I gave this book 3 stars because it fell short of its potential. I loved the premise-a young man that discovers he is destined to follow his wizard heritage, protect the forests, and awaken his very own dragon. However, the storyline ended up feeling scattered and the characters lacked development. It had a touch of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, and many other fantasy books.
