Wickedly sexy James Bowen is a bad boy of the highest order -- tattoos and attitude included -- which unfortunately ranks way up on Tate's not-a-chance-in-hell list, right there along with skydiving naked over Teheran and juggling Ebola vials just for kicks. But what the heck, she's on holiday, the guy is absolutely irresistible, and she needs to unplug from her life. With...more

I'll confess that I only start reading this book because I wanted to read the second in the series and I just can’t start reading a series in the middle. I've got always to start from the first.
And in this moment I can honestly say: Thank God for that!

This is a damn good book. It’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s romantic and in some moments (okay, plenty of moments), it’s really steamy.
And it has a simple story line that balances between sweet and sexy with no major angst or sadness, which I found...more

Tate is in Florida visiting her mother while on vacation. While there she meets James, the son of a neighbor. He's the perfect picture of a "bad boy" if she ever saw one with devastatingly good looks and prominent tattoos, she knows his type. At least she thinks she does. He's exactly the type her sister goes for and those doomed romances never end well. So when James shows an obvious interest in Tate, she is initially hesitant. She doesn't have time for drama and she needs to guard her fragile...more

The first in the Bowen Series and a seriously smexy romance.

James and Tate first meet when Tate is on a covert ops mission with her mother crawling across his Father’s lawn looking for her missing cat! After a less then auspicious start, they have an intense physical attraction to one another that burns white hot. They can hardly resist each other despite the fact that James’ Father and Tate’s Mother live in a seniors retreat!

After several hilarious coitus interruptus moments, they start an inte...more

Dump her. Dump her. Dump her.

I think James has a hearing defect. He did not listen to me.

In fact, this was a one-star read for me. But I felt sorry for James and I had to add a second star. Tate was an incredible B.I.T.C.H.! Well, James was tested but he did persevere. To persevere is to maintain purpose in spite of obstacles and hurtful dis...more

I stopped reading at 52%. I disliked the h so much that it overshadowed the entire story. Loved James though...despite the fact that he liked the h. And I couldn't figure out "why" James even liked Tate. The sexual chemistry? The reverse psych cliche that she thinks he's scum? Great character totally wasted. When I realized that at 50% I wasn't rooting for a HEA but begging for James to RUN.... yeah too many other books, to little time. Tate was written to such an extreme from even the first pag...more

Best. Dirty. Talker. Ever! Thank you to my girls for this recommendation. I absolutely LOVED James. Tate was sweet and while I understood her reservations when it came to starting a relationship with James... it got old. I loved this book... the story line was fantastic, the chemistry was hot, and the love was beautiful. I can't wait to read Heavy Issues!

Hum there are so many good reviews about this book that I had to give it a shot.

And let’s face it, an alpha male, bad boy, don’t do the girlfriend thing, don’t want to get attached, but find a girl that makes him lose him mind… that’s just my thing and it kind of remembered me of “beautiful disaster” a bit, with all the bad boy falling in love with the girl but she doesn’t make it easy on him, kind of thing.
What I loved about this book is that the author knew exactly how to balance the steamy h...more

So all in all this book needs some work. How it was published with all of the punctuation errors is beyond me...but for some reason I found myself compelled to finish, and in the end I am glad I did.

Tate is a mess. There is no other way to put it, and who can blame her? She recently lost both her father & brother in a car accident, her mom as up and moved to a retirement home in Florida to escape it all, her sister bailed under the stress, and Tate is left with a family restaurant that she c...more

Whoa!!! This book was SIZZLING HOT!! Just amazing. I was hooked by the story line from the opening page and had a very hard time putting the book down. James is unbelievable, the kinda guy a girl dreams about! He takes talking dirty to whole new level ..LOL!! One of the thing's I loved about him was that even though he was so sexually intense he was still sensitive and sweet at the same time. He was the full package. Tate was a little on the annoying side, she has a stubborn personality but I st...more

Ok. Here's the deal. I loved this book. The writing was funny, smart, emotional and hot. Tate was a bit of a bitch in the beginning, immediately lumping James in with "tattooed bad boys". Calling him a " black hole wrapped up in fancy paper". Um, is it the seventies? Could someone tell me? You know, where tattoos equaled bad boys? Uh oh, he has beautiful, artful, meaningful tattooes on a gorgeous body. Bad news! Did Tate not live through the nineties? Being untattoed was the exception.

James is...more

I really liked this book. The hero was perfect, but I have to be honest the heroine pushed the boundaries of her issues to a heartbreaking scene which caused me a moment of dislike for her. However, she had alot of issues going on, a past tragedy, a bad relationship, and other very serious complications going on so I could understand some of her reluctance at any relationship. But, if you love a man who is willing to go the distance to prove his love to a woman, to fight her battles with her and...more

I couldn't finish it. I returned it. I just could not get into it to save my life. Mostly because I found Tate to be stuck up to the extreme. She judged James before she even knew him just because he had tattoos (hot ones I might add). Meanwhile, she had a clit ring?! PUH-LEASE!!!! Talk about hypocritical. Tattoos don't give off the "bad ass" persona any more than a clit ring. She turned me off of the whole book :/ Personally, James should have gunned his truck in the opposite direction of her a...more

I liked this, it was a fun, easy, hot read.
There were a few things that annoyed me, The description of the girls eyes as been like Husky's was odd & repetitive for a while but then it eased off. & also at one point the author gets her main female character's name wrong!
But other than that it was good...nothing new or startling but still well done.
Tate is a likable h and though she has been through alot she isn't OTT emotional wise & James is definitely a swoon worthy H. Rea...more

2 ½ stars. I skimmed half the sex scenes. I was more interested in the story than the sex.

But if you’re in the mood for a lot of sex, you might like it more than I. It was a good story with interesting characters, until the end. Then I was angry. Too many romance authors do this.

(view spoiler)[ He tells her he loves her. She realizes she loves him too, so she breaks up with him. Her reason is that if she loses him in the future it will be too much grief to bear. Doesn’t matter whether she thinks...more

I have to tell you I laughed out loud during this book over and over again because I could so relate to Tate dealing with her mother. Her mom is a wonderful woman who is a little eccentric (at least that is how we always explained my grandmother who Tate's mom reminds me of)

Tate has made some pretty hefty walls around her heart and made some pretty broad generalizations based on men her sister has been hurt by. Men with tattoos are
bad boys, shiftless, charming heart breakers, and my favorite des...more

Ooh, loved it! Such a fantastic read. Tate and James meet under unusual circumstances...while Tate and her mother are army crawling across James' father's lawn at the retirement village in Florida (at Tate's mother's insistence) in search of the missing--presumed dead--cat Amy. From that unusual introduction the sparks fly. James can't keep his eyes of Tate, and she is equally transfixed. They decide on a no-strings holiday sex fling, but it quickly becomes more. When Tate leaves to head back ho...more

3.5 * This one started out great until Tate!!!!!! She is a discriminatory, judgmental and a prejudice bitch!!!! OMG why did James put up with her????I felt so sorry for James and I wish that what he said at the end: " done banging his head against a wall; he couldn't keep fighting for the both of them - wouldn't actually. Life was too short and he had too much respect for himself to destroy his life chasing after her" that he practiced and maybe applied it in the beginning of their relationship...more
Maureen (The Scarlet Siren)
When we first meet Tate, the leading lady, we learn about the recent tragedy she has been through, and the monumental stresses she's under as a result. So I really feel for her in the beginning of this story. When she meets James while on vacation, she decides to have a quick vacation fling with him. However, he is very judgmental of James, and she assumes she knows the kind of person that he is, simply based on the fact that he happens to have a few tattoos. (Mind you, he has fewer tattoos than...more

Romance at its best!!! Tate is on vacation in sunny Florida, visiting her mother in a retirement community. Tate is trying to spy on the neighbors because her mom swears he stole her cat. That is when Tate meets James and the fireworks start! Tate sterotypes James as a bad boy because of his tattoos and his laid back life style. James is immediately attracted to Tate and they decide a vacation fling is what the doctor ordered, no strings attached. The only trouble is the eldery community will no...more

We appear to have an internet virgin here with Elle Aycart, unless she is another author writing under a pseudonym. The only online presence I can find for her is a Twitter account (linked below) that has no posts yet! Unless she is another author writing under a pseudonym. In fact I was the one who added this book to the Goodreads website. I sincerely hope Ms. Aycart jumps into the social media and web scene because I, for one, would love to read about her process and her life. In today's world...more

Wow. What a great read. From the totally hot awesome lovable James to the sadly mixed up Tate. She just so wanted and needed someone to love her and stick around. What every girl wants I suppose. What a guy. I absolutely fell in love with James. I'd heard so much about this book but honestly it didn't do it justice until I actually read it myself. For me its one of those stories that I would definately read again. More then once.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. It had me giggling at t...more

I liked a lot about this book, including the author's writing, but I disliked the heroine enough that it really affected my enjoyment of the book. I think she improves about halfway through, but her judgmental issues were still a struggle for me. It was a strange dichotomy for me because on the other hand, the hero is perfect. I mean, the perfect guy. He has no flaws that I can see. He's kind, helpful, loving, protective, giving, understanding, has a sense of humor and puts up with her judgmenta...more

I loved "More than Meets the Ink". It's a sweet, sexy romance that makes you feel good with just the right amount of humor thrown in. Tate and James's relationship starts as a vacation fling and while I loved their explosive hot scenes, I also totally loved how James wasn't ready to let her go at the end of their fling. I love books with protective and stubborn alpha heroes and James totally fits the bill in the best possible way. I like the stalker plot, too - it was serious enough to make the...more

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!!

Cathy gives this book 4 Stars for story, 5 Stars for the sex scenes. I Ellen) give this book 5 STARS!!!

Elle Aycart, where have you been all my life? I couldn't put this book down. Ms. Aycart gives us very well-written characters in Tate and James. (And guess what, James has BROTHERS! More Bowen brothers, please!) James is sexy, gorgeous, tattooed, and everything that Tate thinks she needs to run away from. But wouldn’t you know it, James is SEXY and LOVING and he...more

So, as I was reading the first chapter of this book, I was thinking to myself, "How can a book that starts off in a elderly community be hot?". Well, I will tell you, it can and it did. Not only do you have the super amazingly wonderful James Bowen, but you have this quirky array of residents and the slightly messed up Tate. By the time Tate and James ended up back on their home turf I was completely sucked into their world and there was no way I was putting the book down until the very last pag...more

Okay, I am just going to come right out and say it.....I HATED Tate! OMG could she have been more judgemental and condescending??? I could see her being a little standoffish at first but after two days with James she had to know he was different.

Now James I loved from the very beginning....I mean what wasn't there to like? He was funny and polite and helpful and SEX ON A STICK. I laughed every time he got cock-blocked at the retirement village. The poor guy had blue balls for almost a week thank...more

After a colorful array of jobs all over Europe ranging from translator to chocolatier to travel agent to sushi chef to flight dispatcher, Elle Aycart is certain of one thing and one thing only: aside from writing romances, she has abso-frigging-lutely no clue what she wants to do when she grows up. Not that it stops her from trying all sorts of crazy stuff. While she is probably now thinking of a...more

“I'm going to take a wild guess here and say the hard-on you've been sporting all afternoon is not on account of Mr. Nicholson continually bending over to pick up the golf balls, right?"

"For fuck's sake, Dad!" James cursed, looking horrified at his father, who just shrugged his shoulders at his son's shocked expression.

"Whaaat? Just making sure," he added, hardly hiding his amusement.”
