Tall, Dark and Fangsome (Immortality Bites #5)

Sarah Dearly's positive attitude is waning. Perky and bubbly no longer describe her and frankly being a vampire is the least of her worries. Gideon Chase, leader of all vampire hunters, is being consumed by Hellfire and his only hope is that Sarah will bite him during a ritual under the full moon and turn him into a vampire.

The series ending, was, in a nutshell, awesome! I loved every word, but I was kind of sad to see it end. I've been so much in-tuned with Sarah Dearly that I was definitely hesitant to say goodbye.
But, nonetheless, this addition is just as exciting and revealing as all of the others. Readers can't help but be drawn into the story, and hopefully like me, you'll be hanging on every word!
Question: Is it just me, or is there always something exciting going on in this series? Seriously, it seems t
So sad to have this story end. I fell completely in love with all of Rowen's characters. A great ending nevertheless! Hoping she'll bring the characters back for yet another adventure!

My English review

I read various reviews and felt I should add a different opinion to the mix. I always read the reviews and am impressed that none so far shares the same feeling I have about Tall, Dark and Fangsome: I HATED it. I've read the previous 4 books, really liked the first, kind of got more of the same in the second, really liked the little spin off on the third, the fourth didn't do it so much for me but this one I had to drag myself to finish reading it.

Sarah Dearly is back for her fifth and final adventure in Tall, Dark & Fangsome. Still battling with the nightwalker curse that was bestowed upon her in Stakes & Stilettos, Sarah is playing "servant" to one of her worst enemies, Gideon Chase. Gideon is a vampire hunter, but for the last several years he has been under the torture of hellfire. He thinks Sarah is his solution and that if she turns him into a vampire, he will conquer said hellfire and be immortal and whole again. In order t ...more

The first time I got to read Michelle’s first book for this series, I was completely and utterly smitten with the way she wrote, her characters and overall everything! I cannot fully explain in depth how in love I am with this series! This is the last book in the immortality bites series, which I was very sad indeed to see it end. This book starts off where it ended in book 4, with Thierry and Sarah broken up, G. Chase still seeking Sarah to sire him, among other things like Sarah’s nightwalker ...more

I received Tall, Dark & Fangsome almost a year ago. Since this is the 5th book in Michelle Rowen's Immortality Bites series, I wanted to read the first four books before I started to read this one. Yeah, that didn't happen. Even though I didn't read the first four books, I wasn't lost as I read this book. I really liked that Michelle Rowen gives you "The Basics," telling you everything that happened before, and as you keep reading, you get a glimpse of what happened before.

First off I would like to mention that I have not read the other books in the series, so I was coming to this book with no previous knowledge of the characters. That said, I absolutely loved the book, and plan to get the earlier books in the series to see how they ended up where they did in the beginning of this book.

The story is witty and engaging and all the characters are wonderful, especially Sarah and Thierry. I even have a soft spot for grumpy Barry! It did not take long for me to feel li

Tall, Dark & Fangsome, the final installment in the Immortality Bites series featuring Sarah Dearly, is another slam-dunk effort for Michelle Rowen. TD & F picks up immediately after the cliff-hanger ending in Stakes & Stilettos. Sarah, still left dealing with her nightwalker problem, must find a way to outsmart her blackmailer and hide her forbidden relationship with Thierry.

Throughout the story, the characters remain true to their established personalities. Part of the charm of thi

Tall, Dark & Fangsome made my all night page turner list. I’d been trying to savor the book, only reading a few chapters a night to make it last. But last night when I was in the middle of the book I just couldn’t put it down; and did an 8 hour marathon read to finish it. Poor Sarah blocked, or should I say staked, at every turn to try and rid herself of her nightwalker curse by Gideon Chase. The desperate, manipulative, and now dieing vampire hunter is hell bent on having Sarah sire him. In ...more
A fitting ending to a hilarious series! In "Tall, dark & fangsome" we accompany vampire Sarah Dearly as she tackles her non-stop and ever increasing problems. There are moments that are sad, moments when you just want to cry... Then there are moments when you laugh uncontrollably at a bus stop full of people... TRUST me, I know from experience. The weird looks they give just make you want to hide in hole somewhere...

Anyway, back on topic :)

Tall, Dark and Fangsome was a nice wrap up to the series, it tied up a lot of loose ends but left the story of Sarah and Thierry open for more.

Vampires are a dime a dozen these days. Everywhere you turn, there’s a new one ready to take your blood to prolong his un-life. Soon, there are going to be more vamps than humans, and then where will we be? (Read I Am Legend by Richard Matheson for the answer.) Between Twilight, True Blood, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, no human will be left unbitten, except that none of these vampires actually attack humans.

Tall, Dark and Fangsome adds nothing new to the decade old discussion of vampires. As we

I'm surprised this book is being marketed as adult rather than YA. It's superficial, cliched and contains the flowery nonsense that usually litters the YA vampire genre.

Honestly, this is the first book I've read in the series but I tend to read books out of order anyway, and using my previous experiences with reading sequels and final books first, I can confidently say that this book was extremely lacking. My curiosity did not demand that I rush to read the previous books to learn of the histo

Tall, Dark and Fangsome is a book I jumped at when it was offered, mostly because I'd seen Michelle Rowen's Stakes and Stilettos floating 'round the blogs earlier this year... I mean, how do you not want to read a book called Stakes and Stilettos? Especially if you like shoes... And vampire books... *grin*

I liked Sarah. She's funny. Compassionate. Did I mention funny? But how oh how could she have feelings for Gideon?? I mean, the dude's a nutjob. Gideon aside, there were a few other things that

My thoughts...This is the fifth and final book, so if you are new to the Immortality Series, I recommend you start with book 1, Bitten and Smitten. This last installment did a great job of wrapping up the series. The ending was very satisfying and I wasn't left hanging. Picking up from the previous book, Sarah is dealing with the fact that she is a Nightwalker. This means horrible blood lust, sun allergy, super vamp strength and a wild side. She is really tested in this book as she has to learn ...more

I found that this was the last one, oh that is what I get for starting a series at book 4 ;) and then reading book 5. But at least I can go back and read the first one.

Where to start then. Our dear heroine Sarah is in trouble. In this book she has a dark side and a light side. The dark side is clearly an idiot so that is not the side to root for. As she has been cursed to be a bloodthirsty monster by a witch. I actually liked the bad side in a way too, it was a good bad side. And her true self i

Sarah Dearly's vampire life is not all B-positive cocktails. A curse made her a nightwalker, the most vicious vamp there is; the charm she wears to curb her deadly tendencies is losing its juice; and a hunter from hell is turning up the heat. Gideon Chase will kill the ones she loves most if she doesn't obey his orders. That includes breaking up with master vampire Thierry and turning Gideon into an immortal vamp so he can escape a doom of eternal hellfire.

A satisfying end to the "Immortality Bites" Series. The final installment in the series was nothing to shout wasn't the best one, but it also wasn't the worst. It was very much a continuation of the fourth book, and I sometimes has trouble remembering if something happened at the beginning of this book or the end of the fourth one. The end was kind of anti-climactic...the conflict was sort of just resolved with a snap of the finger...nothing extremely exciting in my opinion. However, ...more

Three short months as a vampire has certainly made life interesting for Sarah Dearly. She's survived vampire hunters, earned a reputation as the 'Slayer of Slayers' and still makes time for her friends and 600-year old boyfriend. But her current situation is a dozy. After being cursed at her high school reunion, Sarah is a night walker with blood thirst tendencies. Now Gideon Chase, former leader of the hunters, is threatening to harm her loved ones unless she breaks up with Thierry and turns hi ...more

Okay, so I really enjoyed this series.

What I should not have done was read two FINAL books in series that I enjoyed one after the other. Not to say they both weren't good (and I enjoyed the way this one ended just fine), but it was just kinda bittersweet.

Sarah Dearly is no Jane Jamison, but she amuses me. I especially liked the internal dialogue between herself and what she thought of as the voice of her steadily worsening Nightwalker curse.

It was a very enjoyable and entertainin
