CAPE TOWN: winter. A wealthy Native American couple, looking to invest in a local casino development. A German weapons scientist, on the run from a gang of Eastern European thugs. Ordinary enough security jobs for Mace Bishop and Pylon Buso, it seems, but when one of the Americans is kidnapped and a local reporter starts showing too much interest in the scientist's murky ...more

A very strange book that left me, in many ways, quite ambivalent about the lead characters, although I wanted to find out what happened to them, and I could not really put the book down. This is a trip into the dark heart of South Africa, a heart that is still recovering from the ravages of apartheid, and the struggle for liberation that ensued. It is also a thriller and a morality tale, dealing with the lives of Mace Bishop, a security consultant whose wife Oumou has been murdered, and Sheemina ...more

The third book in the trilogy which revolves around Sheemina February's quest for revenge against Mace Bishop, an ex-freedom fighter, arms dealer, and intelligence operative, now a partner in a security company providing protection for VIP's and the well-to-do visiting Cape Town, South Africa.

Gritty, fast-paced, authentic and scary would be good words to describe this novel which brings the story of Smeemina's revenge to a close. The novel plays off over a period of just a few days, and during t

I quite enjoyed this. It's not the most amazing mystery / thriller / crime / spy novel I've ever read, but it's a nice read. One of its big problems - for me - was that it couldn't quite decide which genre to sit in. It's just not quite mysterious enough to be a mystery, criminal enough to be crime, or tense enough to be a thriller. And that sort of leaves it as an interesting story with some quite nice ideas, that never really delivers anything to get your teeth into. But, like I said, I quite ...more

Final installment in the Revenge Trilogy. Nicol has to be one of South Africa's hidden treasures. The Trilogy is absolutely riveting. I feel this sense of loss that I won't meet Mace & Pylon again. Please Mike.....
