Do you remember Colin from my Tempting Teaser of A Night to Surrender? No? Well, let me refresh your memory. Colin is an unrepentant rake. He enjoys women and they enjoy him. He is arrogant and can come across as quite an ass. But what does he care? The women love him just as he loves them. He might have a tendency to make a mess of things but he always manages to put on a charming smile and turn the situation to his advantage.

5+ stars – Historical/Regency Romance

Wow! What can I possibly say about this one to convey how absolutely wonderful it is? Talk about a charming, wickedly splendid read and a smashing good time! A Week to Be Wicked is one of the most engaging, refreshing, witty, banterific, and all around pleasing historical romances that I’ve read in quite a while and definitely so far this year.

Colin is a handsome, flirtatious, affable, generous, funny, sweet, and utterly lovable scoundrel whose tormented pa

Nerd Words Are Sexy!!!

And the way you pronounce all those polysyllabic words? Makes me rock hard, every time.

This book was MADE…FOR…ME. I’m a huge nerd, ladies. I’m obsessed with books (duh). I love math. I loved school and still love learning.

This book starts on page 1 and doesn’t stop until the last word. This story is full of adventure and imagination. It’s sexy, hilarious, and fast-paced. Ther

A Week to be Wicked is the second book in Tessa Dare’s thoroughly entertaining, completely brilliant Spindle Cove series. It’s funny, romantic, poignant, passionate, sexy, inspiring, clever, delightful… in a word – it’s wonderful!

Not all young ladies are looking forward to seasons, balls, comings out, love matches - or any match at all, for that matter! But what’s a lady to do when her whole life will be defined by how well she marries? How do young misses c

For amateur geologist Minerva Highwood, her passion for science is equaled only by her love for her sisters. Fearing that Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne that lazy, aimless, dim-witted rake might have designs on her beautiful, sweet sister, Minerva proposes a plan to Colin whereby both of them will end up winners. And her sister will be safe from the clutches of an arranged Society marriage.

If Colin escorts her to Edinburgh, Scotland and helps with her presentation to the Royal Geological S

"A geology symposium." He flicked a glance at the journal. "This is the scandalous midnight proposal. The one you trudged through the cold, wet dark to make. You're inviting me to a geology symposium, if I leave your sister alone."

And so it starts, one of the sweetest romance of this year. Colin and Minerva is absolutely banterlicious!

I used my monthly Audible audiobook coupon for this high raited historical a while ago. ...And it was so well worth every coin. ~ Eleven hours narrated by Carolyn Morris in a simply fantastic way. It's no time for any review writing today so I will do this very short. (LoL!! know me.)

I liked this, it was cute it had some really funny moments, some great sexual tension at times and all and all it was fun. It did drag a bit towards the end and that is why I’m only giving it 3.5 stars instead of 4.0 to 4.5 I was really getting a little bored towards the end.

Minerva’s head is always stuck in a book, she practically lives in them. Her mother believes that there is no hope for Minerva. Queue the opening scene to Beauty and the Beast.

FIVE stars! Intense, funny, sensual, passionate, and flat out wonderful!! I can't get this book out of my head.

It's taken me a bit to write this review. I just couldn't come up with what I wanted to say. Often, if I hear that a book is funny, that's all it is in my little head. A funny book. This book was funny, but SO MUCH MORE! It's as if the humor just added to the intimacy between Minerva and Lord Payne...they built their relationship on mutual snarkiness and slow growing affection. Edit 02/21 : After having read most of the books of this series, this one appears to be my favorite and I'm changing my rating to 4.5. Yeah, it contains some major parts completely unbelievable but I. DON'T. CARE. Colin and Minerva are the best. That's all.•

I can't believe I've had this book loaded on my Kindle for months, and I'm just now reading it! A Week To Be Wicked is the second installment in Tessa Dare’s Spindle Cove series and it’s such a deliciously fun read!

Tessa Dare, I needed this today.

After a string of mediocre/terrible books, this was like a beacon of light in the darkness.

After years of reading romance, this book, and the one before it (A Night to Surrender), might just have converted me to a die-hard historical romance fan. Honestly, this book was pretty much perfection.

I need to stop and give a HUGE shout out to Carolyn Morris, one of the most skilled female narrators around. She was spot on, and I mean FLAWLESS, in he

Minerva is a nerdy girl. She loves reading and science. She's the middle sister and her mom has given up hope of her ever landing a husband.

Colin is a shameless rake. He's riding out his time before he can access his money.

Minerva comes up with a plan that will benefit both of them. Her plan will take them on a week long trip. Along the way they encounter many obstacles.

Loved this 2nd installment in this series! Did I love it as much as the first? Almost.. but I still loved it. When I first developed my love for reading in my pre-teens.. it was the Sweet Valley High books that sparked my obsession with books.. then by my late teens I had graduated to the historical romance genre and by my mid- 20's I had moved on to contemporary. From there I dove head first into taboo, bdsm, erotica, romantic suspense, Ya, NA.. seemingly leaving my love of historicals behind.

This was fun and it made me think "road trip" although maybe "coach trip" would be a more apt description seeing as this is a historical romance, lol.

Colin and Minerva were an unlikely couple. He's the handsome, entitled rake able to charm the pants (or skirts in this case) off any woman except for Minerva who despises his arrogance. Minerva is not the average girl of the time, looking for a man to marry, she's more interested in science and geology, but somehow Colin gets under her sk

When Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, is forced to answer his door one rainy night he does not expect the proper Minerva Highwood to be there. After all, Minerva and himself do not exactly see eye to eye on any matters. So he decides to thrown in a few conditions that will be sure to scare her off but when they don't, Colin finds himself help ...more

An outstanding historical read! Definitely one of the shining stars of 2012 so far!
Though part of a series, this one can certainly be read as a stand-alone.

I loved the mischievous banter between the two leads, the absurd funny stories that Colin sprouted shamelessly, the undeniable passion between them and the ending! I loved the ending :)

This book is simply said W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!!!!!

I enjoyed everything! There was not a tiny, teeny, single things I didn't like!

It is wonderfully witty! It is occasionally hilarious! It is hot! It is simply EXCELLENT!!!

I loved, loved Minerva! She's one of the most fantastic heroines! She's intelligent, compassionate, sweet (withhout being saccharine), real, honest, no-nonsense... I don't have enough words to describe how awesome she was!

And Colin? What a wonderful hero! He's perfect for Minerva ju

Today, I read this book for the fifth time, more times than any other book I've ever read (and that includes the classics). Due to the high number of great reviews out there, I can only say this: READ.IT. If you don't, you will be left out of an euphoric sensation that transcends the romance genre.

I think there are three words that describes this story:
Delightful, Adventurous and Surprising.

I was not expecting the story to be so adventurous. Usually with historicals you tend to know what will happen, but not with this one, there were enough twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat.

I loved Colin and Minerva. They are the cutest characters I've read in awhile. Their chemistry was perfect. I really liked how unusual the bespectacled Minerva was (I love intelligent heroi

Thank you Tessa Dare for writing such a truly wonderful book and creating such an unforgettable couple in Colin and Minerva! You made me laugh; you made me cry; you made me blush; you made me sigh.

I had only ever read one ebook intro by TD and it was just ok with me. I am glad that I gave her another chance, because I loved this book. It was sweet and charming the entire way through. I don't mean that it didn't have some emotional depth, it did. But it was also light and funny in a lot of places. I loved Minerva and Colin as a couple. Then to find out he has been writing down ways to tease her with her name. I will have to go back and pick up the first book, because evidently they had bee ...more
OK, so...this book. I knew it wasn't going to be funny or even remotely good because Tessa Dare has been a FAIL with me in the past. (And I really can't be arsed to write much of a review because, guys, this book.... -__-)

However, I do give her credit that she has mastered a unique ability to write in a way that is both "OMFG kill me now!" rage and "OMFG kill me now!" boredom at the same time. Tedious cliches, unfunny dialogue and situations, AND writing that is technically writing but lacks any

A wickedly hilarious and delightful book!

Geologist Minerva Highwood loves her rocks more so than her men. Actually that’s untrue, it’s just one particular man that sets her on edge and it’s the incorrigible rogue Lord Payne – Colin. A bluestocking, with an intelligent mind she certainly keeps Colin on his toes.

Lord Payne is one hot, loveable, cheeky and absolutely adorable rogue. He’s continuously messing up, saying the wrong things at the wrong times. It’s hard not to fall in love with him. Alt

I think this is where I'll pause my Tessa Dare binge-reading. I can't get over how funny and charming this was!

Minerva focused her gaze and held the pistol steady. “Do I shoot him?”

“No. No, there’s a knife in my right boot. Fetch it, kindly.”

Keeping the pistol trained on the robber at all times, she moved sideways until she could reach the boot. She found the knife with one hand and fumbled it open, wielding it like a dagger.

“All right,” she said, glaring down at the highwayman. “So where do I
For the love of tits.
This was bloody fantastic.

There's wit, but not at the expense of romanticism.
Passion and sensuality, but not at the expense of a clever storyline.
A happy ending worthy of dreamy sighs, but not at the expense of credibility.

There is a fucking awesome bookish spinster of an MC with brains and guts and self-respect who grows and matures throughout the book in a way that had me cheering for her.
There is a love interest - well, actually another MC, in essence - who is rakish a

This was better than the first in the series. The couple met in that book -- A Night to Surrender -- and they sparked like crazy. Not in a good way. So you just knew they were destined to end up together.

Lord Colin Sandhurst is an unserious rake who can't wait to get back to his life in London after taking care of the Spindle Cove militia started by his cousin, the Earl of Rycliff (A Night to Surrender's hero). Colin has all kinds of back story that make his behavior make sense, but he's definit

As this epic love story just needed telling.
