Some jokes were hilarious, others were kind of meh. All in all, this was a quick, funny and twisted read.

What a random and strange little book! It did pull some giggles out of me though, I must admit, haha!

Pick it up, give it a go and enjoy! ^^

This is amazing! Hahaha... I tried a few of these on my 5-year-old brother and they're great. The great thing is that some of them are based on fact.

-For example, 1 in 10 fish are afraid of water.
-2 in 40,000 cars that leave the car factory are "Siamese cars"; if they share an axle, they can never be separated.
-If you try a vegetable, you might like it.

The art is hilarious, too.

Some of these lies don't live up to the title. But some of them are downright hilarious. And the pictures vacillate between being adorable/weird and ugly/weird. I've really been wanting to use the word "vacillate" lately. Score.

mice collect your dandruff and eat it as cornflake (p25) lol

mugs are just cup who have been to the gym (p32) nyengir

most birds wear parachute in case they suddenly forget how to fly (p49)

Funny stuff! I've read this book a number of times and it always makes me laugh. If your kids are ever driving you crazy, just pick up a copy of this book and imagine telling them some of the things in it. The next time I'm going crazy, I just might pull this book out and try a few of them. I particularly like

"They say no two snowflakes are the same, but who's ever checked?
I'll give you a hundred dollars if you can find me a matching pair."

that would keep them entertained and be entertaining fo

I was thrilled to learn that Andy Riley had created a new set of cartoons 'Great Lies to Tell Small Kids.' I desperately hoped it would be as good as the Bunny Suicides but it didn't quite live up to it.

Don't get me wrong; some of them are hilarious and it's so tempting to try them out on small children. I actually remember having been told a few of them myself (the lifting the chair up one) so that was a nice touch. On the whole though some of them were quite bland and I'd say less than half of

From the creator of the bestselling Suicide Bunny books comes more wicked humour, Great Lies to Tell Small Kids. Those lies mentioned here range from merely bogus to truly cruel: "Every ant you meet must be named"; "It takes the beaks of seven penguins to make a Penguin biscuit" "All wind is made by wind farms" "Wine makes mummy clever". Each hilarious cartoon tells a tall tale to bamboozle kids and entertain wicked adults everywhere.

Some were hilarious, I must admit, but most were so weird I fi

Some of these -- many of these -- were wonderful, but just enough fall flat that it gets three stars, not four. I'm comparing it, of course, to the Bunny Suicides (which he wrote) where every page was laugh-out-loud funny, and this doesn't quite compare. Also, he has a slight obsession with ants (of which I am not a fan) and clowns (which doesn't bother me, but might bother others). So there's that. Certainly entertaining, though.

Lucu lucu...

"If you ring the number of a house where you used to live, you can talk to the past version of yourself. Never tell the past version of yourself who is calling.
Note: anyone who rings you and says 'sorry, wrong number' is almost certainly you from the future."

Very funny book sent by a bookcrossing friend from Ireland- and yes, I imagine some lose a bit in the translation. For instance, I'm not sure what Weetabix are. However, that said, I thought some of these were hilarious. Loved the "blood-sucking vampire tooth fairy". I can definitely see telling some of these to a little kid - they are almost believable.

Lies range from the absurd to the entirely believable. Totally reminds me of all the lies Dad told me when I was little like fries being made of caterpillar skins they sew together in the back of the restaurant. ("And if you don't do well in school, that'll be your job!") May have to try a few of these out of my friend's kids. (You've been warned!)
