I was surprised and disturbed at the way certain things were handled in this book, causing me to remove it from our church's library. The story is about John Harper, a pastor on the Titanic who shared the gospel even as he was drowning in the ocean. That part of the story was great. However, the story of his last few hours on the ship only took about 40 pages, the other 115 pages of the book were about him and his daughter on the Titanic and especially his daughter's supposed adventures on ...more

I’ve enjoyed the mystique that is the Titanic since I was a young girl, I’ve always thought it’d be neat to be able to go down to the bottom of the ocean and see this graveyard. Since I can’t go deep sea exploring the next best thing is to read stories, especially those that are based on fact, that instill faith and hope as well as stories from the Titanic. I’ve never read any in the series from which this book comes so I’m glad I started with this one, as it deals with a man of great faith, ...more

A fantastic read. Great not only for my son, I too greatly enjoyed this biography of John Harper and was inspired by his life as I turned into each chapter. I will admit I teared up reading this book, and after I finished was compelled to talk about the book. Highly recommend for young readers, say pre teen level, all the way up to adults.

Everyone knows the story of the Titanic but this is a story of a unselfish Christian man & his daughter. I found the story beautiful and uplifting knowing that there is hope for all. Little did i know that this is based on actual facts. These two people were real. Knowing this just made this quick light read even more wonderful.
