Accountable to None – Review

First let me just say this.... OLIN! Come here whilst I knock your head clean off, you jumped up, arrogant, abusive, self-centred tosser!

Ok, I feel much better now!

This book was passed to me for review by the author. I would just like to say thank you very much for this, as this is now one of my favourite books of all time. I’m going to be very careful what I say on this review, as I’m genuinely worried about spoiling it for other readers by delving too much into the...more

3.5

I do not really know whether to give this a three or a four, so I will say 3.5 and give it four stars.

This book had good points, a lot of good points. It is a thriller, a page turner. I read books on my iPhone kindle app during my breaks and I found that I was taking a lot of breaks and they were getting longer.

I really liked the way the author showed me the crisis from different viewpoints. I was basically kept waiting to hear what the crisis actually was. For me that was very well done.

WOW! Revenge is sweet! A MUST READ!! Accountable to None is fast-paced, emotionally driven, and filled with hard-hearted selfish villains you Love to Hate. Author Ashley Fontainne writes with biting realism, a style I thoroughly enjoyed reading. No fluffy fairy tales here! This story ROCKS! As I met each character and learned the graphic details of the horrific crimes that are driving Audra to seek revenge, I seriously hated her enemies. Audra is smart, strong, and calculating. She takes her tim...more

AMAZING. I won this book in one of the Goodreads giveaways, and as soon as I received it in the mail I read it. In one day. This book has interesting characters and a great fast-paced plot. It's short and easy to read so I would recommend this book to anyone. I couldn't put it down! Great revenge story. Loved it! Go Audra! :)

A Riveting Tale of Revenge!
Very well written. Ashley Fontainne’s novel ‘Accountable to None’ is a realistic peek into a winning-at-all-costs corrupt workplace that ultimately is brought down. Past misdeeds come to light; a murder and horrific sexual assaults. It reminded me of a John Grisham novel with its gripping David and Goliath justice prevails ending. Great characters who go through hell and back and one crazed psychopath. A great read in front of the fireplace on a chilly evening.

Taken from my Amazon review

Oh what a tangled web these characters weave - it seems like everyone has something to hide. Audra, the lead in "Accountable to None", spends five years building a paper trail to uncover the whole web, but it's done mostly out of sight as the audience is introduced to the side characters, most of whom can shortly expect their comeuppance.
This sort of story relies on a powerful supporting cast to create an engaging read, and while some characters showed dimension, other...more

Spoilers ahead!

The brutal rape of Audra Tanner is the compelling opening to this story of greed, lust, and revenge. We all know someone like Olin, the egotistical psycho boss who rules with an iron fist. And in our minds we wish we could be the fly on the wall when justice has finally been doled out. ACCOUNTABLE TO NONE is a gripping tale of corporate tyranny, deception, and power gone horribly wrong. When Audra spends years amassing an indisputable amount of evidence against the man who took so...more

"Accountable to None", by Ashley Fontaine, is a tale of corporate greed and power run amok. Winscott & Associates is a prestigious accounting firm. Its managing partner, Olin, is a power hungry sexual predator, who works his way through the new associates and tosses them aside.

Audra Tanner is an associate that Olin raped when he made her an equity partner. Audra has spent the last five years plotting revenge against Olin and the other partners who looked the other way. She did this to the ex...more

This book turned out to be everything I was hoping it would be! I had no idea boardroom brawls could get so intense and…bloody.

I was drawn into the story from the word go, and instantly felt sympathy for the main character. What she had to endure is every woman’s worst nightmare. Some choose to remain victims after such an ordeal, but others – like Audra – choose to take matters into their own hands and fight back.

I am a big fan of strong female characters, so of course I took an instant liking...more

Basically, this is a story of revenge for a female partner in an accounting firm that promotes, uses and disposes of female employees by the alpha male and his male cohorts using sex as the weapon. What happened to the main character Audra is horrible, and she will then engage in the ultimate payback that takes five years. It is shown through the other characters as well, both male and female, and is a terrific story of power, money, corruption, using sex as power, and ultimately greed on the pa...more

“It’s Not Revenge She’s After – It’s a Reckoning”

Accountable to None, by Ashley Fontainne, is more than just a tale about revenge – much more. It is a story about the human spirit – the human endurance structure that is woven throughout each and every one of us. There comes a time in all of our lives when we feel that we have been victimized in one way or another. Do we select to seek out revenge – or do we simply choose to forgive our attacker? Justice must always be served!

Audra is a beautifu...more

Ashley Fontainne has written a thriller that takes you on a roller coaster ride. Accountable to None starts off with the rape and beating of Audra, the main character. She then sets off to exact her revenge. Enter Olin, this character makes my skin crawl and makes me want to smack him. He is mean to the core and as selfish as they come.

The whole of the story I was amazed to learn that everyone was basically afraid of Olin. Though as a person I could see why. He wouldn't and didn't have any probl...more

I purchased and read this book as I was fortunate enough to win the Goodreads First Reads giveaway of the sequel, Zero Balance; I thought that I should read the first book in the series to fully appreciate it when it arrives.

I am so glad that I did. The characters are vivid and compelling, with villains you loathe and the righteous you truly get behind in their quest for revenge; the righteous are not necessarily acting morally, but you empathise and understand their need for revenge, and thus,...more

i dont think im spoiling anything as it shows on the first few pages this is a revenge after a rape story. personally i find that kind of thing hard to read or watch on TV but i was glad i kept going, i think the author handled it so very well.
I liked the multiple perspectives used throughout the story as the main players within the company let the story evolve through their own stories. it is a great formula for storytelling and it keeps the story fresh as it goes between the different points o...more

My first introduction to Ms Ashley Fontainne was at her Goodreads author page. I had just finished watching the trailer for her novel Accountable to None. Immediately, I left her a message. Being someone who has wanted to make a trailer for my own book, I felt compelled to let Ms Fontainne know that I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Each frame was a chapter describing a book that I would be interested in reading. Accountable to None is a story of a woman who takes five years of her life planning...more

This book was made for Hollywood. Seriously. I can totally picture Angelina Jolie or some other extremely skinny actress playing Audra and winning an Oscar for this.

'Accountable to None' is the story of not one person but over 7-8 different people but it's all focused one, probably the most evil man alive named Olin.
The story begins with Audra crawled in her office hours after being raped and brutally hurt by her boss Olin, whom she met with that night thinking they were going to discuss her pro...more

I can't believe the number of people that have given this book a four or five star rating. The plot is unbelievable, the characters are one dimensional, and the author's writing is eighth grade at best. She or he (not sure which) has mastered the run-on sentence, and I've seldom read an author that can misplace modifiers so frequently. She/he also puts apostrophes where they don't belong and leaves them out when she should use them. (The plural of Barbie is Barbies, not Barbie's. That's the sing...more

Ashley Fontainne manages to achieve the impossible: she makes accountants interesting! Beginning with an incredibly harrowing scene you are grabbed hook, line and sinker into the story as the book becomes an almost compulsive read.

Audra is a worthy protagonist, almost destroying herself in her quest for vengeance against the despicable Olin, her boss. The action and revelations don’t stop as each main character is explored in depth, giving more weight to the overall plot. The book’s central scen...more

Ohmigosh, what a wonderful ride! I enjoyed Ms. Fontainne's book so very much! This book definitely is the definition of the old adage "Revenge is a dish best served cold!*

I got through the book, which is more than I can say for most of the self-published books I attempt to read. This author has more potential than many who post a book for sale on Amazon. The premise is a good one. The author did a fine job of exploring the emotions of the various characters. The long run-on sentences made the story harder to follow. I had to keep going back to the beginning of a sentence and re-reading. The point of view kept shifting, which can work in a tale such as this. But t...more

Ashley Fontainne is a fresh new voice in the mystery/thriller/suspense genre, and this debut novel is sure to blow your socks off. I just finished reading the unedited version on Kindle, and found myself rooting for the good guys (in this case ladies) and hoping the bad guys would get their "just desserts." I wasn't disappointed. I definitely recommend this author and Accountable to None. If you read the unedited version, don't focus on the typos and errors. Focus on the story, the characters an...more

I have always been an avid reader of the classics: Beowulf, The Iliad, and anything written by the master, William Shakespeare. In the past few years, I became a huge fan of James Patterson, Stephen King and Robin Cook.

However....

My favorite book of all was, and always will be, The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. The revenge on all those who hurt and betrayed Edmond Dantes and the incred...more
