Awesome bartenders, hot blondes, and raging hormones all come together as "Stuck in Estrogen's Funhouse."

Marti is having a bad time in her life and she's not sure what exactly is going on. She fails a pregnancy test, can't eat anything other than lasagna, and has this crazy attraction to some blonde stranger at work. What baffles her is that she is perfectly healthy (the dr. says so), loves her job, and is very happily married to a great guy. Will she let these strange thoughts come between her...more

At first, I was very excited to read a book titled Stuck in Estrogen's Fun House. As a woman, Estrogen has take control of my life and I sometimes feel like I am living in a fun house.
I have a really hard time giving this book a review because it is not the type of book I generally enjoy reading. I feel that if I say I do not like it and give it few stars it wouldn't be doing it justice because there are quite of few people who loves this book but I found the book to be really light and very eas...more

I felt Marti’s frustration and stress it’s quite hard when your period’s all messed up and you don’t know what’s happening inside your body! I really do admire her loving relationship with Spencer her husband and bestest friend though there are a bit troubled waters, bumpy roads that’s normal in a relationship in the end they came through it all. I like how this book tackles women related issues within and outside the relationship which is very relatable and into reality that everyone could learn...more

In this lighthearted novel, Marti MacCale is being led astray by her out of control hormones. Marti loves her job tending bar, her husband, Spencer, and at twenty five is enjoying life. When she begins to feel nauseous, tired and moody, pregnancy tests prove negative and her doctor diagnoses her as going through a second puberty. With her hormones raging, Marti finds her life turned upside down, craving pans of lasagna, octopi pancakes and flirting dangerously with a cute college grad.

Since you can read the attached synopsis, I won't delve into the story too much. I have to say that this isn't my usual genre, but I really liked the book. It had a great balance of humor and severity that allowed it to come across as very realistic. I especially enjoyed the main character Marti. She maintains integrity, humor, and strength even as her world is being flipped around. All in all this is promising work from a great new writer and any fan of chick-lit should check this book out stat...more

Sometimes, when your body goes out of whack, it pulls everything else with it, and in Marti MacHale's case, it goes all over the place. Funny and easily relatable, this is a fun read for any woman who had ever had to override hormones before the hormones wrecked more than just a mood.
