- I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. -

When so many books one can find in the Christian section seem to focus on spiritual warfare and all sorts of negatives (that aren't really applicable to my own personal faith, not believing quite the same way as so many), it's really refreshing to have a book devoted to the idea of God's love, and not only vaguely, but specifically, individually, God's love for YOU. Being someone who believes strongly th

I was excited to read this book because in college, I had the pleasure of reading different book about God’s love for you called ‘Falling in Love with Jesus’. I learned so much from that one and used it as a comparison point when reading this one. I have to say I was rather disappointed. Although the topic of this book was great it really wasn’t a good read. I found it hard to be engaged in what the author was saying. It tries to be a devotional book which isn’t a bad thing, just not what I thin ...more

The title of this book is so captivating, I was excited when l received a copy for me to read and review. Unfortunately it has taken me over a month to write a review about it because l did not enjoy the book as much as l thought l would. I read the first few pages and l just could not get it together, l put it down for a couple of days almost gave up but I finally read it to the end. I did not connect with this book because there are many story lines within it that l could not keep up with. At ...more
The Perfect Love- by Ruth Myers is an inside look into the relationship Ruth has with God. The book is PACKED full of advice for growing closer to God, memorizing his deep truths and how to practice relying on Him more each day. Ruth was in her seventies when she wrote this book (she has since passed on), and you can tell she has lived a full life learning to trust in her savoir. Yes, this book is about how amazing God’s love is, but it goes deeper than traditional God-is-love books. She shows u ...more

This book sat on my shelf for years, and I finally felt compelled to pick it up and read it. It was exactly what I needed. I confess that the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the book felt a little weak to me, mainly that she wasn't saying anything I didn't already know. But the last half of the book - WOW. It took me weeks to get through because it was so deep and rich. It completely changed my perspective on some aspects of my relationship with Christ, and it really re-focused my attention on the things th ...more

I read this book slowly (usually took a chapter and split it into two nights of reading). The author had a lot of great things to say and I didn't want to read this book fast. There was a lot of great bible verses that spoke to me while I read this book and this will be a book I will keep on my bookshelf and will re-read it over and over again. If you enjoy reading non-fiction Christian books that will help you grow in your faith with God then you need to read this book!
