Melanie Marks' "Kissing" is a collection of three short stories that, if given proper expansion, would've made wonderfully written stories. Instead, they somewhat missed the mark in their brevity. In "The Kiss," a young woman becomes angry when her friend distances himself from her unexpectedly. In "The Love Song," a young songwriter finds inspiration when she realizes a confidant truly loves her. And finally, "Stalking Aiden" has a young woman whose devotion doesn't go unnoticed for the right r ...more

Cute quick read...

Felicity and Dylan have been friends since grade school, but things change one night after Dylan kisses her. It isn't that she didn't want him to she did. It isn't that it was bad it wasn't. Actually it was the best it's just what happened after that confused her.

As Felicity tries to work through what went wrong she has to keep Dylan at arms length but Dylan is determined to close that distance but why?

This is a coming to terms for both of them, will it blossom or fail?

Probably 3.5. Fun, quick, feel-good read! Sweet little YA romance stories; however, practically NO kissing and largely too-abrupt endings for me. But, they give you a good, happy feeling. I especially liked the first story.

One thing: Why does this author always use the names Riley and Ava in her stories? Makes me think the same people are falling in love over and over again with different people--not exactly a “happily ever after” (or even “happy for the moment”) scenario… (When I read FALL FOR

Really short. Like two to three pages each short. Even for an anthology that's really short.

Read this because I wanted to read "Stalking Aiden" and that was actually the one I liked the most it was super cute, but I would've liked a resolution that told me if they ended up together or not, it was really vague.

"Love Song" and "The Kiss" were okay but I felt cheated by how short it was, I'd just get into start liking the characters and then BAM! We're done.

Just to be clear, shortness was surprisin

I thought this was a cute anthology. It contains three very short stories. While I thought they were enjoyable I do wish the characters were a bit more unique. In all the stories I’ve read of Mark’s the girls are all the same. They have similar interests and personalities. The guys are the same as well. Aside from different plots(although the plots are pretty similar too) and scenes the characters could really be interchangeable. Maybe I just read too many in a row. Overall, I thought they were ...more
There were three short stories in this Little book and they were all I needed at the time. It’s amazing but in barely 4-6 pages you get to know this relatable, friend-material characters that I would have liked to know better. I really liked that although it was a romance book, not all stories had “happy endings” or “endings” at all, it felt natural because in real life it’s like that, you don’t always get closure, and many stories have really open endings. It was a light, quick read that I woul ...more

This book of three short stories had me glued to it and entertained the whole way through. I enjoyed it and was able to read it quickly in one sitting. The last story at first had me thinking...wait....I need a little more closure on the ending. However after thinking about it..I think it ended perfectly. These stories were cute, sweet and fun HS stories with a quick and easy/good pace.

2.5 Stars - These were very very short stories that would be good for tweens, as the stories were pretty innocent. The Kiss was okay but the last two were lacking - needed more interaction between the main characters. The Kiss - if Matt was into Nicole, why was he giving the girls at the slumber party kissing lessons while she was there?

I loved these stories! So sweet and good. My very favorite was the first one. I loved Matt. His torment, his note, awww. Good stories. Awesome price--a buck. But do note, they are short stories. Just sayin' so you know in advance. But they're really good! I liked, I liked, I Iiiiiked! :)

Unoriginal and lacking depth. Sounds
like it was written by a middle school girl.

I've read better YA short stories.
I recommend "Let it Snow" (John Green/
Maureen Johnson/Lauren Myracle). SO much better.

This book has the same stories as High School Boys, Nicole and Matt appear there, then the Love song story about Megan and Josh, is beautiful but really short and the one about Sara stalking Vince was really nice.

But as I said before, there are really short stories, this should be a free ebook.

Short sweet stories. Takes you less than one hour to read the whole thing. More appropriate for teenagers. But I still enjoyed it.
It was short, cute and sweet!
