This book was passed to me for review by the author. I would just like to say thank you very much for this, as this is now one of my favourite books of all time. I’m going to be very careful what I say on this review, as I’m genuinely worried about spoiling it for other readers by delving too much into the Storyline.

Audra, our heroine, is not the needing, wimpy type girl that seems to be in every book at the moment. She is a smart woman who wants revenge, not just for herself, but for all the people she knows have been wronged. She is the ultimate heroine and if she were real, she would be my best friend. It was scary just how much the character thought the way I would in her situation.
This book needs to be read by every female on the planet, and every man who knows how to treat women and every other person in his life correctly. You will enjoy every page, every word this book has to offer. You will feel every emotion possible, anger, rage, contentment, happy. Accountable to None has everything. The plot is intriguing, the first page grabs your attention. It’s as though the book generates hands and grabs hold of you until you have finished reading it. And even after you finish, it doesn’t let go. It stays with you.

This is a perfect, and well thought out tail of revenge on a much more than deserving character. (He’s a dick and I hate him. If he was real and I walked past him in the street – I would attack him viciously!)

You know when you watch a TV series, or a film, and the actor play the part so well that you can end up genuinely despising or loving that character? Well Author Ashley Fontainne has the ability to make you feel that way about her characters. That to me, is the signs of an exceptional writer.
I can’t wait for Ashley’s next book, and I will be haunting her until she is so sick of me, that she will have no choice but to let me read it.

I do not really know whether to give this a three or a four, so I will say 3.5 and give it four stars.

This book had good points, a lot of good points. It is a thriller, a page turner. I read books on my iPhone kindle app during my breaks and I found that I was taking a lot of breaks and they were getting longer.

I really liked the way the author showed me the crisis from different viewpoints. I was basically kept waiting to hear what the crisis actually was. For me that was very well done.

AMAZING. I won this book in one of the Goodreads giveaways, and as soon as I received it in the mail I read it. In one day. This book has interesting characters and a great fast-paced plot. It's short and easy to read so I would recommend this book to anyone. I couldn't put it down! Great revenge story. Loved it! Go Audra! :)

A Riveting Tale of Revenge!
Very well written. Ashley Fontainne’s novel ‘Accountable to None’ is a realistic peek into a winning-at-all-costs corrupt workplace that ultimately is brought down. Past misdeeds come to light; a murder and horrific sexual assaults. It reminded me of a John Grisham novel with its gripping David and Goliath justice prevails ending. Great characters who go through hell and back and one crazed psychopath. A great read in front of the fireplace on a chilly evening.

Oh what a tangled web these characters weave - it seems like everyone has something to hide. This book turned out to be everything I was hoping it would be! I had no idea boardroom brawls could get so intense and…bloody.

Ashley Fontainne has written a thriller that takes you on a roller coaster ride. Accountable to None starts off with the rape and beating of Audra, the main character. Winscott and Associates had its own form of sorority or fraternity initiation held in their own backroom. Silence is often golden. Rewards are pricy and others will come back at you and the payment quite dear. Audra will bide her time, make her move just when things fall right into place. Accountable to None is about one young girls journey back into life and how she will make those responsible for what happened Accountable to All.

We meet the man being the rape, Olin Kempler who has no idea what others might have in store for him. Berating and belittling his assistant Gabrielle in public gave him pleasure. Answering him and standing up for herself did more than just anger him. One man with a duel personality hating women, using his company for his own monetary purposes, finagling the books and demeaning his employees gave him great pleasure. Able to take over a business and run it not difficult until CNN catches wind of one of his deals and his whole world just might explode if he is not careful. Remember Audra Tanner? One woman has Gabrielle’s explosion and her attack on Olin placed on a CD to give to the police. But, Audra contacts her and what she has planned for her and some others will definitely bring chills down your spine and allow any man that is abuse and demeaning to not fool with us women. But, first you need to meet all of the players on Olin’s team, how they are linked together, just what kind of a hold he has on all of them and what the end result will be when Audra creates her own team of revenge and attempts to take them all down.

Meet the adulterous and womanizing men who make up the various partners of the firm Winscott and Associates. First the author introduces Kevin who in most circles would never be consisted a male magnet nor anyone that most women would even consider flirting with. But, money, power and position often win out and even the strangest of guys who have nothing more to offer that their bank accounts, ability to help someone get promoted seem attractive. Kevin is smart and has a strong grasp for numbers, check, balances and finances. Working 24/7 was not what he originally envisioned for himself. Now, much older with married children Kevin found himself wondering where it all went. But, one dalliance that is front and center in his mind brought him back to reality as he waits for dreaded test results. Yes, our first player might have fooled around once too many times and now he might have to pay the costly price for his actions as one woman named Miranda seems to hold the cards or shall I say the ledger to balance at the figures in her favor.

Next, we meet Carl whose assistant recaps the incident with Gabrielle for him as Kevin hopes the test results do not come back in Miranda’s favor leaving him with not just another child but possibly more fall out in his life than he needs. Carl’s assistant is his wife’s friend Renee. Save choice. Renee loves her job and is enjoying her account of what went on between Olin and Gabrielle. Carl was not sure how accurate her assessment was and decided he needed to delve into it more and find out exactly what went on. Olin, on the other hand was planning more than just revenge on Gabrielle who seems to be every man’s delight and primary candidate for his major wish lists. Carl needs to divert Renee’s attention from the office gossip and sends her on an all-important errand to buy his wife a new car so that he can focus on Olin’s latest disaster. As he listens to her recount the events one thing rings true and that is Gabrielle’s emotional outburst infuriated Olin, appeared that she was frightened but when confronted away from the office she took him down in a really grand fashion. Next, Robert is a pawn in Olin’s hands. One night out would change his life forever and recalling how Olin bailed him out in class, helped him over the hurdles of certain exams in college allows the reader to know that not just Robert but all of the major players are bound and linked to this awful and diabolical man who is self absorbed, self serving and definitely more Dr. Hyde than Dr. Jekyll as the author states. Revenge is really the key theme in this book Just whether these Teflon men get away with all of their indisgressions and more still remains to be seen, as our Audra has not taken full stage in our intricate plot. Each partner guilty of something mainly adultery, all but Robert whose lies and life would change if Olin divulges the truth about what happened in the back of his truck with Gina. Some men are leeches; some like Robert are followers and some like Owen sociopaths and others like Kevin and Carl ride on the coattails of Olin hoping to come out ahead. Why are all so impressed and fearful of him? What other holds does he have? Why protect him? The firm deals with oil and gas companies some legit and others shady. The returns are coming in and the work is there but Olin seems to be forgetting to sign them. What will happen as a result of what CNN has revealed? This all still remains to be seen as we meet Eric. Eric was the head of the company until Olin managed to take it over. But, that did not stop his involvement or his road to the top. Nicole and Eric are the next two players introduced, as he just like Robert receives a distressing email from Carl as the hammer is about to fall and the pieces will scatter in many directions. Sprigg Oil and Gas sited for its fraudulent audits, now being investigated, license in jeopardy, and SEC sanctions. What else could go wrong? Well: let’s meet the woman who is about to take them all down. As Audra begins to put the pieces together we learn how she managed to hack into the companies computer files, the emails of the partners, video feeds, computer print outs and much more. Making sure that she had daily backups, running the IT committee with employees who had no idea about her agenda Audra with the help of Gabrielle and one police detective waited five years to take down Olin and the rest of our players. Will she succeed? Will they find out who is behind the plot? Who is Gina? Was she really murdered?

Audra meets with one detective and the truth behind her rape and what she plans to do comes out. As they meet to discuss what do to about Olin, she completes hers with the detective. Let’s have Audra explain:
“I told the detective about my rape, what I went through and exactly what Olin did to me. I explained how I preserved the evidence for five years and would hand it over to him. I explained how I discovered the truth behind what happened to Gina and from there the detective ran with it. Getting her file and admitting they had some DNA evidence I came clean with my plan to take the company down. Those that would hand out the packages to each of the partners were in place as I am about to enter the boardroom and meet with the players and put my plan in motion. Gina would no longer rest in the woods as she did for 33 years. Closure for her family. Revenge for many others and me. The best is yet to come. One strong woman would change the lives of many and challenge one man in a way he would never see coming. As Audra enters the room and she commands the attention of those present executing her plan will shock the players, the reader and renew your faith in the true meaning of the word Revenge. Audra, thought to be quiet, and pliable proves to the partners that unless they conform to her demands things will definitely not go their way. With the help of one detective, one agent and her new assistant Olin just might meet his fate. Lies revealed. One murder solved. One family able to learn to the truth but this is far from the end, as you will learn. One woman still haunted by Olin and loyal to him and one man who feels the world owes it all to him and women are not worthy of anything but servicing his every need. Audra’s plan is in place. The players are all present and the end result you just won’t believe. Follow the high rollers of an accounting firm in Phoenix, Arizona as the revenge story unfolds. What could happen to drive someone to the deep dark recesses of revenge? What could cause someone to hole themselves up and cost so someone so much – all the things meaningful in life – that they would seek revenge?

Ashley is able to weave a quick story that is very fast paced. She is capable of pulling together characters while spending little time on details as other authors do to give the reader the image of the characters. There are some grammatical errors but none so bad to distract from the story.

There are some negative reviews that encompass the grammar and the inconceivable. As a criminal justice major there is such a thing as the CSI effect. Where we, as a society, have the inability to believe that something could happen without forensics evidence. Reading a novel is about relaxing and being taken into an area where there is an imagination. Is Alice speaking with a white rabbit really believable? How about the tales of Moby Dick? What about how many leagues under the sea? Once upon a time there were tales of fantasy, lore, and things that were out of this world. The tale that Ashley weaves may or may not be conceivable. At the end of the day, that’s not why we should pick up a book.

As an editor, there are some things that I want to correct; however, I want to correct things in all books – like the use of contractions in the story development. I, personally, am a traditionalist in writing composition – however – in today’s society can’t, ain’t and won’t are acceptable throughout story development – which in my mind is unacceptable. The book needs polished, however, the errors present are ones that do not detract from the story.

I hope there is a second coming down the pike – and I expect Ashley’s writings to become more polished, heightened, and more exciting. She set the bar for herself, but I suspect she’ll be able to achieve and surpass that should she continue to write. I am waiting for baited breath for a second. Ashley – do tell us there is a second.

I purchased and read this book as I was fortunate enough to win the Goodreads First Reads giveaway of the sequel, Zero Balance; I thought that I should read the first book in the series to fully appreciate it when it arrives.

i dont think im spoiling anything as it shows on the first few pages this is a revenge after a rape story. personally i find that kind of thing hard to read or watch on TV but i was glad i kept going, i think the author handled it so very well.

'Accountable to None' is the story of not one person but over 7-8 different people but it's all focused one, probably the most evil man alive named Olin.
The story begins with Audra crawled in her office hours after being raped and brutally hurt by her boss Olin, whom she met with that night thinking they were going to discuss her promotion to partner at the large Accounting Firm she works at, instead turns out he just wanted to get in her pants (understating it).

The incident left Audra emotionally and physically broken, as she had lost everything while trying to climb the corporate ladder (her friends,family and even her baby), only to be abused and hurt by the company she gave everything to. So, with all the vengeance within her, she decides that she needs her revenge, so she waits, quietly and patiently for five years, without drawing any unwanted attention to herself, to get it.

This is the story of how it all plays out and how Audra gets her retribution.

Honestly, this book blew me away. 'Accountable to None' is not for everyone - it has its dark side, actually, most of it is dark - but me, I like horror stories. From the first page, I swear I couldn't take my eyes off the book. Each of the characters had their own backgrounds explored in depth that made you understand them and hate them within a few pages. 'Accountable to None' was highly suspenseful and felt like going on a fast rollercoaster ride uphill till the moment when it all falls down. Oh, I waited for that moment. Ashley's managed to create a brilliant villan, a man full of evil and easy to hate. I found myself invested in Audra's requital.

The end of the book believable, but I do feel Olin deserves much worse. Not just him, all the others at the firm really. I guess I wanted more for a man like Olin and also the others, after five years of plotting. Hence, the 4 stars.

Ashley Fontainne's a natural at suspense/mystery/thrillers and I recommend this book to anyone who likes such genres and don't mind some adult & dark content. (less)

I can't believe the number of people that have given this book a four or five star rating. The plot is unbelievable, the characters are one dimensional, and the author's writing is eighth grade at best. She or he (not sure which) has mastered the run-on sentence, and I've seldom read an author that can misplace modifiers so frequently. She/he also puts apostrophes where they don't belong and leaves them out when she should use them. (The plural of Barbie is Barbies, not Barbie's. That's the sing...more

Ashley Fontainne manages to achieve the impossible: she makes accountants interesting! Beginning with an incredibly harrowing scene you are grabbed hook, line and sinker into the story as the book becomes an almost compulsive read.

While reading the blurb of the book I assumed this story will be centered around Audra, but I must admit I was tricked (in a good way of course). Ashley Fontainne created a complex thriller with many interwoven stories. Each of her characters tells a story explaining their relationship with Olin, revealing a bit of Olin's nasty and cruel nature. I must admit I was fascinated by this!
Ashley created a profound thriller that will grab you from the very first page! I don't think I ever hated a book character that much in my life, but it's not because Olin was not well developed...on the contrary, he feels too real and it seems all evil is placed in him. I really love Ashley's writing style and her knowledge in human psychology. This sure is a book that deserves to be made into a TV series or a movie. Speaking of movies I already thought which actor could play Olin..

If you're looking for a fast paced read, with action/mystery/thriller elements, this is the PERFECT read for you. The author is currently working on the sequel and I am really looking forward to reading it.

Ohmigosh, what a wonderful ride! I enjoyed Ms. Fontainne's book so very much! This book definitely is the definition of the old adage "Revenge is a dish best served cold!*

Accountable to none-Ashley Fontainne
Olin Kemper is a selfish and extremely hedonistic bastard. He disrespects anyone working under him especially women and doesn’t even like his fellow partners. Five years ago he brutally raped and beat a woman. Now she is out for revenge against him and the other partners who failed to help. This book was recommended to me by a friend, and author, Lindsay Anne Kendal. She told me this book would not disappoint, and she was right. (and she will read this so before you say anything, yes I know you have pretty good taste lol) Anyway, back to the review...

I got through the book, which is more than I can say for most of the self-published books I attempt to read. This author has more potential than many who post a book for sale on Amazon. The premise is a good one. The author did a fine job of exploring the emotions of the various characters. The long run-on sentences made the story harder to follow. Ashley Fontainne is a fresh new voice in the mystery/thriller/suspense genre, and this debut novel is sure to blow your socks off. I just finished reading the unedited version on Kindle, and found myself rooting for the good guys (in this case ladies) and hoping the bad guys would get their "just desserts."
