I am a little bleary eyed this afternoon because I was up rather late last night and then had to work all day and I can lay all of the blame at one persons feet.....William Neale. He went and did it again! If you have read any of my previous blogs about Mr. Neale you know I came into this book as a fan of his writing skills. He has the ability to pull me into a story and make the character's come alive. His newest release is Son of a Ditch and it is the second in the Home series and I truly hope...more
AMAZING READ!!!!!!!!!! Political, family and romantic drama at its best.
A Plus-Novel with never a dull moment. Excellent plot, Fast paced, clever, great main characters and great secondary characters.
The City of Moorestown is a small town in East Tennessee with only one taxi service, though it is the seventh largest city in the state. It is a kind of progressive town with a black mayor and a couple of accepted - or tolerated - openly gay men, married together and both members of the Moorestown...more
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this story of Colby and Kyle. They reconnect after Colby returns from service in the Air Force to his hometown of Moorestown, TN. We meet up with Tag and Clay from Home almost immediately in this book, which was a very nice continuation of their story. Colby and Kyle an Clay were all childhood friends and they have not seen each other in some time since Colby has been in the service. Colby of course has not been open about his sexual orientation since he was in active...more
I loved this book better then the first one in the Home series. This one has everything, politics, family battles and romance! We meet Colby Dawson returning home from a 8 year stint in the Air Force. Colby has also bitter about a broken romance and not ready for another relationship. While sitting in the local diner he meets up with his best friend Kyle McKoy, who happens to be the local deputy sheriff. Both men reconnect and Kyle ask Colby to move into his two bedroom apartment since Cole is l...more
The way this story started, with Colby coming home, after his servis in Air force ended, was rather pulling. Even Colby problem with his own family, was good and interesting, but the way Colby and Kyle reconnected and then magically fallen in love, was definitely not well written. I would even state, it was terrible. I really believe that this author doesn’t know how to write about basic loving relationship. I couldn’t connect with main characters, which made this story bland.
This was going good and was a 4-star read but somewhere towards the middle, it went to pot. What was an exhilarating romance between Colby and Kyle degenerated into tiresome squabbling or else boring exchanges between two love-struck men. Even the inclusion of the battle between the townsfolk and the governor over the proposed prison site failed to sustain my interest.
Flashbacks between Clay and Tag did nothing to advance the story and overall, the book was dragged on and on - and down - by Colb...more

William Neale lived in Cleveland, Ohio with his partner of over a decade. Relatively new to the world of contemporary m/m romance, he spent over thirty years as a successful corporate communications executive, ad man, and PR "spin doctor."
