Blech! That is the sum total of my opinion.
Not worth the time.
Not a good plot.
Not good characters.
Heck, not even a good romance and these two have fought through death itself to be together so the romance should be better than tepid, dontcha think?

This series was originally three books and while the ending was bittersweet, if a bit hurried, that ending worked. This feels very much like the old books were dusted off and it was decided that more money could be made from this series without remembering that the story is finished. Or should have been.
Sometimes a story has simply been told.
Should be left alone.
Should not be added on.
And so you're thinking well, quitcherbitchin, you chose to read the dang thing. Yes, I surely did and I regret that. These last two installments have ruined my original feelings about the series to the point where I now dislike the whole mess.
Okay, to specifics.
Tristan has returned from the Great Beyond in the body of Luke, a murder suspect whom, as it turns out, was murdered himself. There is much about how Luk-stan must stay hidden, until later in the book when he mostly doesn't and okey-dokey then, whatever.
Luk-stan and Ivy are in love and kiss. Does that sound a bit dull? Yeah, it is like that, there is no warmth or passion felt between these two. They could have been two platonic friends investigating this murder with the total lack of emotion between them. It's missing and since the overall arc is about unending, eternal, I-can't-go-on-without-you love, that is a substantial missing piece. We are told they have this love for one another, but it isn't shown or felt. Their conversations and soulful glances don't feel like two teenagers. They sound very stilted and formal, not like anyone normally speaks or behaves.
There is a large cast of characters, Kelsey, Dhanya, Max, Chase, Bryan, Alicia, Tony, about whom I care nothing. They are not developed in any way and are mostly various generic types who don't move the action along in any neccessary way. They party, they hang out, none of it is interesting and reads like the filler that it is.
Most of the plot is about the murder of Corrine(wait! who's Corrine,you might be asking, but don't worry, this whole plot which is most of the book, truly isn't important), with side bits about Beth being taken over by the also-dead Gregory and Beth being nasty, unkind, attempting murder, etc. Wow, that is edge-of-your-seat stuff, right? No. It is pushed aside so much to deal with the plot that I cared nothing about that when some action happens there, it seems stuck in, as if the author just remembered she needed to move that plot along.
This feels like the author was desperate to write more in the series, but didn't really have any new ideas for her characters so she either recycled used plots or crafted one about people that no one cares about.
All of the actual action happens in the last fifty or so pages.
So, the final book will be about Tristan losing his soul, I suppose. I should care, but I don't. I don't actually think the author does, either.
Badly done.

I really realy think that Elizabeth Chandler should've stuck to the first three books. It's true that the ending was bittersweet for those Tristan and Ivy fans, but it had the proper closure and everything was resolved. Evercrossed I found pretty interesting, although maybe too short. I really wanted to love this book, I actually thought it was the last one in the series, but no,stupid me there's going to be ANOTHER book out. So, Ivy and Tristan's story starts off good: Suspense and mystery is shown from the begginning. I found that Elizabeth Chandler did something she shouldn't have: she paced the story way too slow. Maybe she was trying to "build the suspense", but there wasn't any to begin with. The first 100 pages (maybe I'm exaggerating) is back story. I found myself skipping paragraphs and sentences to get to the "good" part. Even what once was "cute" and "adorable" now constantly annoyed me. Tristan and Ivy were reckless in this book, and their supposed "eternal love" wasn't even that strong in this "novella". I find that what was being portrayed in this book, has been done before , like for example in the Dirty Little Secrets/Lies/Games/Voices books by Laurie Faria Stolarz. I was a huge fan of this series, but I really believe that Elizabeth Chandler should have either: A)Left if at the original trilogy or B)Tried to forget about making money and actually write a good quality suspense book with a decent enough cliffhanger at the end -.- The only reason I would ever rate this book 5 stars,
would be because of the amazing cover, but no, I won't stoop that low. 1.5 to 2 stars.

If you're a really big fan of the Kissed by An Angel trilogy, then maybe you shouldn't read this book... or at least don't spend money on it. Borrow it from someone that's lucky enough to still want to buy these books. I was sent an advanced copy, so thankfully, no spending money for me ^.^(less)

I loved this book, I feel like the author put more details and mystery to her book. I couldn't stop reading, I felt like I was litteraly in the book. I like how there was twists in the mysteries, when I thought that could be the victim, it would unravel into a different mystry every time I thought it was close to finding out who the murder is just kept going till the end.

El nunca mas a va volver a ser Tristán el nadador, perdió a sus amigos, a su familia, esta en el cuerpo de otra persona de la que no sabe mucho, acusado de asesinato y encima ahora este final? demasiado abrupto podríamos decir. No lo entiendo, perdió la esencia! El libro se me hizo tedioso, y solo rescate unos pequeños momentos de lo que eran Tristán e Ivy. Creo que no tenía sentido extender tanto la historia. Tomo un rumbo bastante cursi.
Esperare el próximo porque leí todos y me gustaría saber como termina, pero no es que quede desesperada por saber mas de él!

Personally, I feel that Everlasting was a fairly good book. It really popped up out of nowhere, which made it exciting to read. After I finished Soul mates I felt like the story wasn’t over, that something was still missing. This book really helped to wrap up the loose ends and answer all my questions.

EVERLASTING definitely lived up to my expectations. Tristan's soul is inside Luke's body. Tristan/Luke has to lie low, as Luke is an escaped criminal. Part of the story is that Ivy and Tristan try to uncover clues that will help them clear Luke's name. They drive to River Gardens, Luke's neighborhood. Ivy, disguised as a friend of Luke's murdered ex-girlfriend (and Luke is suspected by the police to have killed Corinne), Corinne, visits people that Corinne knew and that Luke knew. Luke also visits Corinne's grandmother. Tristan and Ivy discover that Corinne used her photography skills as a means of blackmailing people. In this particular case, Corinne has some evidence other than photos, though. She had a cufflink matching one that was found near the scene of a hit-and-run car accident. We find out in the end that the cufflink belongs to Luke's friend, Bryan. Bryan was drunk coming home from a hockey awards dinner, crashed, and didn't want to stick around and have his name connected with a car accident. He feared it would ruin his chances of leaving the not-so-great neighborhood of River Gardens and becoming a star hockey player. When Corinne found the cufflink in his car (which was in the neighborhood auto body shop) when she was photographing the cars, Bryan realized that something needed to be done about Corinne to save himself. So, he killed her and pinned it on Luke. Then, Bryan killed Luke - or so he thought. Luke's soul was dead and replaced by Tristan's.

The other part of this story is that Gregory has come back and is controlling Beth, perhaps the sweetest character in the series. Beth, under the power of Gregory, tries to kill Ivy several times. Will doesn't believe Ivy that Beth is in trouble until he actually witnesses Beth attempting to suffocate Ivy. Then, he has no choice but to believe. Near the end of the story, Beth calls Lacey, an angel that Tristan befriended when he was angelic, and asks her how to get demons to leave the world. Lacey, not knowing where Beth would go with the information, told her that the "host" has to die. So, Beth formulates a plan to hang herself to save her friends from Gregory. Ivy, Tristan/Luke, Will, and Bryan all go to stop Beth and they only just make it. Though it's not 100% clear in the book, I believe that Beth was dead for a split second and then was revived. The reason for this is because Gregory did leave Beth.

The story ends with Beth and Will going to Ivy's stepfather's house for Beth to recover. Bryan jumped off a bridge after confronting who he believes is Luke. Tristan/Luke also jumps and climbs down the bridge. Ivy doesn't know if he is safe, dead, or in the custody of the police (who were called by a night fisherman who saw Bryan jump). Ivy calls to Lacey, who doesn't know where Tristan is. She does tell Ivy, though, that Tristan is in trouble because he brought Ivy back to life in the last book. Tristan had told Lacey that he had heard voices, and Lacey heard them, too. And so we are left in suspense. I hope that Elizabeth Chandler is working on the next book! (less)

The Kissed by an Angel series overall is an absolute breathtaking gem. Elizabeth Chandler doesn't disappoint at all, with this fifth (third?) installment. This series just keeps on getting better and better and has become one of my fave ongoing series.

Surprising to say this but I miss Gregory much more after seeing what Bryan did. It felt like Bryan was just a shadow of Gregory in the evil/psychotic department. Btw I was pretty spot on about my hunch on Bryan and was glad it turned out to be tru...more

I really liked this book. I was struck by the fact that Ivy was with Will because i haven't read Kissed by an Angel in a while. Tristan being trapped in Luke's body and having to deal was a little bit too much of what I expected But I was very excited (and kind of scared) when beth showed signs of Gregory inside her. I recommend this book to whoever loves thrillers with a tang taste of love, pitty, sacrifice, and the feeling readers crave of not being able to put the book down!

End this series already. There is so much back story now the characters aren't the only ones dragging through mud once in a while. Finally Tristan focused on the loss of his parents. That part was moving, but look how many books it took to get there. Once again there are so many loose ends left hanging -no pun intended to Beth. I feel horrible only giving this 3 stars but in truth I believe the series should have ended after the third book. I think because the series gained in popularity that Chandler continued it. I couldn't even finish reading the book, it was that bad. Elizabeth Chandler should stick to what she writes best.. Young adult mundane romances.. Supernatural and paranormal romances are so not her forte..
True she did a good job with Kissed by an Angel , but the quality of her books just keeps on deteriorating as the series proceeds.
I had cried my eyes out when Tristan died in the first book. Now I could quite cheerfully clob him to death and enjoy doing so!

Why can't Gregory leave Ivy and Tristan alone!?!?! I HOPE HE DIES!!!!
So Ivy and Tristan, who's trapped in Luke's body, search for clues that would clear suspicion of him murdering Corinne, Luke's ex-girlfriend. They find Alicia, a friend of his whose in love with him and she's his alibi, b/c they discover the time frame for Luke to have committed the murder is way too small - it doesn't make sense - what's worse is Luke's lost his memory, so Tristan who's inside him can't go through his head to find what they're looking for. Ivy and Luke go talk to Gran, Corinne's grandmother, who didn't believe that Luke was a murderer and then talk to the guy who found Corinne's body too
Bryan was the one who helped Luke get away from the police after the suspicion got thrown on him and WIll finally believes Ivy about Beth being taken over by Gregory b/c she tries to suffocate Ivy while she's sleeping. Tristan hides out at the abandoned bell tower and Ivy goes to see his parents and introduces Tristan in Luke's body as Gabriel :( it's so sad, his parents are like so weary after he'd died 2 years earlier.
Anyway, Gran finds a cufflink which is their clue and Beth regains control of herself long enough to try and kill herself - which is the only way to get rid of the demon but they save her in time :) But Alicia is killed by Corinne's actual murderer :O she was so sweet :O

at the end, Ivy and Tristan are tailed by a car and they get freaked out - when they reach a dead end the car comes at them again and they discover it's BRYAN!! O____O I WAS LIKE WTFFFFF!!! HE FRAMED HIS FRIEND FOR MURDER JUST B/C HE WAS SCARED HIS HOCKEY CAREER WOULD BE OVER B4 IT EVEN STARTED !!!!!!! OMG I HOPE HE DIED!!! TRISTAN THREW THE CUFFLINK TO DISTRACT BRYAN FROM IVY!! AND TO GET AWAY - HE JUMPS DOWN INTO THE WATER AND BRYAN GOES AFTER HIM!!! BRYAN CONFESSED TO THE MURDERS!!! IVY FREAKS AND HOPES TRISTAN IS ALIVE!!! HE BETTER BE ALIVE !!! I MEAN, THEY DESERVE THEIR HAPPY ENDING!!!
and Lacey tells Ivy that Tristan may not have a lot of time at the end - Lacey is an angel now and helps them - b/c he'd been hearing these strange voices throughout the book - he became a fallen angel after he bestowed the Kiss of Life on Ivy!!!
Can't wait to read EVERAFTER!!!!
I wanna know what happens!!!!!!

Synopsis
Realizing that Tristan is confined in the body of a murderer, Ivy must find evidence to prove him innocent so they can once again be together. In addition to this, Gregory has successfully conquered Beth's mind, manipulating her to do harmful things to Ivy. In the fifth book of the Kissed by an Angel series, readers who enjoyed the previous trilogy will definitely find Everlasting worth the read.

It was a really hard book to get into, the first book (the trilogy) was by far one of the best books I’ve read at the time, it was gripping and I could not put it down. The second book wasn’t as much, but it was bearable. It was almost forced, I was really excited about these books and I was really disappointed by them.
This story is really unrealistic compared to the first story about Ivy and Tristan and him being an angel. This was just crap. I mean so many deaths/ murders? I thought the book...more
