fellow hot guy like that gracing the front, how could I not want to read what's inside?! And after reading the summary I really knew I had to! Now, I received my e-arc copy in my e-mail after midnight. I stuck it on my kindle, sat in my chair and didn't get up until the wee hours of the morning. And by wee I mean I stayed up to 5 or...more

After a very long wait, my mom FINALLY bought this for me for Christmas (I knew she had it before Christmas, but she refused to give it to me early). I've been dying to read this book, no pun intended (get it?).

Touch starts off in the middle of somewhere. Unlike other books, whose beginnings usually begin with introductions and a little background, Touch started off in the middle of somewhere. That somewhere being Dez sliding off a roof. Aside from this, within the first few pages, Dez meets Ka...more

Touch was an enjoyable read. We have Dez, our badass main character. I’m so use to the shy, outcast, insecure girl in stories, and Dez was NOTHING like that. She lived to feel something, which meant she did dangerous things, and also lived to piss her dad off. I know she sounds like a brat but she is on my top ten list of awesome girl characters. She was badass but she was sweet (in a way..) and she really is a nice person.

Ok then there is Kale. I laughed so many times with this boy... he's SO...more

The writing is amazing, the characters are spectacular, the story is unique and the relationships are so addicting. Not to mention Kale is hot as hell (and adorable in so many ways).

"I think I understand that now. I think I love you." -Kale

This is how this book went: Action, cute boy rolls down a hill, action, action, action, kissing, action, running, kissing, action, cute boy kisses some more, action, action, running, running, action, kissing, cute boy smiles. And then more action. Exactly like that. And it was fabulous!

This book was a wild ride, from the moment I started it it was just completely fast paced, but a single dull moment. It's full mystery and suspense. the he...more

Jus Accardo has delivered a story that will appeal to readers who like their books packed with action, suspense, twists and turns and ROMANCE. Oh, yes. Sweet, sweet romance and delicious kisses stolen in the middle of the night. Kisses that should not even be possible. Kisses that result in accelerated heartbeats and bodies smooshing together. Kick-ass, thrilling, fun, and seductive, Jus Accardo created a FANTASTIC story that has everything you could ask for.

We start off with Deznee Cross, Dez for short, who has no problem acting out to piss off her stern father. On her way home from a party she meets Kale, who is on the run. Figuring that bringing a boy home would make her fath...more

What a brilliant start to this wonderful new series by Jus Accardo. Touch is the first book in the Denazin series and had me glued to the pages from the first to the very last.

The story begins with a slightly intoxicated Deznee Cross on her way home from a party and finding a bare-foot and bleeding, gorgeous boy with piercing blue eyes tumbling down an embankment with absolute fear showing on...more

WELL. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Not because I'd heard bad reviews or anything, I just thought that it was going to be full of plot holes the size of craters. Why? I don't know.

Dez is an interesting character. She's easy to relate to most of the time, and she wasn't weak and never whined. She did whatever she had to do to save Kale and the others she loved. My only problem with her was that I would have liked to seen a little more vulnerability in her, or maybe a hobby that...more

Jus Accardo writes killer chemistry with an action packed and emotional story. Touch is possibly the best read of the year for YA paranormal romance, certainly one of the best debut novels of the year.

While reading Touch I was swallowed by Dez's emotions. I felt anger that was ignited by an infuriating father and his lack of parental relationship. I wasn’t just ticked off as an adult reading Touch, I was actually pissed off in a way I haven’t felt since I was 16. I also felt the rush of adrenal...more

This book epitomizes "epic-ness at its pinnacle"; It is an electrifying, stunning debut.

I don't know what to say about this book, cause frankly, it was perfect, in every sense of that word. The suspenseful, action-packed, complicated but wholesome plot to the professional characterization, they were all wonderfully delivered. The thrill of the chase, hide-and-seek and having to second-guessing everyone's motives, the pain and heartache the characters fel...more

I'm not going to lie...I totally picked this book for the cover. Have any of you out there ever watched the television series Roswell? Well if you have you might have noticed the same thing I did...

That's right...Max! (Played by Jason Behr.) I seriously believe that if a movie deal is made for this book that Jason Behr should play Kale. I would definitely pay to see that! So yeah...there's my confession...laugh at me if you will.

Touch was a good start to what I hope will become a great YA series. Deznee is a a great heroine, she's not one of those cookie cutter YA heroines who are innocent, perfect and holier than thou..no Deznee likes to party, drink and tease boys.. she'll do anything to piss off her dad who she doesn't get along with.
Deznee is returning home from a party when a boy lands at her feet, he's being chased by some men with guns..Deznee decides to help him, this inevitably leads to a whole lot of...more

I enjoyed this book more than I expected to. The first chapter was a bit confusing, but after that it was fast paced and interesting. Many things happen and I really liked the plot and the characters.

The first chapter was a bit confusing, because the begin setting is a bit strange. Also I had to get a feel for who the lead character was, but all that confusion melted away in the second chapter. Chapter 2 already contained some action and instead of a long winding introduction it immediately star...more

I absolutely loved TOUCH. I was captivated from the very first page and did not want to stop until I had devoured every last word. It was full of action and adventure and I never knew what crazy twist was going to be revealed next. Deznee and Kale's slowly building relationship was so sweet and refreshing. I adored them separately and I LOVED them together. Kale's innocence in all the small things in their relationship made it the most...more
