Katharine Geryon is living the life her family name has dictated, and why not? After all, it has given her a good job in the family company and a fine life with all the things she should want. Ok, so, I have all these stuff in my mind and it’s really hard to get them in order right now, but maybe if I write it down it will be easy. Just like those movies where everything is messed up, but everything turns out alright in the end, or maybe not. I’m babbling, sorry, I do that sometimes *always* and things get really crazy, really fast.
Focus! I need to focus!
Ok, I think I got it.
CHAIN REACTION!

First things first as always. I received this book via a GoodReads drawing and therefore didn't pay anything for it. Despite that kind consideration I'll give you my honest assessment as always.
In general I find it rather distasteful to say much of anything about the plot but in this case I will make a very slight exception. At a very high level the book shows us a woman of privileged background who is being 'courted' by an angel and a demon come to Earth in human form and her choice of one of t...more

What could be more invasive than the horror of having your mind invaded, your home intruded upon, and your world suddenly turned into a very different place? What if you began to see things that others couldn't see, and you began to behave in ways far different from your normal behavior? Katharine Geryon is a daughter of privilege, trained as a corporate executive in her father's successful investment firm. All her life, she has known her place, her future seemingly secure and etched in stone. H...more
This is not the genre I typically read, but the teaser in "Shelf Awareness" was so compelling I requested a galley and I am so glad I did, and so grateful to have received one.
The premise is as ancient as humanity- Good versus Evil and Man's imperfect ability to tell the difference much less choose between them.
In the globally metaphorical sense, Katharine Geryon is "Everyman". Allistair and Zachary are the Demon and Angel battling for her in just the latest round of an ongoing primordial battle...more

Katharine is the main character of this novel. She has grown up in a wealthy family, groomed to take over her fathers' business. She has never been out of the ordinary or stepped out of line. Everything changes when she meets Allistair and Zachary.
The two men are very enigmatic and mysterious. She finds herself attracted to both. The novel actually doesn't contain an overabundance at all of romance. Instead, Katharine must truly see and pay attention to w...more
100 pages in and I was still waiting for the author to get to the point. Not hard to figure out that there’s a game afoot for one particular soul and high stakes for the demon and angel involved. But really, around and around we go – is the angel going to get Katharine or will she choose the devil? Katharine ends up sounding like some wimp with no thoughts of her own, which is evidently the author’s much belabored point. The only time Katharine seems like she might be more than a paper doll duri...more
You know those books that you just rip through so quickly because you WANT TO KNOW? Well this is one of those books! I sometimes take notes as I read. It helps me sort things out in my brain and really helps with reviews, especially if the plot is complex and the characters are layered as thickly as the ones in God's Eye.
Now I am going to write out a couple of my notes so you can see what kind of awesome mind screwing this book will give you, in a good way.

Going into God's Eye, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Good vs. Evil. Two charismatic, and also paranormal, men vying for the soul of a woman. It all sounded amazing! I'm not generally a reader of this genre, but I thought I'd take a step out of the box and give it a shot.
What slowed me down right off the bat was the pacing. Katherine works. A lot. Since she's nearly always working, a lot of the beginning of the book is dedicated to just that. It sets up her job, her relationship with her...more

Had I truly known more about God's Eye, I would not have read it. First, it was very dark and downright scary in some places. I can do creepy and have done it many times. The difference is that I knew I was going to the dark side. I did not come across that tidbit when I decided to read it. So I am telling potential readers upfront -- this is no paranormal romance about angels and demons. To be honest, I am not sure what it is, horror and mystery for sure but it's not being marketed that way.

I was a little worried when I started reading this book that it would be more on the religious side of looking at good vs. evil and angels and demons. I was happily surprised that this couldn't have been further from the truth. This was a fantastic look into a woman growing into her own life and how things can be deceptive on the surface.

This is the first book I have read by AJ Scudiere but it will not be my last. I am actually anxious to go back and read the ones I have missed already! God’s Eye is a stand alone novel about a woman who is caught in a battle between an Angle and a Demon. What I love the most about the story is that I don’t see it as a struggle between heaven and Hell, I see it as a story about a woman trying to make a choice about who she is and what, if anything, she stands for. I loved that you don’t know who...more

I hope you downloaded this book when it was offered as a free read on Amazon. No? It's still under £2 on Kindle, so I suggest you buy it, because God's Eye is amazing.
Not for the faint-hearted or impatient readers, this is a slow, fascinating unravelling of one woman, who is forced to question everything she lives for and finds herself wanting.

My take: To be completely honest, I did not think that I would enjoy this book. I thought it would be average, nothing extraordinary. I was so completely and utterly wrong. As soon as I started reading this book, I literally could not put it down. I absolutely loved the writing style, and I felt that the alternating perspectives really worked and enhanced this novel. This is the first book I've read by this author and it will certainly not be my last. I truly enjoyed reading this book. This book...more

Katharine Geryon was born into wealth and position. Her father runs Geryon & Light, an investment company, which she will be expected to take over when he retires. Her mother ensured that Katharine knew all the proper social protocols and deportments for her station. Katharine has always done as expected, done as she has been asked, and just coasted along through life. All that is about to change with the appearance in her life of two men – Allistair and Zachary – dark and light – good and e...more
A creature from another dimension forces its way across the veil into the realm of Earth. In this way, A.J. Scudiere's hot new novel begins, grabbing readers and never letting go until the final paragraph! Riveting, well constructed prose builds the reader's anticipation and piques curiosity. Passionate and exciting, this battle between good and evil rages as two beings on opposite sides fight for one woman to choose which way she will take her life.

I can't believe she's done it again. This is the third book by Scudiere that I've read/listened to the audiomovie and each one is so profoundly different and unique that it's amazing. There are a number of authors that I've read multiple books by and sometimes I can only read so many as they start to sound like the same story re-written with a little difference here or there. John Saul, who I read a lot of in my early teenage years, is a classic example of this writing style. Somehow Scudiere ma...more
God's Eye by A.J. Scudiere
Katharine Geryon is the confused protagonist in this book. Angel or demon, light or dark this book is awash in paranormal decisions.
I really enjoyed both Resonance and Vengeance Ms. Scudiere’s previous books. I never really got into this book. It wasn’t that it was terribly confusing; I just didn’t feel that it held together.
In a trite and (by me) oft used expression, I guess that is why they make chocolate and vanilla. This was not a bad book and the characters were...more

Katherine was raised by her rich father and being groomed to take over his business when the time came. All she knows is work and really has no kind of social life until one day she encounters a new guy at work and then a new guy in her apartment building! Thus now we have the makings of a love triangle filled with good, bad, and well ugly because up until now I dont think Katherine has ever had so much sex but she finds it hard to turn either man away. With a mixture of horror, love and mystery, this book introduces us to a very different idea of angels and demons. The unique storyline makes it an interesting read for all paranormal lovers.

This is a story about good versus evil, but you don't really know who is the good guy and who is the bad guy until right near the end. Like real life, your choices aren't clear. I loved that you could pick your side without really knowing if you were choosing good or evil until it was too late. Who did I choose? Allistair with his hot office sex ways. Did I choose good or evil? You'll have to read the book and find out.

This book was so far outside of what I normally read that I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed the story. Katherine was a very interesting character, and both Zachary and Allistair were even more so. It was obvious that one of the men was good and one was not, but I went back and forth trying to determine which was which. The author really kept me guessing. I read this book as an ARC through Netgalley.

God's Eye started off slower than A.J. Scudiere's first two books. However, once it neared the final quarter, I found the story hard to put down. Although I did figure out the major twist before it was revealed, I thought the author did a marvelous job of disguising it. While I certainly liked God's Eye, there were a couple of things which made it less enjoyable than the author's other books. I didn't really make any emotional connection with any...more

God's Eye introduces us to Katherine Geryon, a woman who has lived what some would call an easy life. Growing up in an affluent family with a controlling and emotionally absent father and a mother who taught her that appearances are everything, Katherine simply floated through life, turning a blind eye to what she did not want to see and letting all of her decisions be made by others. Working in her father's company, she was viewed with envy and distrust by most people and she never put forth th...more
Katharine comes from upper society, but her life is not as easy as most think. She is the daughter of a rich investor that just goes through the hoops of work to please her dad without ever deciding for herself what she would like. Then strange animals and soot stains appear in her perfect apartment. Things get stranger when a new co-worker that she is training starts hitting on her and her new neighbor makes her feel wanton.

This book is hot and steamy in a very good way. You probably wouldn't guess that from the cover, but you might from the summary. The cover looks like a scary paranormal book, while the summary reads almost like a romance novel. Combine the two, and it pretty much describes the book, but in the way you would describe the sun as being a hot place to visit.

God's Eye is an interesting book. Part romance mixed with a degree of horror and mystery made for a story unlike anything I typically read.
I was sucked in from the beginning as Katherine starts receiving cryptic messages and we are introduced to both Zachary and Allistair. The way the author dangled the details of the story out front, I felt like a cat chasing a string that was...more
