3/5 stars for the series ~ WARNING: I've never been so burned by a manga series. Consider this review before making the purchase.

The first three volumes progress well as a Japanese sci-fi action manga, providing interesting -- if sometimes strange as hell -- characters, backstory, gun fights, and plot/character development.

But if you think the rest of the series is going to be like the well-established first three volumes, don't bother buying it.

When volume four introduces Paradise, it just gets

Rune faces a group of extremely creepy assassins. We're talking creepier than a pinata full of centipedes here. Hopefully they don't last long, though the storyline is unresolved in this volume. I'm kind of undecided about this manga. The art is decent and the writing isn't bad--certainly inventive anyway. Despite the more innovative elements, it's not terribly memorable. I'll keep reading for now, but we'll see how it goes.

When things turns around and various past got told to the readers.

There are glimpse to Balot's past as how she ended up on the street, how she get with Shel, what she do in the mean time and how her view of the world before she died, which is already giving up on life itself.
