In the second installment of this Experiment in Terror series Dex and Perry embark on another journey to the dark, old Mexican desert town called Red Fox, to find out what supernaturel, creepy and angsty creatures are lurking there.

They come across scary crows, shapeshifters and everything else supernaturel.

The book is dark and angsty, Perry and Dex have to fight off their fair share of supernaturel creatures. Fortunately comical Perry truly lightens up this story. It's difficult to comprehend...more

Another 5 Freaking-Supernatural Stars

And Karina Halle does it again…
Another creepy and twisted read, a horror scenario perfectly executed and highly accomplished. Hopelessly romantic and deeply sarcastic, despite the paranormal factor, this book (the whole series, really) is brutally realistic when it comes down to people, character development and feelings.

In this second part of the enticing Experiment in Terror series Dex and Perry continue the adventure of their "ghost hunting" internet show by visiting the town of Red Fox in New Mexico. There they try to help the Navajo couple Will and Sarah who's desolate farm is haunted by forces unknown.

Perry and Dex in this book have to discover what is going on at the Red Fox,a town located at Mexico.
Do you find ghosts scary?

Can you belive that a cute fox could scare the hell out of you?

In this book they dont chase ghosts but they are trying to figure out who is the skin walker.

Why are the animals acting crazily ?

In this book we are also intodused Maximus , Dex's old friend.

The end of this book actually made me teary. WTF? That was totally unexpected.
It's 2am and I'm exhausted from my marathon reading session tonight, so I will keep this short and sweet.
I feel like I know Perry and Dex so much better now. And I especially loved seeing the more vulnerable side of Dex this time around. Yes, there were times when I thought Perry made some dumb decisions and I wanted to shake some sense into her. But more often than not, I felt empathy for what she was going thr...more

Oh God, Great Spirit, whatever, I thought, please don't let this turn into a naked old man expedition.
I don't know if I have enough reserve of snark to keep up with these two.

I hate crows with a passion!!!
Long story short, I was at the cemetery visiting my grand parents grave when, at the entrance, was a lamp post with a hideous ugly crow perched at the top, it was making weird sounds, so I looked up and said "Go away you stupid crow" and for impact, I throw a little pebble at it. The crow didn't move. Anyway ... the cemetery is located in a little pueblo (village/town/populace) in the middle of nowhere, the houses are 1km away, so the only things surrounding the ce...more

They went to Red Fox, New Mexico looking for ghosts...

But that wasn't what they found.

When you come across the unknown what is the wise decision?

Perry and Dex find themshelves in another supernatural situation. What started as a "ghost hunting" has turned out much more sinister and their enemy is very much alive. Our heroes have two choices, they can run and forget their show or they can stay and risk their lives to find out what exactly is going on.

I think I'm in love with this series . Perry and Dex are back and they are definitely kicking asses , oh and btw they are getting theirs kicked too and that being said - all the way in New Mexico ! This book was so full of surprises .

The first show of Experiment in Terror has aired...and it's not so good. Not to mention, Perry has lost her job at the ad agency (excellent bit of realism here!!), so she's worried about her future. Fortunately, Dex's old college band mate, Maximus, has a lead - the Lancasters in Red Fox, New Mexico have experienced some creepy paranormal activity. The problem? Dex and Perry have to pose as a married couple - and try to find out who amongst the Lancasters and their hired help is lying.

I'll admit, it feels a bit dumb and a tiny bit egotistical to be reviewing your own book but I did it to the first one, Darkhouse, so I might as well leave one for Red Fox. Especially since I like this book a lot more than Darkhouse. Don't get me wrong, I love my first book to bits, but I want to marry Red Fox and have its babies (and I don't even like babies).

Having read an advance copy of Red Fox, I am able to offer a review on the book's date of publication that I hope may be of interest to potential readers. The second installment in the Experiment in Terror series is the latest stop on Perry Palomino and Dex Foray's journey in search of the supernatural and, ultimately, themselves. So much going on. Where do I begin?

Red Fox starts off shortly after where Darkhouse ends. The pilot webisode has aired and Perry and Dex set off to Red Fox, New Mexico to investigate crazy happenings at a ranch. The couple who owns the ranch are Navajo but devout Christians so Perry and Dex have to pretend like they are married. Awkward!

I enjoyed this book more than Darkhouse but I'm not completely sold on the series yet... I'm not sure why!? The banter between Dex and Perry is filled with sexual tension and that excites me. I'm interested to see how their relationship develops. I'm definitely reading the next book; I believe it is called The Benson.
Red Fox was a wonderful follow up to Darkhouse. Perry and Dex are such awesome characters - I can't get enough of them! I also really enjoyed the introduction of Maximus to the story. I'm hoping we get to see more of him in future books...that could get interesting. Red Fox felt a bit edgier to me than Darkhouse since the stakes were so much higher for Perry and Dex due to the nature of their case. Thankfully, Perry learns a lot more about Dex and his background which left me wondering whether s...more

The Experiment of Terror show just went live with its first episode online. Now, Dex and Perry are off to their new "Experiment" in Red Fox, New Mexico, where a Navajo couple are being tormented by things that aren't really there. Random strange animals start coming into their home late at night when the doors are locked and stones are being thrown at their windows by an unknown creature. Dex and Perry's first thought was a poltergeist but they're wrong. The truth of it all lies in an old Navajo...more

The author takes the creepiness and back and forth play between the two main characters in the first book and ramps it up for the second installment and boy does it pay off! Now set in the small town of Red Fox, New Mexico, the book immediately benefits from the feeling of people looking for something in a small desert town where no one can be trusted, especially not your imagination or paranoia. There's something about the setting which needs no explanation, you just already know something's up...more
The second installment of the Experiment in Terror series takes our perplexing and troublesome pair Perry and Dex to a small town in New Mexico, where strange happenings on a ranch have been frightening the couple who own the ranch.
I wrote in my review of the first book in the series Darkhouse, that the supernatural plot fell short of the strong characters, and budding relationship of Perry and Dex. Not so with Red Fox. A legend rooted in mystical tradition (Navajo) is ripe and thrilling territo...more
Another Dex and Perry adventure! With skinwalkers! Having been priviledged enough to read advanced copies of the series so-far, this is definitely my favourite. This book actually gave me the heebie-jeebies, which meant I could only read it in the daytime and felt super paranoid at night, if I was by myself lol. The characters have really progressed in Red Fox, and the storyline has so many twists and tense scenes. This novel is competing on a list of my favourite books of all time. Loved it! :)
As with the first book... I was hooked again after just a few pages!! This is a huge credit to the writing style because I am not normally a supernatural fan. Red fox had a way of making me almost believe in the skinwalkers!! I usually prefer true crime genre when it comes to books... And Red Fox felt just like that... As if it were a true story & that the author had actually experienced everything she had written (I hope for her sake that is not the case)

Book 2 in the Experiment in Terror series brings us more creepy, spooky stuff, more heart-racing action and, most importantly, more Dex and Perry! And it’s all awesome!
There’s a bit more focus on Dex’s character in this one. We get to see more of his tortured side, and learn a little bit about his past, and some of what he has been through to make him the way he is. And it’s all so sad! My heart broke for him.
