Delicate Freakn' Flower (Freakn' Shifters #1)
by
Eve Langlais (Goodreads Author)
Dammit, just how many toes was she going to have to stomp on before people realized she was a Delicate Freakn’ Flower?

Is the spelling of Freakn' an American thing? Did everyone just wake up one morning and decide that they'd forgotten how contractions worked? Legit question. Is this some localized version of it as opposed to Freakin'?
My partner actually really liked this book. I must admit there was a lot less to complain about than I thought there would be. The main character was all aggression and sass. Instead of treating her bitchiness as a problem to be cured, people in the book embraced it and saw it as a...more

This Delicate Freakin’ Flower, gets not only one shifter but two and one of them the bear, let me tell you he is packing something huge. LOL. Oh my, this story takes you down Naomi’s path of wanting a non-chaos world. She want to mate with a human, so when she finds her shifter mate by surprise it freaks her out. Then she finds she has not only one but two shifter mates, well needless to say she leads these two hot shape shifters down a wicked path because she wants no part of it. The thing she...more

I read my first book by Langlais, Wickedest Witch, last month and thought it was a pretty decent paranormal erotic romance. So when I had the opportunity to get my hands on another one of her books I was like, hell yeah! Delicate Freakn' Flower follows Naomi, a self-proclaimed delicate flower. Even though she herself is a shifter, she doesn’t want one for a mate. She wants a normal, intelligent and rich pacifist human for a husband. But fate tells her wants to kick rocks when it gives her not on...more
A nice little novella. It felt complete in itself. Many times stories feel shoe horned into the shorter format. I'd have been happy if it were longer but it didn't need to be. This one was all there. The writing was fresh, amusing and well done. The shifter guys were hot and sweet and there was enough detail to set the world up with out bogging the story done or making you wonder huh? I will definitely try more by this author.
Naomi wants a calm normal human husband to spend the rest of her life with in a quiet house where she does not have to worry about her precious baubles getting broken. That said she wants to spend her adult life completely opposite of what growing up in her family home full of brawling shifters was like. She wants to be treated like the delicate flower that she sees herself as being. That is so not what Naomi is. She’s tough and can handle herself in any situation. She just doesn’t want chaos i...more
I love Ms. Langlais' humor. And her female characters. They are all kick-ass, take-no-prisoners strong, but melt when the right man comes along. Such was the case with Naomi. She's a wolf shifter, and because of the chaos in which she was raised (her brothers constantly brawl and tear up the house), she wants to marry a human and have a nice, "calm" existence.
But fate has different plans. She goes to a lacrosse game with her best friend (she doesn't like lacrosse), and gets pegged in the face w...more

Fans of Paranormal Romance who love shifter stories with HEAT!
Okay short and sweet to start, this was funny/outrageously sensual/quite honestly a very fun reading experience!
When Delicate Freakn' Flower first came to my attention first thought was that I had to get a copy to read for myself! My Opinion:
I have only read a few shifter books. I am so glad I read this one. This book was a don’t want to put you down book. In fact I read it in less then two days. I totally enjoyed the chase of Naomi. I loved the way that Eve wrote this tale with two shifter mates. It didn’t seem at all confusing or wrong. I loved it! I will be looking at more books by Eve. I have seen reviews and such about this book and it’s author and I am sorry I didn’t give her a chance sooner. I simply fell in love w...more

Ugh. So it's been almost a year since I first dipped my toes into the m/m world, and I haven't looked back. Books like this remind me why. Why on earth must women in romance novels be turned into such caricatures?
At least this book was equal-opportunity stereotypical. There's the plucky heroine with only older brothers who totally hates violence until she gets fed up and then dishes it out to anyone within range. There's the pack of werewolf brothers so mindlessly testosterone-fueled that they...more

When a book by Eve Langlais starts off with the first line of “He’s a freakn’ beast” you know you are in for one hell of a time. This story was inventive, unique and a LOT of fun to read. Definitely one of those “can’t put it down” books!
We start off with Naomi at a lacrosse game with her friend, Francine (who you see sparingly in this book, but will see much more of in the next book in the series, Jealous and Freakn’). Naomi isn’t the kind of girl who likes these brutal displays of aggression a...more

OMG I LOVE this book! The characters: kick ass heroine and hunk-a-liscious males! The sexual tension is at times hilarious, then turn the page and you're squirming in your chair! HOT!
Eve Langlais has a way with the written word. You're drawn into the world of Naomi, Ethan and Javier. (A world I think I'd like to live in!) She finds her shifter mate at a lacrosse meet. When Ethan (bear shifter)looks into her eyes, he KNOWS...but he also misses a catch-the ball smacks her in the face! He tracks he...more

ZERO holes barred in this erotic paranormal brouhaha. Heh, I said holes instead of holds. No holes barred… get it? Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk!

I loved EVERYTHING about this book. This is a shifter book. It brought me back to my first love in reading which is Paranormal Romance. Delicate Freakin' Flower had me laughing out loud in parts, loving the fact that two Alpha Shifter were chasing and trying to convince a female to mate them, I loved the build up to them falling for each other and the fact that Naomi fought it tooth and nail.

This is a fun, fast, quirky book of shapeshifters, where Fate determines the mates and that's that!
Naomi is from a large wolf family - 4 brothers and a father who are rough-housers and seem to solve every disagreement with "violence". Naomi wants a more normal life - where beautiful furniture and delicate things, like her glass butterfly collection, aren't always trashed or about to be. So Naomi's been dating humans, not shifters. And that's not been working so well for her.

Why do I do this to myself? This was a distinct step-up from the last Freakn' Shifters book I read (Jungle Freakn' Bride) but it still had some rather creepy undertones to it that kept me from fully enjoying the story.
I don't know what it is, specifically, about Langlais's books that brings out the feminist in me. It might be the way that everyone likes to steam roll over the heroine's wishes as if she's a stupid child who doesn't know what's good for her. It might be that the books fail the Bec...more

I'm going to start out by saying that as a general rule I do not like stories with threesomes, or at least where it's the focus of the book. I kept hearing such good things about Eve Langlais, and then I won a copy of her book, and she broke through my aversion. First of all, Delicate Freakn' Flower is has a great plot with witty dialog that had me smiling during the entire story. I could tell the story was NOT written around the naughty sex scenes--they were PART of the plot. The sex scenes wer...more
I noticed this one when it was released, but I never bought it, so when it was offered as a free read I downloaded it. And I am glad I did. I loved this book in so many ways. It was funny, filled with snark and snappy comebacks. I loved Naomi, Her snarkiness, her determination to keep her independence. She was scarred by the past, and her reasoning made sense. She knew exactly what she wanted- which was to not mate with a shifter. Thank you very much. Ethan and Jared are determined to show her s...more
Holy COW! This book NEEDS to come with a warning label. Oh wait, it does *rereads "this is a hot threesome story..."* Well it needs to include that the sexiness and intensity between Naomi, Ethan and Javier is so HOT that if you're not swooning, you're hosing off the bed sheets! I absolutely loved this book and it's another winner for Eve.

I was so in the mood to read something smexy and delicious. This book delivered on that 100%. I loved Naomi's character I thought it was hilarious that she was so feisty but yet so contained. It really brought something to the story that she just wanted a quiet home life where she could have nice things. I did feel bad for her at the beginning of the book when she gets hit in the face at the hockey game but of course then we got to meet Ethan and Javier. I really enjoyed this book and not only for the sexy scenes. You get 2 shape-shifters both destined for one feisty wolf. Most wolves would love to find their soulmate but not her. I loved this book! I'm not an Eve Langlais newbie, so I'm not sure what took me so long to get into this Freakn' series. *head desk*
Wolf shifter Naomi grew up in a house where they had no "nice things" because her five brothers and father were brawlers and broke everything. Here's another first for me .. a story about 3 shifters falling in love.
I was a litter nervous about this book - but since I read some high praised reviews about it - I thought I'd give it a chance.
I'm glad I did - it was really a cute story.
First we meet Naomi - the "Delicate Freakin' Flower" She is a Werewolf shifter - and she's SO TIRED of the violence. Being raised with 5 brothers and a dad who loves to wrestle just as much as the boys do, she is ready to be done with the whole shifter spe...more

Cute story.
Naomi goes to a shifter Lacrosse game, which I guess is huge in Canada. She can't keep her eyes off two of the players and when her eyes meet one of them, he misses catching a ball that hits her in the head. Ethan realizes she is his mate and he needs to apologize. Javier, his best friend, goes along as support and finds out she's his mate too. Eve Langlais' books make me laugh. Like, full-on, laugh out loud guffaws. In this case, it was Naomi that did it. She's bad-ass and when she's in one of her moods, even her shifter brothers get out of her way. That's not the funny part...oh, no. The funny comes from her describing herself as a delicate freakn' flower when she is so clearly not the shrinking violet type. She is strong. She might like pretty things and she might think that she wants someone who isn't going to challenge her, but sh...more

Delicate Freakn' Flower by Eve Langlais is about a young werewolf woman named Naomi who grew up in a household with five older brothers who tended to get scrappy a lot around the house. The violence inherent in the male animal shape-shifters to disclose deep feeling in her childhood home did not lend itself to Martha Stewart type decorating or sensibilities. So her mom had to “make do” to with mismatching dishes and sturdy, well worn furniture.

I loved it! Delicate Freakin Flower caught my eye right away and made me want to read more and more, I couldn't put it down because I just HAD to know what was going to happen next! I keep asking myself if Naomi was going to mark the men or if she is going to have them mark her. And when it gets to the sex scenes, you might want to be reading alone! I blame this book for my last sleepless night. I had too much fun reading it. Of course, I knew what would happen but I enjoyed seeing how mean Naomi, the main character, could be to practically everyone around her. Delicate Freakn' Flower is just plain pulp. You can even tell from the sarcastic title that it isn't going to be anything serious. But if that's what you're looking for, it's all good. There isn't a lot to the plot, but not much is promised in the description either. You get what's on the cover in this one.
