I am so angry....I have this huge TBR pile and I wasted my entire day on this book. It was so not worth it.
I just can't read this book anymore. I am at page number 80 and I am fed up with all the drama.
My main problem with the book is the female protagonist Irelyn. She is a selfish, stupid and a big-fat liar. She doesn't think about anyone other than herself. And yet, everyone seems to love her. When you don't like the main character, it is really hard to like the book. I still tried! *sigh*

I'll control myself not to rant...
First of all, I hate this kind of story. When does unfaithfulness become an 'in thing'?
Second of all, Idiots!! Most of the characters with the exception of the mother and little Tommy are idiots.
We call unfaithful men bastards. Why can't we call unfaithful women bitch? Instead we call this kind of story a romance..
I don't get it. Irelyn is one of the worst heroine I've ever encountered. She is mopey, cowardly, and well...a selfish idiot. Why is this kind of pers...more

All I could think throughout the entire book was, "Another chapter? Are you kidding me?"
This book is about a girl named Irelyn (like Ireland, minus the D) who has a one night stand with Lucas, the lead singer of some band named Wet Dung or something like that. After doing the dirty, Irelyn bails, forgeting her phone in her hurry to escape Lucas's house.
Then, OF COURSE, she just HAS to retrieve it prompting her to bump uglies with Lucas yet again. Over the course of the entire book, Irelyn does...more

I really loved this book but I had to dock a half star and go with 4 1/2 just simply because the heroine tended to get on my nerves! She was so wishy washy. Oh, and can I just say that Lucas was AMAZING, and frankly the most understanding and patient man that I have ever known!! Holy crap!
Other than that simple complaint I really loved the story. I could understand Irelyn's confusion through out the book, I can feel for her but it wasn't really like she was in love with two men. She knew who she...more

I bought this book for my Kindle when I saw it compared to Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I adored that book and was excited to try something along the same lines. This didn't quite live up to my expectations but was still an enjoyable read.
I really liked the overall plot of the book. Irelyn gets herself into some major trouble when she has a one night stand with the smokin' lead singer of a band. Problem is that she has a boyfriend she's been in a long-term relationship with. Plus, she ca...more

Goodie Two-Shoes, Irelyn thought her life was as simple as can be. Why shouldn't she be grateful and happy? Her grandparents are loaded with money, which makes it no issue to attend an outstanding College. She's in a relationship she believes is respectable and approving among her family. I actually liked this story a lot more than I thought I would.
Based on reviews, I was sure I wouldn't like the heroine very much. And while I do not condone cheating, I could see how what started out as a fling turned into love and was totally rooting for them. I thought it was a very realistic story. One that happens all the time, especially when you have been dating someone you thought you should be with and then head off to college only to start figuring out who you truly are. This book is a badly written rendition of 'Thoughtless' by S.C Stephens.while most people loved 'Thoughtless', i didnt. But this book makes 'Thoughtless' look like a Neruda masterpiece.
The story plot is dull and kept dragging on.The protagonist of this book is an annoying, juvenile bimbo who is loved and wanted by everybody for absolutely no fathomable reason. the writing is awful, the characters are too wooden and unreal. The cheating bit got to me initially , but then Irelyn( what kind of name is...more

"All The Wrong Reasons" wasn't the perfect novel (for me) but it had something that could dig me out of Diablo 3. This book made me think of "Thoughtless" since the plot was so similar. Still, I was kind of like "Thoughtless" a lot more.
When I started reading "All The Wrong Reasons," I kept wondering that how love that began with an affair could last long. It was strange enough because Luke and Irelyn could make it work!!! I liked the story but I still didn't like the way two main characters' t...more

There are stories about cheating…and then there is this. while I do not support cheating, there have been some books that are just so good, they touch your heart. I have read and loved books on this theme like Something borrowed, Sometimes it happens, Something like fate, The unwritten rule and of course my most favourite Thoughtless. I loved these books because the emotions and the characters in them are so complex. The main characters donot go out of their way to cheat on their boyfriends. The...more
All The Wrong Reasons is a basically a story made up of love, lust, tough choices, and most of all, PILLOW TALK.

Anyone who has read S.C. Stephens books Thoughtless & Effortless & enjoyed the up & down roller-coaster ride of drama, lust, and love will find themselves sucked into All The Wrong Reasons immediately.
My thoughts at the beginning were something similar to "Holy Hell! Why didn't I read this sooner?" Actually, I'm positive that was my status update exactly.

Couldn't finish this book! Irelyn has a boyfriend acceptable to her family but ends up sleeping with a boy in a band when she goes out to a club. She strings both guys along because she's too selfish to cut either of them loose. Her grandfather (who pays for her college and her younger cousin's private school) tells her she needs to dump the band boy (who she loves) or else he'll stop paying for both schools. Of course Irelyn is torn - I guess the college she goes to is the only one that will wo...more

This was not my style of writing at all. I'm confused about how many good reviews this book has - I wish I hadn't bothered to finish it, but I was just waiting for it to get good!
The relationships between the characters and the characters themselves are completely unrealistic. The main character was just awful...and yet the reader is supposed to accept everyone else thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread. I was not at all convinced by the romance between the two leads. In fact, if a girl...more

Well what to say about this story. To be honest it was alright not something I will want to read again. I don't really like love triangles and all that shit. I hate novels where the heroine cheats on her boyfriend. This is exactly why I gave this book 3 stars. I didn't like heroine at all because she had a boyfriend she cared about but still slept with a complete stranger. I didn't find this romance anything special I have read books that show us the chemistry between the couple bloom into somet...more
Ok first things first... where is a real life version of Lucas and how do I find him? Holy hell. Talk about swoon-I'm a pile of goo-worthy, egads. On top of it, he might also be the most patient man on earth. Geeze... I don't think any dude would put up with that type of "arrangement" for very long, especially when it's so obvious that real feelings have developed. In fact, that's probably what took this book down a notch, simply because he was so patient and so wonderful and so dreamy-sounding...more
I never thought I could love another book as much as I did Jamie Magee's Beautiful Disaster, but this one is a close second!! Irelyn just moved into a top notch dorm where her wealthy grandparents foot the bill for her education. Being the daughter of their reckless daughter, they meddle as mucg as they can to make Irelyn into a formidable young woman. She has been dating her boyfriend Dustin for 2 years and her grandparents couldn't be prouder, he is the son of the top notch attorney in their t...more

The book reminded me of Thoughtless. The main character, Irelyn was really annoying. Basically the story is about a girl who has a nice life and doesn't have to worry about anything and is allowed to free college education and allowance. She has a "perfect" boyfriend and one night out changes everything. She falls for a singer and has an affair with him. The whole relationship lasts forever til her Grandpa tells her boyfriend to propose and Irelyn has already fallen in too deep. Blah blah blah....more

This was a pretty good read. I ripped through the book pretty fast and found myself going back to it when I had to put it down to just to see how the story would end. So, why did I give it the rating that I did you may ask? I will get to that.

I didn't think It was possible for me to hate someone else more than Kiera (from thoughtless) but this book proved me wrong. When I can not connect with the main characters I feel like a robot while reading. I have to say I only got up to 18% of the book. It was like a badly written thoughtless with different character names. I rather read thoughtless again than finish reading this book. When I first looked at reading this, other reviewer's compared it to Beautiful Disaster (which I LOVED) so I figured I would give this one a chance. First and foremost I want to say that it is not like Beautiful Disaster, but it pulled me in emotionally through out the entire book. To me this book is about telling the people in your life who try to mold you into mini me's of them (her grandparents) to go to hell. Irelyn tried to please her grandparents because they were paying her tuition and at...more
Summary:
Irelyn is certain about her future. She wants to be a writer, has a prominent family who's helping pay for her college, a fantastic boyfriend, and she's made some great friends. Then she meets Lucas and everything changes.

I had glimpses of "Gilmore Girls" in some of the characters and in the plot, and I don't know whether the author intentionally wanted it that way or it just happened. The storyline was also quite similar to that of S.C. Stephens' Thoughtless.
Anyway, what bugs me about books like these is the prominence of sex. It seems to be THE binding factor between two people, and just being together physically truly defines their relationship and it takes eternity to delve into the emotional aspect.

I added All the Wrong Reasons to my list after finding it reviewed as a must read for Beautiful Disaster Fans. I concur whole heartedly with this statement, and I am frustrated with myself for overlooking this book for so long. The cover for this novel, while fitting, does not do this story justice. All the Wrong Reasons is fast paced and effortlessly sucks you into the story. Irelyn's life resembled that of a caged animal; as she constantly tries to live up to the expectations of her prestige G...more
