Connor is your typical middle-school kid. He surfs with his best friend, Wade; he enjoys riding his bike and exploring; he does well in school. This year, however, has brought one problem: he's been targeted by the school thug, Zack, for constant intimidation and beatings. From the moment I started reading this, it was very hard to put down. The first line grabbed me and the story would not let go. Anyone who has ever been bullied will identify with the protagonist's feelings of anger, fear, resentment, and helplessness. I will be recommending this one many times to the kids who come in the library.

I am a lifelong resident of the Charleston, S.C. area. I have been writing since 2010 while working full-time.

I enjoy a wide range of genres and don't feel tied down to any particular one. I've done a YA novel, two books of Haiku poetry with a humorous vein, and a couple of self-help books. In the near future, however, I am working on some science fiction/history mashups.

I appreciate the time yo...more
