I really enjoy most of the books by Melanie Jackson, the characters are quirky in a good way. The mysteries pretty solid and the heroines do not act carelessly or wait for the men in their lives to save them. the one downside is the shortness of many of the books and this one could easily have been the final chapters of Due North, the first book in the series. That said i did enjoy the book. Strangers are still coming to town looking for treasure form the plane that crashed several months ago. ...more

This was a little different because we have a girl,Butterscotch who is living in the wilds of Canada .
She seems to have something she is hiding from and she is falling for a Mountie while they look for a murderer. It was a heck of a hunt. They deal with finding big bones that they think are from big foot. It was a quick , fun read.

This is a short book that continues the story of Butterscotch Jones and her quirky neighbors in Canada. It contains the humor and good plotting I liked in Due North the first book in the series. I do think one needs to read the first book in order to understand some of the plot in this one.

This is the second in the series and I am still amused by them - they are quick reads, but it is fun sometimes to read books like this.......

Great book

I chose this book because the name caught my interest. The story line kept me reading until the end. I was very disappointed, I wanted it to continue.
