Romancing the Book
Review by Shannon: Who doesn’t love a paranormal romance that has a hot military man who’s tough as nails on the outside but squishy as a marshmallow on the inside paired with a heroine that can stand on her own but knows when to reach out for help? We get both of these things in exciting entry in the Guardians of Dark series.

Emily Parkington learned to fly before she could drive and has been trying to maintain the same dedication her mother had for Praxis Air. Trouble is, as a minority shareho

Spec ops soldier Sam Archer suspects Praxis Air of being involved in spreading the latest biological weapon: zombies. His idea: an army of reanimated corpses. Now Sam must infiltrate Praxis Air, find out who is involved and stop the infestation before it wipes out the human race. And he can only hope that his sexy new boss is in ...more

It was ok, but I didn't love it and the style and tone of the writing wasn't my favorite. The writer goes too far in making the main characters perfectly mannered and likable. The main characters didn't cause me to have much emotional response because they didn't seem real. The entire first half of the book was just setting up the main characters as a couple and they didn't encounter any real obstacles with the bad guys or zombies until 2/3 of the way through. It got a little more interesting th ...more

This book seems to bring everything to a close. Things were done in a way that leave me satisfied.

Emily is in a bad situation, she knows something is wrong and is trying to figure it out. When Sam shows up and she finds him sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong. Soon Sam has to decide whether to trust her or not and they are thrown into a crazy situation.

Dead Alert is a quick, fun read involving a trifecta of attributes guaranteed for entertainment: airplanes, a man in uniform, and zombies! There is also a lot of hot lovin' and butt kickin', which is always enjoyable!

Bianca enjoys mixing her real-world knowledge of science with imaginary worlds in her writing. A former chemist, she tends to mix genres, concentrating most of her writing in the paranormal, sci fi, fantasy and futuristic realms, with some contemporary and urban fantasy thrown in for fun."
