Since first joining forces in Punctured, Alice James and Jim Snow have been a great—if odd—crime-fighting team. He’s a forty-something former Las Vegas homicide detective who quit the force to become a full-time poker player. The new P. I. firm of James and James, Alice James and Jim Snow, may have landed the case that will put their new business on the map. Alice James had quit Homicide and Jim Snow, ex-homicide and now ex-professional poker player, had teamed up after encountering each other in the first book in the Vegas mystery series where both were looking into the murder of snow's brother-in-law.

The new case had been in all the papers just a few days before. A young woman, Laura, had been found a short distanc

#2, Better than first

I enjoyed this one as the characters are more developed and interactions feel more free. If this growth continues into the third one I think the series will do well. On to the next Vegas story.

When Jack Roberts walks into the James & James Detective Agency, co-owner Alice James can hardly believe her luck. The body of Roberts's daughter, Laura, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress, was found just days before, bashed over the head and set ablaze in the Nevada desert. It is a horrific crime ? and cracking it could mean big business for James & James. It's a fledgling outfit, after all, formed by the oddest of crime-fighting couples: Jim Snow is a forty-something former Las Vegas homici ...more

Following on from the hint in the first book the crime fighters combine to form a private detective agency James and James.
They are thrilled when their first case is to find the killer of Jack Robert's daughter. Her body was found bashed and burned and dumped in the desert.

Jim Snow the ex-homicide detective- semi-ex professional player and Alice James ex-homicide detective and ex waitress form an Agency. There is some URST which may or may not be fulfilled. Personally I feel it would be better l

This was really more pleasing than I thought it would be. I had previously read Punctured, the first in the series, and had enjoyed it. This one is much better. It's a quick read. Likable characters. Nice plot and twists. But what I liked most about it was the humor in it. Jim Snow is hilarious. He can make you laugh out loud in the middle of investigating a gruesome murder. And he did, several times.

I've got the next one, Desert Drop, ready to start on my Kindle and look forward to another dose

GOODREADS GIVEAWAY!!

Reminds me a little of CSI: Las Vegas

This homicide, mystery type of book. It really served to bring out all the elements that this type of book is supposed to bring o the readers.

Entertaining murder/mystery, set in Las Vegas. I enjoyed the first book a little more, but this was entertaining enough to make me want to read the third book in the series. Good summer read.

Very snappy

A true detective story. The detectives are an odd combination but they work well together. Enjoyed the way the story played out

I enjoyed this book, the main characters were interesting and it started right out with action. Would recommend this mystery with anyone who loves mysteries.

2nd in a series of procedural private dectective. Good quick read nothing too taxing and the main characters are more interesting than the mystery.

Enjoyed this second in series. Light fun mystery that takes place in Las Vegas but not the Vegas you'd expect.

Quick and entertaining read, not as well liked as Punctured, but leaves me curious enough to read the next installment.
