God Gave Us Christmas, written by List T. Bergren and illustrated by David Hohn, is a children's book describing the importance of Christmas and what it truly means. The story is simple and easy to understand and I think children would understand the meaning very easily. The major plot involves a young polar bear asking her mother questions about Santa Claus, who in turn decides to take her daughter on a trip to understand the importance of Christmas, and in turn, God.

Whenever I search for a children's book dealing with Christmas time, it's always a challenge and question on whether or not to deal with a book about Santa or about Jesus. This wonderful little treasure from Lisa's God Gave Us series makes it where there is not a choice, but just truth. Here, Mama takes time to show Little Cub in detailed images why and how God gave us Christmas and intertwines how Santa fits into the picture. I love the poetry of the prose and the pictures are fabulous and colo

My children and I enjoyed the book and its vibrant artwork immensely. The questions Little Cub brought up lead to interesting discussion topics for older children, while younger children seem to easily grasp the theme of the story. As Mama points out, "It is God and Jesus that we celebrate most come Christmas. Was always want to thank God for giving us Christmas."

God Gave Us Christmas by Lisa Tawn Bergren & illustrated by David Hohn is a holiday addition to the Little Cub series. Mia's review: I love Christmas! I love God too! and I love this book! My favorite part was when Mama Bear was tickling Little Cub, because it shows without speaking how God loves us. The Northern Lights are so pretty in this whole book! Now my review: The artwork in this volume is truly stellar bringing every scene to life. Mama Bear takes Little Cub on a journey to show him God

We liked this book a lot and will probably buy it for our home library. We want to teach Xavier the true meaning of Christmas and shift the focus away from Santa. This book does a great job of this. Little Cub asks Mama Bear about Santa so Mama takes her on a journey to discover God and His gift of Christmas.

Thoroughly delightful! A sweet, simple, darling book to cuddle up with. From the Northern Lights to a mighty iceberg, see how and why God is in all things and why He gave us Christmas.

I would give this really 4.5 stars. The true meaning of Christmas. I just wish it had more about the Savior's birth, but good for a starter for younger kids.

One of the BEST and most concrete descriptions for children (and adults) of how to sense God even though we can't see Him face to face!

Great book about the true meaning of Christmas! This book could be used in a religious school or at home to teach about why we celebrate Christmas.

Nicely written and beautifully illustrated to tell the reason for the season to young readers.

A fun story that keeps the focus on Christ, but has something nice to say about Santa too.
