Uno de los muchos libros de aventuras marítimas de Salgari. Con los elementos acostumbrados: Un protagonista de carácter majestuoso, un par de fieles servidores que exaltan la lealtad y el heroísmo, a la vez que dan un toque de humor a la historia, enemigos de una maldad ilimitada y personajes (como Sebastiano Veniero, Uluç Ali Reis y Gianandrea Doria), y contexto histórico utilizados de manera totalmente libertina.

Se lee muy rápido. Es entretenido aunque se nota que es de otra época por cómo está escrito y por las conversaciones, pero de todas formas 100% recomendable. Lo que menos me gusto es el desenlace, que llega a su fin de manera algo precipitada.
