Jenna's been letting life pass her by as she works on her career. But, when she needs to do some research of this kissing kind, things may get a little more heated than she expected.
Research has never been so fun.

WARNING: This 11k short has no vampires, shape shifter or scorching sex, but it might make you snort your diet Coke out your nose.

¿Y YA? ¿AHÍ ACABA?

¡Quiero más, por amor a Dios!

Ahh, lo corto en la mejor parte, o sea.. o sea.. ¡QUIERO MÁS! SEGUNDA CITA, ¡ALGO!

Nooo, quiero maaaas. Ay Dios mío, estaba entreteniendome demasiado y de pronto dice: FIN.

QUE NO. QUE NO. QUE QUIERO MÁS. ¿EN SERIO? ¡LO CORTO EN LO MEJOR!

Ay quiero más, lo juro. Me encanto Ben. Y Dane. Y Jenna, ay Jenna, la adoré en las poquitas páginas de este libro, y a su 'mejor amiga' Lisbeth... por favor, que alguien le diga al camión de la basura que se dejaron u...more

For a book that's so short and has no nakey times, this was fabulous! So cute and sweet, the author did a great job! I'd love there to be another look into their relationship as it progressed!

It's in His Kiss by Caitie Quinn is a charming little pleaser. Jenna ia a YA book writer. Her story involves a teenage character named Chloe in a series of books. Jenna 's agent Ely tells her the editor wants Chloe to experience a first kiss. Jenna is in a panic. She was burned in a relationship and doesn't think she can write romance. Jenna immediately calls her attractive, been around town friend Lisbeth, for advice. They agree to meet and Lisbeth takes her to a bar. Lisbeth dressed down but s...more

[This is a short story and as such it is reviewed differently than full lengths books]

Eeek! How can such a short story be so damn good?!

It was beyond cute. And so funny!

Jenna is a writer. She writes a YA series and her character is in serious need of her first kiss. The only problem is Jenna can’t write it. Why? Well, write about what you know they say. If only Jenna’s first kiss wasn’t one she’d like to forget.

What does she do? Call for backup. And backup comes in form of her extremely-good-loo...more

This is the best novella I’ve read in a long time! It’s In His Kiss by Caitie Quinn is the perfect quick read. It has fun, witty banter, sexy guys, sweet scenes and laugh out loud lines. My only complaint is that it’s not longer. I’m sure it would have been a bit much to keep this up in a full size novel, but it was over way too soon.

Jenna Jameson is nothing like her porn star counterpart. She is a writer of young adult books with very little personal experiences of her own. That’s why when her...more

I have found a new author to love! In her blurb for It's in His Kiss, Quinn warns, "...it might make you snort diet Coke out your nose." I took her at her word and kept my drink at a safe distance. Glad I did. This book was freaking hilarious! I sat and read and chuckled and then howled with laughter until I was gasping for breath and my sides were hurting...but I continued...I am such a masochist.

This was a very cute, funny, romantic tale. Jenna is so funny with her crazy research. And Ben is yummy mm mm. I didn't like her friend, Lizbeth at all. Cute qiuck read for all!

Super cute! Loved it. Wished it were longer, but it was a really fun short story.

I loved this little story, it was so sweet!

A good friend of mine sent me this lovely little story and told me I'd enjoy it. She was right! Although it's only 10k long, this story really is a satisfying and complete read that had a voice exactly like I love to read - cute, witty, sarcastic and just plain fun. Throw in emotional depth and you've got a winner!

This is pure sweet sass and delivers to the reader one of my favorite parts of any romance - the meet cute. I loved it and it's sweetness.

I know some will be worried about the short...more

This was such a quirky, fun and enjoyable read. I really liked this story, even considering how short it was.

Jenna is a YA author who's publisher wants the main character in her books to experience her first kiss. Jenna wants to protect the character and thinks she's not ready but really it's Jenna who is not ready to move forward after being burned by her high school/college sweetheart.

Pushed into going out by her really appalling excuse for a friend (I absolutely loathed Lisbeth), she uses the...more

As a reader, I strongly gravitate toward science fiction and fantasy, and all the various variations. The books that most resonate tend to be those which make me think, whether because a tremendous observation about life in general comes through in the writing, or because the concepts explored provide great brain fodder as the peruse ideas about space travel, technology, aliens, or, yes, werewolves and vampires and the like.

It's perhaps surprising that someone with that reading preference is rea...more

This is a really fast read. Only 40 some pages, but I just loved it.

Ely is a writer of YA books. Her agent is pushing her to have her 16-year-old character from her series experience her first kiss. As Ely lives through her writing and has no experience herself, she calls on her friend to help her out.

Lisbeth is a hot looking siren, you know the type. All of the guys crowd around her vying for her attention as she preens and flirts, while you are brushed aside.

Ely doesn’t care about all that. Sh...more

Jenna is an author who is socially awkward on the outside, but possesses a sharp wit and is keenly observant of everyone around her. When her friend Lisbeth takes her out in the guise of helping Jenna research for her book, the two of them embark on what at first looks like a typical girls' night out.

On the surface this reads like a quirky, fun adventure but it really is a lot more than just another snarky-voiced romp. The setting is SO familiar. You're dragged into a situation where you're exp...more

Hmm there seems to be a common theme with this short story and the novella The Last Single Girl. The plain jane with the beautiful, yet ugly on the inside friend, coming out on top for once.
Once again Quinn demonstrates her ability to mix humour, warmth and a bit of spicy underlying good ol' animalistic attraction.
The main character is a YA author doing research for her novel and the initial conversation with her agent is Quinn having a little fun and poke at authors in general.

Jenna is a writer of YA novels. Her agent wants the 17 year-old heroine of her novels to experience her first kiss. Jenna is reluctant. Since it's been a while since Jenna experienced her own first kiss (or any kiss for that matter), her friend Lisbeth suggests they go to a bar and do some research. Since Lisbeth is a man-magnet and Jenna is accustomed to standing in the shadows, what develops next is both funny and heartwarming.

This was a really cute story - great character development for som...more

This is an absolutely delightful short story, just like the first one in the series. Quinn has a talent for cooking a tale down to its sweet essence, leaving you wanting more but feeling full after a mere 42 pages.

This book was cute. No nakedness, no overly dramatic dialogues, and believable characters. Well written to boot. While I didn't end up snorting Diet Coke out my nose, it did elicit a few laughs.
Cute story, characters and some witty dialogue. A 3 to 3.5 stars!

The heroine is lovable and funny. I think most of us will recognize something of ourselves in her. We've all had that awkward moment where we've felt less than our female friend. This friend however, is easy to hate. Jealous, not really liking anyone but herself, least of all our heroine.

And it's refreshing to read about a hero that sees through the awful friend's mask and finally gives the heroine her kiss. Cause that's what this book is all about, after all, the kiss.

I like all the clumsy, awk...more

I adored this. It took an hour to read and it was lighthearted yet heartwarming and left me feeling happy! The beginning was a great surprise--Caitie hooked me and didn't let go till the end.

What a cute, fun, romantic story! I snorted with laughter several times.

I only wish this was longer. I wanted to know more about Jenna's backstory, and I wanted to see where this relationship went.

Definitely recommended for a fun way to spend half an hour.

Though I sometimes got lost for a moment in this book, I loved it. It's a short story that has it all. Now write a full length one!

It is really hard to give this short story true stats. This story was next to perfect for a freebie. Jenna needs to add some fluff to her next book and to do this she must find out what it feels like to have a first kiss (evidentially she doesn’t get out much or her best friend takes all the limelight). There were quite a few LOL...more

Loved the voice and characters. Shame it's so short - I could have easily read it as a full-length novel.

What a Zinger! This is short and cute. The characters are sweet. The definition if a good friend.

Cute & quirky

This was such a cute, clean, short story. I really enjoyed how Ben showed Jenna that it's not always about how you're built & can flirt.

Disjointed. Maybe too much to expect evenness in a novella.

Cute and fun! Wish it was longer! !

Caitie writes stuff. Stuff that’s funny — hopefully.

If it’s not funny, you can totally blame the weather, or her lack of chocolate, or the formatting, or her cat. Wait, she doesn’t have a cat. Scratch that last one.
