Prince Charming was a putz.

Prince Charming number two was even worse.

After the last prince ran off without any notice, breaking her heart and their engagement along the way, Nemesis Mussolini swore off men and passed the time kicking ass and slinging drinks, something her mafia father would never approve of. But, when her boss Clancy ups his flirtations, it’s difficult to

as a human being and a United States citizen, I have the right to voice my opinion over whatever I want to talk about. If it's an opinion on a book I didn't really like, I'm going to do it. You can bully me all you want, but I'll flag you and then ignore you. It's MY opinion and if you have a problem about it, keep it to yourself or message me via inbox. Don't make this a public matter, and by god, do not blame me for what you start.

Nemesis sounded like a good book. From the summary, I was exp

I'll be completely honest. I originally purchased the book for two reasons: 1) it sounded like it could be interesting, but mostly 2) because the author is a Twitter friend.

I was pretty much hooked right away. I love the way she writes - it puts you right into the character's head, even if it is a little chaotic (but, hey, whose head *isn't* chaotic, right?). I loved how little things about the female main character, Nemy (Nemesis) are revealed throughout the book - you don't learn everything im

This book is written in first person. There is no mystery as to how Nemesis thinks and feels about things. I like the fast paced bluntness. It adds punch to the tough girl image. I started this book and then somewhere in the third chapter had to put on my longest earrings, highest shoes, grab my husband’s arm, and go dance at the local hangout. It made me hungry to feel life!

The female freedom is sexy. Gervasio does a good job of showing sexual freedom and personal vulnerability. I wouldn’t call

This is not the genre I look for first when book-shopping, but I'm glad I gave Nemesis a try. The characters are realistic and believable enough to keep me interested, and the author's first-person perspective places you directly inside the main character's head. Plenty of girl-power going around here, but not without the softer side that so many tough-girl novels seem to forget is just as important. Is it a romance novel? Sure it is, and more. It's not too heavy, not too soft. This one is just ...more

N.L. Gervasio brings action and romance into - and out of - the strip club. An excellent romance with just a hint of comic relief, you can believe such events happen in every day life. She brings to life a group of girlfriends and the romantic ups and downs for some of them - especially the quite jaded heroine, Nemy. This is a book with substance, and difficult to put down. The author expects to put out more about the others from this group, and I look forward to the next installment.

NL Gervasio has a knack for well placed humor and action. Oh heck who am I kidding? Sarcasm is the primary language Nemy speaks, much to my delight. This ain't your momma's romance novel... Nemesis takes matters into her own hands to make sure Prince Charming doesn't get too big of an ego. She is very much the modern woman needed to spice up the romance world. I cannot wait to read more from this series!

NL “Jinxie” Gervasio is a creator and destroyer of worlds. She is both editor and author, and has discovered she’s quite good at the romance thing—writing it, that is—with vampires, werewolves, zombies, angels, and demons. Jinxie reviews books in her spare time, of which she rarely has any, and spends most of her time—when not working in the IT industry—chained to her laptop writing, editing, gami ...more

“Just because it looks like a leprechaun and talks like a leprechaun, it doesn't mean it can't act like the little fucking demon it is.” 2 likes
“I haven't dated Clancy—God help me if I do—but he's tipping my all-men-are-jackasses theory completely over the edge of the scale. To add insult to injury, he looks like the damn cover of a romance novel. I hate those covers.” 0 likes
