With this fifth volume focusing on Syx (the mind reader), I already expected a slightly different 'test', or task. After all, fighting with weapons of the mind is different than using more corporeal abilities. There are still physical aspects of the test, but the focus is much more inward. Syx and Echo get a lot closer, as expected, and some of the secondary characters start finding their mates as well, which was a nice surprise. I wasn't sure that was going to happen, but it is a good addition....more
typical gabrielle evans serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical gabrielle evans? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

I think this is my fave yet. More plot and action. I laughed and smiled in parts. I think Craze is going to be a hoot and there was more interaction between all the demons.
I also found Echo to be less obnoxious in this book.
I am still really enjoying the series :)

Another winner for me, I really like this series. Mind you they are getting very kinky but it doesn't spoil the story at all ;)
Continuing to enjoy this series. I love the new characters and new relationships that come up in each new book, and I love how everyone grows closer together. Can't wait to see what trial they all face next and how everything will end up. Fantastic series, I'm really enjoying it!
